Dec 2nd, 2018. Listening to the great Junior Murvin. What a talent, greatest song ever. We love you Mr. Murvin. Gone, however, you will never ever be forgotten.
Just finish listening to the great Junior Murvin, cannot get enough of this song, this song is at least 30yrs old, however, it seems like it was made yesterday. Rest in peace Junior Murvin, your music is timeless, your voice is one of a kind, cannot be duplicated.
I'm very new to listening to reggae.... This is good stuff!.... Whatever I'm hearing through my left headphones speaker made me thing someone was someone banging on the door. (I use Sennheiser HD380's.)
Great song, some of the music of today, will be forgotten. This song was made in 1976 however, it sounds marvelous and it will remain that way. Love you Junior Murvin. Rip
This is the one, yes this is the song that got me into reggae way back over 30 years ago when I lived in south London, just round the corner from Dub Vendor records at Clapham Junction. Since then I've listened to so many great reggae songs, Police and Thieves is still in my top 10. Thanks Junior Murvin.
HELL YEAH!! THIS SONG PUTS SHIVERS DOWN MY SPINE!!! i love this song SOOOOOOO MUCH and i dont even like reggae that much anymore. this song is beautiful and its history baby!
The tune was first performed by Junior Murvin though. As I am sure you know, Strummer and Jones (as well as many other punks) liked and respected reggae.
the love never leave my heart every time i listen to this song, it bring peace to my world. i hope it does the same for humanity to it's highest vibration.
Police and Thieves is a song which will always be relevant. Rip Junior Murvin, your beautiful voice is one of a kind, never to be duplicated. We love you and miss you.
The Clash owes it's props to Junior and the great legends of Reggae. Their version had a unique sound when they did it with a punk edge but this is this version with its soul in tack. They also did "Pressure Drop" which was Toot and the Maytals. They redid one or two more if I'm not mistaken.
My dad sounds so great!!!...miss and luv him so much
He sure does sound great. R.I.P
Paul Butler thanks sir
