Sorry about the weird upload time, UA-cam kept demonetizing the video (and they demonetized it again) and I kind of like uploading on Friday. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm taking my time to make better, longer videos, mostly in the documentary-style format like this one. This video ended up being a bit longer than I thought to be honest, but let me know if you enjoyed this format.
I watched both and they were great
Thank you for making the video man
amazing episode
There's a scrapped B-Plot involving Wendy bonding with Grunkle Stan who helps her master her talent for theft. My idea for a follow-up to Gravity Falls has Wendy replace Dipper & Mabel as the main protagonist. After Weirdmageddon, the entire world around Wendy could shift & change dramatically, resulting in weird phenomenon happening outside of Gravity Falls. Similar plot to Jackie Chan Adventures, Wendy learning martial arts, making her way though laser security systems, using her quick fingers to help people & overall, facing dangers that will demand all of her daring & skill to overcome. In addition, Wendy can occasionally crash at the Mystery Shack, potentially giving us more of Soos (The New Mr. Mystery) & a high possibility of cameos from Dipper, Mabel, Grunkle Stan, & Ford. Also side-stories from characters like Tambry, Pacifica, & Li'l Gideon, Villains new & old, & maybe Bill Cipher returning from the dead & going on a bloodthirsty campaign of revenge.

Disney wouldn’t let Hirsch say “kill the kids” so he changed it to “Ive got some children I need to make into corpses” and Disney let him get away with it
and the line is ten times better for it.
Classic Hirsch.

Yeah I think if fans found out about the things in Japan cause Alex posted a picture of himself in Japan, then it’s likely that he also was in russia, possible for vacations and then just thought it would be a good spot to put a clue
"And after that?" "Oh, then I'm going to Japan to do pretty much the same thing!"
I remember, my family loved the show so much that we took a trip to Oregon just to look for the statue. We searched in the woods of public properties for days. Turns out we barely missed it, it was like 10 minutes away from a cemetery we explored.

As someone who didn't get to experience this show until a few weeks ago, I just gotta say MAN I MISSED OUT and now I'm sad. I could FEEL the energy coming from the people who found Bill. I could FEEL the fandom's rejoicing because OH MY FREAKING ALFISKVKENVGS THEY FOUND THE STATUE! I feel nostalgia for something I was never a part of and it is the weirdest feeling ever.

He could've just ended Gravity Falls there but decided it needed a true and amazing ending. I got so happy at the end when he was talking about it how he wanted it to have a proper ending
I got super happy too.. What a great man.
Just finished the video and I honestly got emotional seeing him talk about why he did this. I think its beautiful that Hirsch created a series that meant a lot to so many people and the only he could feel ok saying goodbye was if all the fans got to participate too
I find it hilarious how the police basically arrested Bill Cipher

"If you've ever taken a road trip through the Pacific Northwest, you've probably seen a bumper sticker for a place called Gravity Falls. It's not on any maps and most people never heard of it. Some people think it's a myth. But if you're curious, don't wait. Take a trip. It's out there somewhere in the woods."

Man that just makes me so nostalgic for some reason, I just want to go out there and find things.
The fact that he was probably sitting in his office recording him talking to himself with three different voices for some reason makes me giggle
You mean with the ghost? The one where soos got a chicken nugget?
He had a big white board at Disney for months covered with plans to 'kill God'.
That is amazing
Alex voices four major characters on the show - and a bunch of side characters - so I'm sure he's used to talking to himself by now.
The fact that you said the fact that shows the fact that you didn’t really need to say the fact that
ok hearing grunkle stan sing "we'll meet again" and saying to shake bill's hand, with my memory of that one theory that bill is still alive in stan's head, sent me reeling.
Right??? I was listening to him speak and he sounded really suspicious. Like if he's trying to convince us "hey I'm grunkle stan not bill lol"
100% agree ! And "share the wealth" ? Really ? Grunkle Stan ? GOLD plastic coins ? Gold is Bill's color, I bet he'd get a little bit of himself in every one of those. Gosh I love this show so much.
@@missconcombremasque Didn't Bill sing "We'll met again" in the last episode? I think that Bill is still on Grunkle Stans head, there are far to many coincidences to not be something, the song, the handshake (that for Bill usually set deals, maybe it is some sort of trigger for a speel or something?), the gold, the UV messages and the spell Bill used on the last episode (RETURNBACKWARDSTONETOTHEPASTAGAINTHREE) perhaps we will see Bill again, don't know whenre, don't know where, but I know we'll met again some sunny day.
OH MY GOSH I FOUND THE CHAIN I WAS LOOKING FOR
Yeah, I was going to say something about that "sharing the wealth" part as well, that's really sus Bill you need to work on your Stan impression
@@justapotato9919 yeah i love this theory, but what i love most about it is that we're pretty likely not going to see any more seasons (maybe a tiny bit of external content but alex said he was done with the show iirc), which means we're just left to speculate on what might happen next

Omg this is a big hunt with a lot of mysteries

Disney wanted more seasons but Alex didn’t want any… he has the whole series planned out and wanted it to end where he had it
And that's the level of clout Hirsch had gained from this series. He literally had the power to look his employers in the eye and say 'no more'.
@@femoman and I feel like that also allowed many opportunities for some employees to actually get their own shows, pretty sure a Netflix show called inside job is made by someone who worked on gravity falls and I think Alex’s wife got her own show aswell

Good. Shows pushed past there creator's vision always take a HUGE quality dip. A real fan wants a series to end when it ends, not drag itself into the dirt trying to continue past it's expiration date (looking at you Dragon Ball... lmao)

Based on Grunkle Stan’s final message, it almost sounds like it’s actually Grunkle Stan possessed by Bill Cipher. The song he sings is the same one Bill sings in the show, but previously Grunkle Stan says NOT to shake Bill’s hand, but NOW he is saying to go ahead and shake his hand. He also says “Congratulations on finding my, uh... the mysterious treasure, of the... statue in the forest!” As if he almost accidentally said “Congratulations on finding my statue in the forest.” Hmmm...

@@israel6819 No it's not. But there may be some hints in Alex's next project. A different form, a different time. Remember that.
I imagine a spiritual successor could be possible.
This is just as good if not better tbh. When the show's producer/main writer basically acknowledges his fans and did this for us. He didn't need to but he did anyway. He spent weeks; probably months planning this is and that's pretty cool.
In a way a final closure or constellation prize which is much more than most other shows do for their fans. Also in a way to show/connect fans from around the world either in person or online.
Also for a new season probably not but a similar show or spiritual successor is still possible.
With streaming companies and netflix snatching up people and pay rolling ideas like hungry hungry hippos, it should be a little easy to make a new show especially with brand recognition on his side.
This is the most creative way for Alex Hirsch to make up for Gravity Falls’ ending, he understands that people adore this show and does something knowing that people don’t want the show to end.
Fans kept the hunt going for a few years after it was finished, leaving behind widgets and doodads for other players.
God, this is the perfect end to the series. Like the whole show was about hunting and this was that but irl.

Hello. I still remember the day we found the statue. I was the second person to reach the location, with Momo's help once she had found him first. You can see me digging up the treasure chest in my yellow shirt in the video, and I currently have the Journal that was buried in the forest. I did find one more thing inscribed in that book that I think the world should know. On the page where the 'This book belongs to' is torn out, Hirsch had written "The winner!" in invisible ink.
I have since lost contact with Momo and anyone else who helped us create Codemageddon and other endeavors in the years that followed, and there's a part of me that wonders if I should have this book or if Momo should since she found it first. I still occasionally go back to Confusion Hill and leave more 3D printed goodies, so be sure to say hello to Bill once in a while. Maybe you'll get a Badge of the Ciphered Eye the next time you visit.
Update: I have gotten in touch with Momo, and she's apparently OK with me keeping the journal now, so things are cleared up more or less!

I really appreciate the focus on puzzles me solutions over the whole creepypasta type aesthetic which some videos covering similar topics heavily lean into, even down to the background music. Great vid

Yeah, I'd be pretty downtrodden too if I had discovered Florida instead of the fountain of youth. Florida, what a bummer.

It does like more than a coincidence that the alternate reading of the coordinates leads to the Bermuda *_Triangle,_* a place where mysterious things are said to have happened
ikr, also its a TRIANGLE, like bill. idk that was probably deliberately out there to throw people off
Imagine if they actually got stumped there and went to the Bermuda triangke
@@kingasasin177 They find a buoy in the middle of the ocean with a note attached to it saying "Wow, I didn't actually think you'd come here. Uh.... I'll just tell you where the statue is right now."

I'm old and I watched this show with my kids and we absolutely loved it. Great idea to reward fans with one last mystery
I grew up going to the enchanted forest my entire life. This was so cool to see something incorporating my home state of Oregon ❤️🤘
You know, odds are there was a fan who lived in Reedsport. Imagine if s/he went out hiking and just found the statue a few days after announcing the hunt, that would have been absolutely hilarious.
I feel like people would still go through the whole hunt despite that
Every other fan HOW HOW
After watching this, I wish I was involved with the hunt. Sadly, I wasn’t aware about the hunt. I never knew a show like this could LITERALLY take you on a journey.
The last clip really explains how this was the final bang for the tv show. A funeral really, and I think we all grieve at the death of the show, but we’re glad that it happened and still continue on to praise it.
And as Stanford Pines once said:
“Stay curious, stay weird, stay kind and don't let anyone ever tell you, you aren't smart or brave or worthy enough.”
This was fun to live through back in the day and seeing it retold like this made me feel like I was living it again :^) great video
Not sure on whats more impressive. The thought put into this or the ppl solving skills
For real though!
Anons abound. 😎
if Jorge makes a video longer than 20 minutes you know it’s going to be good

This just goes to show how much Gravity Falls meant to Alex Hirsch. Gravity Falls was a key part of my childhood and I’m so grateful that Hirsch shared his brilliant idea for a TV show so that millions of people could enjoy it.
I kept having goosebumps throughout this whole adventure I've always loved this show and now knowing that there's literally a whole treasure hunt that happened makes me love it even more.
This is the most insane thing I've heard from a kids cartoon.
Edit: I don't think its a kids show, but Disney is very strict on some things but wow they improved.
Is it for kids tho?
*I have some children I need to make into corpses*
I wouldn’t say this video is supper accurate, but the show is mainly aimed at older children like 10+. The hunt was a good time for the fans and I’m sad I missed it lol. It was fun the watch tho
@@itsariot9122 *Same-*
itsAriot yeah everything in disney channel are mostly for teens that can think better, And disney junior is for kids/toddlers.
It was fun while it lasted and I had fun with it.
This was one of the only hunt to do with any media that I followed. I remember when it was found. The months that people searched and I have to admit that I was a sceptic and didn't think that the statue existed.
Omg, it's been about 4 years since I found out about this show, and everything about this made me so emotional, literally the best thing ever, I already knew about the whole hunt but I wanted to rediscover it through this video, thank you
bro you did such a good job with this video ITS CRAZY HOW YOU COULD FIT ALL THIS INFO INTO ONE VIDEO THANK YOU SO MUCH
it does leave things strangely open ended...
*spoilers*
bill was erased from stan's mind but stan's memory came back rather quickly, and the primary show character who speaks is stan, which, if we're to believe this is happening after the show, wouldn't be with soos as he's off treasure hunting in the arctic.
Hirsch states imediately not to shake his hand but Stan says to do it, and also says a bunch of things as if he were reeeeaaally trying to convince the listener that he was in fact actually grunkle stan.
perhaps this is, within canon, an elaborate ploy by bill to escape whatever fate befell him after getting memory wiped, that all he needed was someone to shake his hand that he might escape and be able to plot anew.... curious little details....
Yea, there is no way that this show is over, too many details still need to be solved.
Watch a certain We Bear Bears short about an "internet troll".
I have always thought that Grunkle Stan has been controlled by Bill in the end- I just cannot believe that a creature such as Bill Cipher could be wiped off this world... Gosh, I wish the show continued.
also, there was this extra comic or whatever where Dipper and Mabel meet an Axolotl in Space. When they asked the Axolotl about Bill Cipher, the Axolotl only says this.
Sixty degrees that come in threes.
Watches from within birch trees.
Saw his own dimension burn.
Misses home and can't return.
Says he's happy. He's a liar.
Blame the arson for the fire.
If he wants to shirk the blame,
He'll have to invoke my name.
One way to absolve his crime.
A different form, a different time.
So,will Bill be back? yea, definitely? in Gravity Falls? no?
However, what about another Favorite T.V Series of ours?
What Tv series?
Rick and Morty.
I reccomend you watch MatPat's vid about this. Also, did you guys know Alex and the creator of Rick and Morty are friends?

Supposedly, the implication of the grunkle stan audio file found in the treasure as well as the various treasure inside was that Grunkle Stan was overpowered by Bill Cipher, or that Bill wanted you to believe that Grunkle stan was possessed by him.

This was absolutely beautiful! Kinda sad that I've never even heard of the show as I was born and raised in India but still this was fantastic and was almost feeling very emotional at the end even if I never watched it. Felt like this hunt is the "true" final episode of Gravity Falls.
I like how no one once thought about all the trouble they went through for the fans without any support from the disney network.
We don't know that 100% since this was started way before the season finale.
But still he 100% went hard in making it.
Imagine a kid with no knowledge of Gravity Falls goes into the woods and finds the Bill Cipher statue
What a lucky kid they'd be..

man, this video gave me some goosebumps. i sure can't imagine how great the people must have felt, that discovered the hints, the statue and the group that finnaly found the treassure. what an awsome idea and how well brung to reality. this is a perfect example of how the internet can make great things...

I couldn't believe what happened after the show ended with the Bill Cipher statue during the end credits of W3. I had been following all the news, mysteries, and hints about finding the Bill Cipher statue. I was involved, but not actually visiting the real-life Mystery Shack. Instead, I was keeping up with the news about the Bill Cipher statue and people's efforts to find it.
Thank you for this video, I very much enjoyed all the information and it was entertaining content. I look forward to watching more videos and keep up the hard work!!

"Oh hey, bet you thought I died, huh? DEMONS NEVER DIE! Anyways, I'm in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle right now, and it's pretty sweet! Oh, what's that? Malaysian Airlines 103? Classic! Hope you had fun with that little hunt I set up! You might just be worth saving!"
