Georges is on a very good way with Breitling... That COVID-10 throwback will reduce the speed a little, but I expect not only Breitling but the entire Swiss Watch Industry to be back stronger than ever pretty soon...
Breitling’s new releases are stunning. The 42 mm. size of the case is very wearable. Love the renewed bezel and bracelet. In-house movement is a plus IMO. Thanks for posting such a thorough review.
I was never a fan of the Chronomat, but this new Chronomat collection is oddly charming. The dials look great, the bezel looks great as well. The crown is weird, but I don't hate it. The bracelet I do hate, but yet I don't. I'm amazed at how they managed to stay so true to the original and yet make something so refreshingly handsome and interesting.

@@WatchAdvisor Thanks for the offer, but the one question I had, you already answered in your video! I was wondering if the bracelet had screws or pins. The fact it has pins also holds me back a bit. I much prefer screws over pins. With that said, I tried on the black-eyed blue dial. Funny thing is, I wasn't even looking for this model. I asked the guy in the store if he had a Chronomat laying around and if could take a look at it/ fit it, but i actually ment the other Chronomat model, the older 44mm bo1 version. By daily use it will be difficult to scratch the surface. So also my wooden table, my handling of course did not scratch the watches - impossible! That's stainless steel! The Chronomat is priced correctly IMHO. You get value for money and an in-house chronograph calibre on top...Contender? The only use i ever had for a Tachy was to time exactly when my pot of tea would boil. Other than that...unless you're doing laps on a 911...What else Alex. Nite
When I was young I got a chronograph with a tachymeter scale from my father and I sometimes measured the speed of the car I was sitting in when traveling on a highway and being pretty bored...
A nice watch... at first glance, but I can’t get over: - the missing indexes on the bezel, - the scratch magnet, the polished bezel, - the red seconds hand.
Every polished part of a watch over time attracts scratches... True! On the other hand side that’s kind of building up a personal patina on the watch and this is what I like ...
Yes! The red second hand operating from the center of the watch is the second hand of the chronograph. When starting the chronograph it will start to run and indicate you the minutes and seconds on the dial...
@@WatchAdvisor Nah you are wrong. Even harder paper napkin scratch stainless steel watch. I scratched my Seadweller with a papertowel. And scratched my Chronomat with wooden toothpick!
Wonderful watch, the bracelet is really amazing😍 Only minor criticism: The polished bezel must be a scratch magnet and a yellow gold version would be very nice✌🏻
WatchAdvisor Hello again Alexander, I already asked a while ago about swiss watch production and delivery concearning the current crisis... I know you‘re very connected in the industry, so do you have specific information about Tudor‘s production and delivery, have they already opened? Still waiting for my watch which already should have arrived... Thank you for your effort and best wishes to Vienna✌🏻
Alexander, this is the nicest watch by far of all. One thing: the rumor goes that Breitling will not be issuing box and papers anymore. Is this accurate? Thanks for the great content!
Ren_Vr It will be digital and secured by blockchain. When you purchase a Breitling timepiece, you will receive a card which can be scanned by your phone and you will have entirety history digitally recorded, pass on ownership, etc.
You will ALWAYS get a traditional box and papers if you wish. For free of course! If you don't need or want a box you will get a pouch... So no worries!
Well take your time to make your mind up and a soon the Chronomat has arrived at your AD go for a touch and feel... Bring the watch to its natural habitat, your wrist... decision there after will be easy...
So I bought the opera dial Saturday. There was a scratch in the sapphire on the seconds counter. I took it to the AD the next day...I pray Breitling does right by me or I’m gone.
Johan Larsson Love your comment! Thanks for sharing. You simply have to roll that R until it gets a RRRROULEAUX 😉 Let me know if you have any questions about the watches...
@@WatchAdvisor not yet, but the items i mentioned cannot be fixed by seeing it up close. I don't like the B logo, i hate polished bezels, and the bracelet is unacceptable. Its too wide at the lugs, its held together with outdated pins and sleeves, and the butterfly clasp is off the shelf with no real ingenuity.
Thanks for sharing. Tastes are different. I personally like the new Chronomat. The design is what it is and faithful to the first edition of the Chronograph. Not using the famous bullet design for the bracelet again would have been a mistake. I have seen many new old designs being applied on a watch and this Breitling one ranks among the best for years... “B” or “wings” is almost a religious discussion meanwhile, I don’t want to comment.
Niel Lambrechts Thanks for sharing your thoughts Niel! Let me know if you have any questions... Wings or no Wings... that is the question... so many opinions are around... If you ask me I couldn’t tell which version I’d prefer... didn’t miss them at the new Chronomat and liked them elsewhere... 🤷🏻♂️
WatchAdvisor Regardless of the many options, I like where Breitling is going... in this range, I greatly prefer the Frecce Tricolori. The only watch I really like this much is the JLC Polaris Chronograph. Any of these would be a great grail watch!
Alexander you look like the guy from Watch Finder :))))) Just your hands. Great Job I think you answered everything. I do have one question, on the Bentley Edition does it say Bentley on the Dial? I would prefer it didn't. I love the watch. It's now on my short list for Christmas with a JLC Master Control, model not decided and the Steel Rolex Yachtmaster 40. I will say you were so good with your photography that you switched me off the first Gold Model. I like a few of the other models dial colors a lot. Just my personal experience with the Bullet Bracelet, I have the original on my 1995/6 Chrono Cockpit. I have had it 24 years this month and had the bracelet adjusted once due to just getting older. I strongly suggest letting the AD adjust it when you buy it. If he doesn't get it perfect he will adjust it again. Once its done if it anything like mine it will be extremely comfortable and bullet proof, pun intended.
@@WatchAdvisor Im a little bit of a Breitling fun boy :) I like the green one. But my favourite new Breitling is the Super Ocean H two tone. Kind regards
Lunox Ruby hanabi The slanted bracelets are very comfortable and look sharp in a edgy way. I like them better than the “bullet” bracelet which look very bulky and ostentatious.
Always difficult to give an advice ... best you can do is go and try them both on your wrist and decide spontaneously and with your heart... I would choose Panda 🐼...
I am interested in buying that Chronomat. I just want to ask if there is anyone that already owns it, how does ti perform with regards to the time keeping and power reserve? Is B01 calibre a reliable one? The reason I am asking is because I currently own a new Avenger and I am not happy at all with the daily deviations it gives me and the power reserve (it only stops working after 6-7 hours after I leave it, after 5 days of non-stop wearing). Any opinions are much appreciated.
The B01 chronograph calibre ranks among the best and most reliable of its kind. The fact alone that it took Breitling five years to develop it shows how serious the approach was. Meanwhile the calibre is also used by Tudor in its chronographs and the little Rolex sister wouldn’t buy/use them if this was et a real good calibre. So from my side I can really recommend you buying that Chronomat. Concerning your Avenger I fear you have been wearing/using it close to strong magnetic fields. What you describe reads like if the watch is heavily magnetized. Magnetism today is the enemy number one of mechanical wristwatches. Do you need to worry? Not really! Your Avenger can easily be demagnetized by a competent watchmaker.
@@WatchAdvisor Thank you for the quick reply. So, it looks like even if I get the Chronomat I could still get the same issues? I thought the big difference lays in the inhouse movement of the calibre b01. The Avenger comes with Sellita.
The Sellita per se is not a bad calibre! Technically speaking they are not the newest, but based on old ETA calibres… it is most likely magnetism as I wrote … The B01 is also sensitive to magnetic fields and one should not expose the watch to them… If you wish to buy a watch that is totally insensitive to magnetic fields you should focus on Omega. All Omega calibres - the entire watch - are Master Chronometer certified and do resist magnetic fields up to 15.000 Gauss …
Beautiful watch.. could you please slow it down ?! We didn't get a chance to have a good look at it, you're moving constantly and swapping between the watches..
Be sure to avoid direct and close contact with strong magnets ... the strength of magnetic fields diminishes with distance ... when worn daily and when you respect some rules you will be fine ... when a watch is magnetized the magnetism can be detected and the entire watch demagnetized with e.g the Witschi "Teslascope II" : www.bergeon.swiss/synchronisations/pdf/TeslascopeII_FR-DE-EN_2018-07.pdf
@@jukebox1794 You know that this simply is NOT true! As we say, we cannot apply one single measure to everything. So, writing ... "Breitlings take a 50% depreciation"... is wanting to provoke. The truth is that Breitling, after CVC bought the company and Georges Kern took over, discontinued hundreds of references in the Breitling collections from the Schneider area. These watches now are no longer produced, as I wrote discontinued... Of course, these watches have been sold out through various channels and of course with huge discounts. Once again these were watches no longer belonging to the actual Breitling collection. But you wanted to make believe people reading what you wrote that these kind of discounts automatically apply for all Breitling models and this simply is NOT the case. The new Breitling watches keep value as good as many other major brands do. I am monitoring the markets and I have noticed NO difference in value to many other major players of the industry...
Thanks for the review. Well done! Beautiful watch but these watches are too expensive imho. It is not better then Tudor or Omega, but prices are much higher. Bracelet is nice, but a quick adjustment should be there for this price tag. I would not buy this Breitling at retail prices. It is positive that Breitling is on the right track again.
Barts 27 Really? You are aware of the fact that the Chronomat is powered by one of the best chronograph calibres of the Swiss Watch Industry, that it is a watch with an extravagant steel bracelet that is difficult to manufacture, that on top the quality is absolutely flawless and that the prices mentioned in the video do include 20 % VAT?
@@WatchAdvisor to be honest I still think that price is too high in comparisson to Tudor, Omega and other brands. You can buy a lot of nice watches around 8k. Even Rolex or pre owned Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is possible. 8k is a lot of money and I doubt if I would consider the Chronomat for 8k. Breitling should hit the sweet spot if they offered the Chronomat around 6k. It would be a lot of bang for the buck. The bracelet is well made but no quick adjustment. You cannot compare the watches but The ML Aikon has also a nice bracelet and they make it for a lot less. Movement is good but for me it is too much marketing claim and no real facts that movement is better then other chrono's.I think everybody should decide for him self in the end. Before Kern took over Breitling was a bit lost, slowely dying and prices dropped very fast. With this in mind I don't know if you can justfy this price tag already?
@@TheBarts27 some of the most well known watch reviewers have stated the B01 is on par with some of the best chronos in the world. So goo even rolex uses them in the tudor line . Blancpain chronos are 12-20k dude. Only comparison would be zeniths el Primero.
WatchAdvisor it is not talking to me... I though Breitling was past the shiny stuff. I guess they still want to sell to rappers lol Great video Alexander ;)
Screws have been known to unscrew. The watch is quite heavy 200g with screws? . I have one of the Chronomats in the way the Bracelets as been constructed it would be difficult to apply.
Don’t buy a Breitling pilot watch without the wings logo. Don’t buy a Breitling watch which is not from the pilot watch collection. Or all your investment will be gone...
Regarding the Navitimer you are absolutely right. However i personally think this is due to the glass caseback of the new model. It completely destroys the the Image of a tool watch.
Regarding the high price segment it is a mistake to think that. Nowadays even a 100€ Seiko comes with a see-through-case-back. However I think that these watches are intended for the Asian market.

The Chronomat is priced correctly IMHO. You get value for money and an in-house chronograph calibre on top...Contender? All manufacturers offering a steel chronograph with a steel bracelet with an in-house chronograph calibre. There aren't so many! The new Breitling Chronomat does not have to hide itself.
So...the full gold ...only comes in rubber straps? No full gold bracelets?
Until now yes! I wonder if they dare in the future... Would be something like 500 grams of gold on your wrist ...
very cool thanks. Think the Silver may be my favorite of the bunch which is supersizing considering how dark the green dial is.
Best to do is to go for a touch and feel, try the watches on your wrist...
@@WatchAdvisor always, I look forward to hitting the boutiques as soon as it safe!
Great vedio!Nice collection.
Thank you!
Thank you very much for the positive feedback!
Well done Breitling! Looks sharp. Gone are the rounder edges and the lazy bulky 90s design. Cool bracelet. My favorites are the pandas.
Excellent rundown my dude
I am happy to read this! Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions...

@@WatchAdvisor Genau.
A nice watch... at first glance, but I can’t get over:
- the missing indexes on the bezel,
- the scratch magnet, the polished bezel,
- the red seconds hand.
Every polished part of a watch over time attracts scratches... True! On the other hand side that’s kind of building up a personal patina on the watch and this is what I like ...
Stunning. A tad large for me but a stunner
Go for a touch and feel asap and try the chronograph on your wrist... you never know... in case you can and do, let us know what you thought...
I have a question so the second hands in red is not for time but for chrono?
Yes! The red second hand operating from the center of the watch is the second hand of the chronograph. When starting the chronograph it will start to run and indicate you the minutes and seconds on the dial...
Does your table’s surface scratch the watch when you drag it across?
No! Impossible! How should this have happened? Wood/plastic can not scratch stainless steel...
@@WatchAdvisor Nah you are wrong. Even harder paper napkin scratch stainless steel watch. I scratched my Seadweller with a papertowel. And scratched my Chronomat with wooden toothpick!
Smith Totiemsri That’s completely impossible! Neither paper, nor wood can scratch stainless steel - sorry! I have no idea how you did this...
Is there any glide lock that could be added to replace the folding clasp?
Not that I know...
Wonderful watch, the bracelet is really amazing😍 Only minor criticism: The polished bezel must be a scratch magnet and a yellow gold version would be very nice✌🏻
Must not! I think being a little cautious should be enough...

Hello again Alexander,
I already asked a while ago about swiss watch production and delivery concearning the current crisis...
I know you‘re very connected in the industry, so do you have specific information about Tudor‘s production and delivery, have they already opened? Still waiting for my watch which already should have arrived...

What’s your favorite new Chronomat?
excellent video review!
Good to know, that YOU liked the video! 😉
Blockchain will for the time being only happen with the Top Time...
im either going to buy the Frecce or Silver dial....cant decide lol. I do have the Superocean Heritage II B01 Blackeye blue already
Well take your time to make your mind up and a soon the Chronomat has arrived at your AD go for a touch and feel... Bring the watch to its natural habitat, your wrist... decision there after will be easy...
That is a nice Bracelet.
The modern 2020 version of the iconic bracelet introduced in 1984...
This or the Zenith Chronomaster Sport? I know they are two different styles but if you could only buy one, where do you spend the money?
Again... try both watches on your wrist and let your heart decide... it will tell you what to do... Both chronographs are excellent!
So I bought the opera dial Saturday. There was a scratch in the sapphire on the seconds counter. I took it to the AD the next day...I pray Breitling does right by me or I’m gone.

@@gianpakasa I hear you! Miami Vice that was a real cool TV-series 😜
@@WatchAdvisor changed the style forever, and so will do this model. Time for Breitling to show that even a Funds can make and love watches!
@@gianpakasa I think one could say that they are successfully on their way...
This new model is one slash bracelet, one brushed bezel, and one wings logo away from perfection.
One question: Did you see the watch in real yet?
Is it possible to put it on a leather strap?
Not coming from Breitling. The Chronomat is only sold with the "Rouleaux" bracelet...
Bravo Alexander 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻

WatchAdvisor please tell Mr. Kern Job well done 👍🏻. He make of breitling a super cool , elegant and sexy brand . The chronomat 2020 is a Winner
Abraham Benmoha I will send him a WhatsApp right now...
Easily makes my shortlist. My only complaint, for someone aiming to own a single watch, is that I prefer the Breitling wings logo.
Frecce Tricolore! Yesssss! My favorite Chronomat...
No "Bentley" on the dial... Click here: www.breitling.com/at-en/watches/chronomat/chronomat-b01-42/AB01343A1L1/

Lunox Ruby hanabi The slanted bracelets are very comfortable and look sharp in a edgy way. I like them better than the “bullet” bracelet which look very bulky and ostentatious.

green or panda ? any advice ?
Always difficult to give an advice ... best you can do is go and try them both on your wrist and decide spontaneously and with your heart... I would choose Panda 🐼...
Really don't like the new chronomat watches from breitling prefer the old version anyway
Let me be curious... What exactly is it that you don’t like with the new ones?
For me to big. in 40 mm would be great.
Go and try the Chronomat on your wrist... Mine by the way is 17 cm. That chronograph looked good on mine...
Nice how u doesn't bother with a soft surface for the watch and nicely rubb it over the table. Pure class
You can’t scratch stainless steel with plastic… the surface of this table is plastic…
Really,really?
wish they make it smaller!!!
The Breitling chronograph calibre B01 would not fit in a significant smaller case...
@@WatchAdvisor won't fit for 40mm?

Yousif, you can press the three vertical buttons on the top right > playback speed > reduce it to your convenience
Is it anti magnetic?
According to DIN - yes! 80 Gauss ... Is this sufficient? No!
@@WatchAdvisor , how much is enough to prevent the watch from being magnetised ?? . If magnetised , the watch is no longer good .

@@WatchAdvisor Why not, they can put in a off the shelve movement like they do in most of their watches!
I'm surprised that in that price point, the bracelet link is not secured by screws, and before you bring up Nautilus

Screws have been known to unscrew. The watch is quite heavy 200g with screws? . I have one of the Chronomats in the way the Bracelets as been constructed it would be difficult to apply.
It is not with screws because they wanted the bracelet as thin as possible. There is a reason it is like that !

Don’t buy a Breitling pilot watch without the wings logo. Don’t buy a Breitling watch which is not from the pilot watch collection. Or all your investment will be gone...
Really? What careful considerations can lead to such statement?
Regarding the Navitimer you are absolutely right. However i personally think this is due to the glass caseback of the new model. It completely destroys the the Image of a tool watch.
It is not an option, it is a must! A majority of buyers wants a see-through-case-back! Only Rolex can allow itself not to offer this feature ...
Regarding the high price segment it is a mistake to think that. Nowadays even a 100€ Seiko comes with a see-through-case-back. However I think that these watches are intended for the Asian market.
Literally nobody buys a Breitling as an investment.
42mm too big and bulky. The panda dials are nice tho.
42 mm too big? Depends on your personal taste and the size of your wrist... Many see it different...
42 mm is just fine to be honest ..people need to try them on before the assume stuff.
If you can wear a 40mm bezel-less watch... a 42mm watch with a bezel with will probably be just fine.
