    Very impressive. The no handed feature is the best.
    That rope hanging off the handlebar reminded me of my grandads(and then my dads) David Bradley. That machine had every clever attachment under the sun, but somehow they couldn't come up with a better starting system.

    My father had a 1947 with that blower attachment. What a work horse!!!!! Still running. The collector I sold it to still using it to mow lawns lol had low gearation wheels slower than a snail lol used to take a year and a day to blow the driveway out but love running that machine. Was fun.....

      So true, I have 3 and I hardly ever run one in my life. Just studying and get ready for the big reveal. I love this video. I wonder what octane gas was used

    It ain't snow blowing unless there's a 40 foo rooster tail!! Now THAT'S a snow blower!! Great job. Hopefully my 58 LI runs as well as yours. Cheers.

    Great Video. I got my Comm12 w/MA210 out in 30" of snow and had no problem. Had one 5 foot plus drift about 10 feet long chewed it up. Then I found a pipe that shouldn't have been there and there was a loud snap. Took the MA off and put the 48" blade on. Worse than that is with all the wind and flying snow I didn't get any video.

    I agree with the other comments, with such a large property, you have plenty of space to build an addition shed, to house this vintage item, to preserve it all year round. Use synthetic engine oil, on the evening before, put an electric light bulb underneath the sump,
    practice using an electric drill to start it, then teach your spouse to use it. Thanks for sharing.

      Yes since this video I’ve organized my shed better and have an additional storage shed with additional tractors

    Brings back a lot of memories
    I had that same setup but . I had dual wheels
    I like that oversize that you have there
    I'm running a 10A now
    Do you have the rolling ball hitch for the trailer

    • @DKTractors
      @DKTractors  2 роки тому

      Yeah I run a 5665 with a MA210 now or a pro16 with the Ariens style.
      Yes have a trailer and ball hitch.
      Thanks for watching!

    Switch to synthetic motor oil 5 w 50 it is fully comparable and perfect for that machine because the oil does not thicken until - 50 degrees

    Man, that thing is a beast. Really moves a ton of snow. First time I've seen a Gravely at work. Since you already have an electric cord out there why don't you use a 1/2" electric drill to crank that beast over to start it? Just put the drill on the flywheel nut and give it a crank. Lot less work , should start a lot quicker.Thanks for the Vid.

    Yet you still use a shovel😂. The shovel will never go away. I agree with below build that bad boy a shelter. Then clean it up and paint it! When done with all that teach your wife how to use it🤪

    That old snowblower does a better job then most of the brand new ones. The new ones with that wheel drive would have been slipping on the first row.

  • @boltonrangerr

    Your rpm seems quite low. Is this the proper speed the tractor should run at? I've never seen one throw snow before. Terrific video btw ;)

    • @DKTractors
      @DKTractors  9 років тому

      Yeah the rpm could go a little higher I need to adjust the idle speed

    Any way to put a recoil starter on it or better yet an electric or battery starter, or you could drill start it, use a cordless drill, a good one, and a socket adapter, put it on the nut and crank it like that instead of the rope.

    • @DKTractors
      @DKTractors  8 років тому

      Yeah I'm trying to get my starter fixed

    Dontcha just hate it when the wind changes direction and turns you into a snowman. Nice old L. The dog eater does the job great in dry to damp snow but in the wet stuff mine just pushes out square blocks that you could build an igloo with. Slower turning impeller than the MA210 snow cannon but still effective. By the way, don't you have room in that shed for the machine? Damn.

    • @DKTractors
      @DKTractors  8 років тому

      Yeah I need to put the rubber flaps on the dog eater
      I've expanded the shed since then should be good this year
      Thanks for watching

    • @bearbon2
      @bearbon2 8 років тому +1

      Do you mean the rubber wipers on the impeller ends? That's a great improvement for any 2-stage blower. I'm going to put them on mine after this season.

    • @DKTractors
      @DKTractors  8 років тому

      Yes I have a piece of a rubber mud flap that I want to use

    • @DKTractors
      @DKTractors  8 років тому +1

      On the second stage fan start with opposite sides first not all four to see how that works
      It should lightly rub the inner wall so it scrapes the wall clean

      @@DKTractors You earned it. One secret I've learned is heat that air cleaner cover with a sure fire Torch. Not crazy time but it will heat the fuel and make a huge difference starting with the hot air going into the Combustion chamber. I left you another comment about fluid film over where the cat to the point is makes another big difference. Repels moisture like crazy
