Don't forget to thumbs up! Let's see if we can get this video to enough likes for me to feel validation of my worth in this cold world. Fingers crossed! - Комедії
Andrew exudes the energy of a news reporter where there is a loud storm in the background and he’s struggling to hear what is being said through his ear piece
Why is this so accurate 😂
HAHAHHAA YES U NAILED IT
Andrew babe the bramble/apple/onion was referring to flavors of chutney 😭😭
Yessss lmaooo also the astringent fruit thing was a mermelade preserve thing lol
I screamed with how much marmite you ate! Just put a thin layer on a piece of bread with butter.
I feel like layer is even too strong a word lol. Sparse streaks of it are the only tolerable way to have it with bread 😆
@@tangimemeyeah, like scratchings for the uninitiated.
Marmite really need to put a little photo on the jar of the amount to put on toast! So many people are missing out 💔
what does it taste like
I’m so curious what does it taste like?
i think this is a perfect person whose diet you can follow because she actually eats and also cooks
Lmao right
Much better than kardashians who don't understand how to chop vegetables
did we watch the same video? all she ate was eggs, vegetables, potatoes and chicken 😂
She ate fruit and dairy too pre sure that fulfills the food pyramid @@gracesgoodvibes
Was she supposed to eat something else?@@gracesgoodvibes
For roast potatoes, the key thing is to preheat the roasting pan in the oven with the oil already in it. The parboiled potatoes go into the HOT oil. That's how you get them crispy
I think you just solved my butter garlic smashed potato issue! Idk why I’ve never thought of this! Mmm! I know what side I’m making for dinner tonight! Thanks!!
@@ItsKiraLynuse oil not butter , oil makes them crispy because butter has water content
@@Rose-bonnieyeah or finish them with butter for flavor. they could also be fried in ghee :)
@@susanahernandez-oi4ch yess ghee is the best
that makes so much sense why did i never realize this lol
I love watching people who don't know how to eat Marmite eat way too much of it and in the worst ways 😂 So innocent haha
haha, right? Ahhhh, so wholesome. Poor babies.
Omg I just laughed for a solid 5 min
when he said he was gonna eat it straight off the spoon I was like, oop-!
Nooo it gets such a bad rap with Americans because they always do it wrong and then they judge the Marmite when it's their fault 😭
I hate watching it bc they all say they hate it, but they don't even eat it the right way 😭😭😭
I love that Florence said she has a vodka martini and all Andrew heard was vodka.
wake up babe Andrew posted
It’s so refreshing to see one of these videos where the celebrity seems genuinely passionate about food and cooking. Even Martha Stewart who’s brand involves cooking seemed so disconnected from what she was eating.
Maybe when she said her tea is like stew she meant it’s stewed? If you brew tea with the recommended amount of time it’s “steeping” and if you leave the bag in longer (so it’s stronger and more bitter) then the tea is “stewed”. Source: my parents are British
oh this makes sense!
As an American I am very confused as to why we try british condiments in ways we never try our own condiments… like we never eat a spoon of ketchup or mayo or relish, but then Americans will go and eat a spoonful of marmite. I think we need to think more guys, please 😂
As an American…we are uncultured and stupid.
A Martini is 3 oz vodka to 1oz dry vermouth garnished with olives. It's not just straight vodka. LOL
Hey that would eork for me 🍸
As the designated martini maker in the house since I was 10, my father instructed me to put a splash of vermouth into the chilled glass, roll it around a bit to cover the glass, dump the extra back into the vermouth bottle, then shake up the vodka and pour it in. He liked two olives 🫒 and yes we’ve had that same bottle of vermouth for 10s of years 😅🍸
She was on a podcast and she's designed a drink for her granny and its basically a martini but her granny loves grapefruit so she added pink grapefruit juice. The podcast is called dish and Angela Hartnett cooks and then they sit and eat and talk food. If ypure a foodie it's great.
The way she does it is actually just vodka 😄 plus a little lemon peel, there is a video for it
Me, a latina, who grew up eating beans and eggs for breakfast: 🧍🏻♀️
I thought the same like you need to try huevito revuelto con frijoles fritos y tortillas recien hechas
That's way better than anything British, trust me. The British baked beans are just treacherous.
sameeee
@@lavenderoh our baked beans are made differently to the ones you'll find in the US, which are sweeter, they're actually quite good 😊 love any form of beans though, especially Mexican/Puerto Rican recipes
@@lavenderoh i'm not british but british breakfast is great, you all are tripping.
Hello just popping in to say that by "quince" she probably means quince paste or quince cheese which is the original marmelade from Portugal (where I'm from) called "marmelada", a kind of hard sliceable jam made from "marmelo" (quince). It's a go to for vegans here in Portugal and it does go really well on a cheese board.
I've had this once, and the store that sold it isn't around anymore. Not sure if I trust ordering it from Amazon 😅
Called quince jelly on England, im obsessed with it atm, the best to pair with cheese. But yes it is like a jam consistency or sometimes thicker
Devia haver um disclamer neste comentário para simplesmente não pesquisarem só “marmelada”
I love Quince, I'm in Scotland and my mother's friends have an ancient quince Bush so I get to make lots of quince paste and we keep it for Christmas for the cheeseboard.
Hi, just wanted to pop in and say that in Chile (where im from) "quince" is called membrillo and commonly eaten as a marmalade, "dulce" that would be the cheese that you all mention and the most common way... raw. We normally beat up the fruit (slamming it against the floor, wall, table, etc or leave it out cut to oxidize and add salt, i am shocked to find out that it shouldn't be eaten raw.
I’m so sad you missed the opportunity to experience fancy cheese and quince paste! Such a good combo!
I was gonna say it was probably quince paste!!
Honestly, you were totally correct about marmite being a soup concentrate. I do, in fact, recommend adding a spoon or two to your next soup or broth. We add it to our chili. It's great as an ingredient to add depth and some richness. Like soy sauce! I do not eat it the more straight up methods, like on toast or as a spread on sandwiches. It's more of an acquired taste that way, and I have not acquired it...
People get how to have it very wrong. Try it on hot buttery toast but just the smallest scratching, like bearly anything. I swear its soo good! (I have way more than a scratching on mine but I've been eating it my whole life)
Most of the meatless meat flavoured soup bases are made of yeast extract so it makes sense.
I think a vodka martini has more ingredients than just vodka 😭❤️
Vermouth...
Vermouth and a twist of lemon or an olive or some lavender or something!!!! 😂🤣😭
Pretty sure the quince she is talking about is quince paste. Also the bramble/apple/onion all were different flavours of chutney :)
Ah, friend, a vodka martini in a martini made with everything that goes into a martini. They say this because you can sub the vidka for gin. You still need the dry vermouth. I
andrew honey i love you but when you came back and said it's been 20 minutes and those potatoes were still in the water i knew the dish was over for ya 😅😂 also THE ENDING 😭😭
I am dyingggg that he put an actual onion on that cheeseboard hahahaha that and the quince (search quince jelly) .. dead 😂 lost in translation
4:46 Andrew's raw reaction to seeing the English breakfast is killing me lmaoo
She had a vodka martini. You missed the martini part 😂 So she add vodka and martini and shake them together 😅 not just plain vodka 🙈
as soon as I saw how much marmite you put on the spoon I knew it was over for you hahahaha
Noooooo for marmite/Vegemite, you spread a THIN LAYER on -HEAVILY - BUTTERED TOAST
Florence Pugh drinks a DRY vodka martini which is why Andrew only added vodka and no vermouth. She does usually add a twist of lemon but it’s still just a cup of cold ass vodka…
But even a dry martini has a tiny bit of vermouth, otherwise it’s just chilled vodka. You put a small amount in the glass, and swirl it around and dump the excess. So there is just a hint.
the commitment of taking a full SPOON of marmite was insane
I LIVE for the chaos in all of your cooking videos😂❤
Guys my stove knob is broken sorry don’t worry it’s not on
As a full fledged Florence Pugh stan and Andrew Lowe enjoyer I never clicked on a video so fast
As a Brit the whole tea making experience was hilarious to watch , how meticulous you were about it was so funny - no British person would ever 😅😂
Every video reaffirms how funny you are ahhahahahha THE END HAD ME CACKLING THE EDITING WAS ON POINT
Andrew - put a SMALL amount of marmite with butter and toast. It's so good. As a fellow American, I love the super savory flavor. Also good on roast potatoes, and I even made marmite "caramel" cookies recently. It's good for vegans - lots of B vitamins!
Ooh marmite cookie sounds interesting! Did you like it?
@@allyson-- Yes! The NYT has a gochujang caramel cookie recipe - I basically just subbed gochujang for marmite and played around with proportions.
Hahaha, Marmite is definitely an acquired taste.
I would suggest, now that you have a jar of it, to add umami to a dish.
Soups, bakes, sauces etc.
Also the quince, she was referring to quince paste, a cheese board staple.
She meant quince paste. You can find it in the fancy cheese counter.
Love this series! Happy Holidays Andrew 💜
ANDREW THIS CAME AT A PERFECT TIME I moved from US to UK a few months ago and been getting used to all the wackiness. literally tried marmite for the first time last week but I had coworkers guiding me so I didn't just eat it with a spoon😭 now im stuck with an entire jar bc they got it for me
i stumbled upon your video and your my new fav youtuber now, you're amazing
YAY Andrew!!! I haven't even watched yet, just so happy to see you!!
I kinda love the way she eats! Definitely the one I relate to most besides the marmite… she’s also really pretty! I don’t know her either but love when your videos pop up for me!
Andrew you should try her vogue garlic crostintie recipe!!!💕 also your thanksgiving video with Chris is my free therapy
Totally made my morning to see that you were back!!
❤ your content sooooo much. Esp. the following what celebs eat. That line about Martha Stewart & how what she missed in prison was lemons. 😂 I giggle every time I think of it.
You were the first youtuber ij my life, don’t ever stop
Lovs these videos!! Keep them up 🤝
It's calling it a tea "packet" for me 😂
think of marmite as an umami ingredient. you can add a tiny bit to soups. I eat it on a nice slice of white crusty loaf (country bread or rye or something) with lots of butter and maybe half a tsp of marmite spread on there. i would eat it with a banana for breakfast so there's some sweetness. Something actually a little crazy i do is put butter, marmite and jam on toast and its like this sweet and savoury toast which i really like. The KEY is NOT TOO MUCH
Here so fast, love you Andrew! 💗
Am I wrong or is a vodka martini not just vodka? I feel like you made it wrong 😭Like where's the vermouth
Yes, it's 3oz vodka 1 oz dry vermouth. Lol
@@PollyW326 i googled after watching to make sure and found out that apparently people DO just drink vodka straight and call that an extra dry vodka martini but I honestly don’t understand the point of doing that 😭 And I‘m sure Andrew would’ve enjoyed it more with vermouth
Came here to say this, a martini needs more than vodka (I’m a dirty gin martini gal myself . 😂
aaaah i love these videos 🥹🥹
Andrew, you ned a slice of hot toast with butter and then scrape a tiny bit of marmite across the top to give a delicious umami flavour. Can also use it in chili, or to give roast potatoes an amazing flavour. Most people who try Marmite don't know how and then hate it. keep the portion TINY and it's amazing!
Baby, I was a bar manager for years and I love a dirty dry gin martini, here is your martini guide:
a traditional martini is a half ounce of dry vermouth, 2.5 ounces of vodka or gin, stirred is traditional but I prefer shaken, and garnished with an olive for gin, a cocktail onion for a Gibson, or a twist for vodka.
A dirty martini is vermouth, gin, and olive juice. A dry martini is less vermouth (usually like a few drops or some bars will simply put it in a spritz bottle and spray the ice).
It is not just straight vodka or gin shaken with ice 😂
Sooooo was the vodka straight up? No vermouth? No olives? A twist? Your reaction is gold, but I need to know.
He just downed straight vodka, not a martini. LOL
For the quince it’s jam or paste!! We have quince jam on the side of charcuterie boards in the UK, along with various berries and chutneys and such 🥰
As a British person, your pronunciation of Yorkshire is fucking hilarious 😂
Onion ..... chutney. She meant an apple chutney, an onion chutney. I'm crying laughing.
Marmite on butter toast is actually really good. Yum.
I'm dying at the onion! I love this so much. She meant onion chutney and apple chutney hahaha
Chef take - She's definitely talking about quince *paste* to go with that manchego
"Marmite..well mar do not!!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 dead.
a vodka martini isn't just vodka! its mixed with vermouth which makes it a little sweeter! 😉
for future florence pugh eaters- she probably is havving quince paste (world market has it when u pick up the yorkshire tea)
the cheese board segment was everything to me
i like these because you are able to cook and use your own judgement
I live for this series
This was hilarious, as usual!!
Couldn’t relate more to the buying a box of tea and only having ONE cup of tea and giving up
The cheese board seemed like a transcendent experience
Andrew, the way you get me laughing so fucking hard when I watch your videos. It is the serotonin boost I desperately need in my mundane life
I want to see someone who actually eats 😂😭 they barley eat and I’m like girl
Seriously the only protein she has is 2 eggs and 50 types of cheese, like huh?!
@@cocoluv29 Did you miss the chicken?
@scarletbitch866 I mean, she definitely said sometimes she gets so full from the cheese board she doesn't eat dinner... just saying. Also, the chicken was a special dish he dad makes when she visits her parents.
@cocoluv29 she has one of the most varied and calorically dense diets shown in one of these, especially for a woman. And no lemon water, celery juice, or broth-as-a-meal, or other diet-culture nonsense.
She also says she does 2 eggs in the morning specifically when she's working, and often does "half a full English."
Andrew also edits these down, the full videos usually have multiple examples of breakfast-lunch-dinner- drink- snack- and "cheat day" meals.
Marmite's slogan in the UK is "you either love it or you hate it". I am personally in the Hate it category 🤣🤣🤣 welcome to the club!
You can use Marmite in your fake meats. Yeast extract makes it taste more meaty. It might be better than miso paste for that purpose. Yeast extract is used in a lot of convenience foods.
I was gonna go to bed but saw my two faves (Andrew and Florence) and had to click
Celebrities need to stop calling random shit a ‘martini’. A martini is gin and vermouth, garnished with an olive or a lemon twist. A glass of vodka is not that in any way.
It shouldn’t bother me nearly this much, but it does…
girrrrrl you need quince JELLY
the hand gestures while saying "Lets try it!" were the best
Definitely would of suggested putting on some toast with butter for your first time with marmite raw dogging it like that mad andrew ahaha
from what i've heard about marmite and vegimite is that it's very potent so you only use a tiny bit. like, you'll make toast, butter it and then put a little bit or marmite/vegimite on it. and i think you're definitely not meant to eat a spoonful of it
Please try the marmite on toast with butter and a very THIN layer of marmite xxx
Marmite - toast your bread, put a decent amount of butter and then the tinies thin thin smears on the bread,
I was watching him gearing himself up to eat the whole teaspoon like noooo thats going to be awfullll hahahah so funny.
the way my soul left my body when Andrew said "FLO GIRL, I'M SORRY, I'M STUPID"
I'm an Italian who moved to London 8years ago..
I wanted to taste marmite just because it was a typical thing from here; never again, I never had it again and I terribly wanted to forget about the experience 😂
I gasped when I saw how much marmite was on that spoon 😂😂
oh no, you forgot the gravy with the dinner! but i would love to have this food day. the only one i would follow myself 😅
watching andrew be absolutely baffled at british food is sending me lmaoo
I don’t know so many people. I know you…LOL, but I didn’t know much of her either. Love your videos!
You can find Quince jam at Middle Eastern/Persian markets in Los Angeles ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
for the potatoes i always use the one viral recipe by that british girl that makes the cauliflower cheese, cant remember her name. she par-boils them, preheats about a 1/4 inch of oil for like 15 mins on a deep sheetpan/roasting pan in the oven, roughs up the potatotes, and then puts the potatoes in the hot oil and coats them well. i cook them around 425/450 and flip them every 15 minutes for about an hour or so. continuously flipping them allows them to fry on all sides. you want them to be really brown and hard/crispy on the outside. basically they should look well deep-fried bc youre frying them in the hot oil in the oven!
important to use pretty large chunks of potato, otherwise it will overcook. i use about 1 to 1 1/2 inch thick pieces so they dont fall apart!!
actually, marmite is a good vegan source for B12 vitamin
Quince paste is used in Spanish cuisine to go with cheese
A martini is not literally just vodka
For Marmite, you gotta do some toast with butter and then take that one teaspoon and spread it all over the buttered toast. Delicious! A little goes a longggggg way.
I was cringing when you put that teaspoon of Marmite into your mouth…I’ve only seen someone spread it EXTREMELY thinly on toast…EXTREEEEEEMELY!!!!😅. GREAT video, Andrew!❤
where did you get this gorgeous green cooking pot from ?! loooove the field report vibe ^^
I'm from near London, I now live I italy but I cried with laughter at this.. like I cried ! It was so funny.. I live marmite, I think if you are raised on it your taste buds just adapt. It's weirdly like de activated yeast or something aha! My Italian husband reacts the same way to Marmite that you did 😂 this was hilarious.. especially when you said it was like tar!!!!! Amazing
Andrew I work at Whole Foods and they have a quince spread in the specialty cheese ☺️☺️
weird fact, rocket/roquette and arugula are the same word and I don't mean the same meaning, they're from the same root word eruca which went to roquette/ruchette/rucola and then to arugula (-eh-rucola -> arugula) from US Italian immigrants same as cappicola and gabbagool are the same word (cappicool -> gabigool)
Quince- ceañera lol love the vids Andrew!
you needed to use a metal pan not a glass one for the potatoes otherwise they go soggy! also quince jelly is what shes talking about, like another chutney :)
so so so early ! 🩷🩷
The marmite said "Oh, you thought the straight vodka was bad? Hold my beer..."
lol, Vegemite/marmite use sparingly, use with crackers or bread and add cheese, like a cheddar. Wtf do you think you were doing eating it straight Andrew!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
