* I really love how there's no "Transform!" animation before the very last stream/hallucination starts!!! Her KAngel persona has "killed" Ame, so there's no need for her to transform into someone she believes she already is!! The writing in this game is so cool!!!
The ending went from HOLY SHIT THIS IS SECRETLY A HORROR GAME to but you got a ending atleast for the trauma!

A consistent trait of Ame's is that she has a deep seated hatred of nerds (which otaku fall under). At the very end of her final "stream," KAngel starts going on a vague tangent about all the anime she watches.
I love this kind of game.
she refers to "nerds" as オタク in the original japanese script. i think this is the only weird thing about the localization, but it's whatever
i think ame does consider herself an otaku on some level, but is more self-aware about her loser status than all the maleoid incel otaku she intends to exploit for their money and attention
@@windose20 I figured there was something more to "nerds", but I didn't want to jump the gun in case it was something else (damn you, second guessing.) Odd they didn't keep the original word, though.
That makes sense. Something I've noticed is that Ame, for all her faults and attention seeking, is surprisingly self aware and introspective on certain subjects, including the media she does enjoy (such as Fight Club and BL manga, if my memory's right.) Though she likely wouldn't be into the average otaku-bait, or if she is, she'd have a different reason for enjoying it from your average no-life waifu hoarder online. It's those little nuances that make her so fascinating as a character.

It really _feels_ like a terrifyingly real and plausible mental breakdown.
Even despite being heavily accelerated, "dramatized", and "adapted to the medium" (uses "dialogue boxes" to represent IRL (for her) actions and mental state, etc).

at the end, the blood is splattered over her right eye - the eye ame's bangs covered. idk if it really has any symbolism, but it's a cool little detail
That, and KAngel holding Ame's portrait (which usually shown during someone's funeral) symbolizes the "death" of Ame, as she's fully "become" KAngel
God people calling her a pick me is actually painful to think of,,..

@@clovest3rz It’s also interesting that during the sequence after you click OK to the “DIE” prompt, it’s the first time the Self-Destruct minigame has cut her four times instead of three- (You can also hear the sound continue to go off once the transformation pops up)

It's a bit disturbing that the normal 'transformation sequence' animation plays even when she's getting more and more unhinged.

Duuude... I remember his last stream... I was so confused and lost but when news about his unalive event came, I was shocked.
I think this game might be the first and only to legitimately chill me to my core. I've seen my fair share of horror, but this feels very grounded, very real. This feels like something that could actually happen, and probably has before in this day and age. You watch Ame break down in real time not because of some fantastical force, but because of her mounting stress and a very real terror caused by a danger that could happen to anyone.
How many streamers have had mental breakdowns this horrible at the hands of the Internet?

Weeks after this game was published the Rushia Discord SNS "scandal" broke out and she got fired. All of this makes this ending hitting even closer to home.

I've been loving this game so much lately and I've been wanting to immerse myself in the thoughts of ame and the profoundness of each of her psychotic breakdowns but it's physically impossible for me to get uncomfortable from this game because of the chat

The music and the doorbell constantly ringing feels so... Calming, familiar. Disturb the comforted and comfort the disturbed sort of vibe. I could listen to it for hours.
This ending triggered some past traumas the first time I saw it lol... it's my favourite one, for how I relate to it :P
I love how it has many effects but they genuinely don't feel like too much
Honestly, I'm probably a really bad person and most likely even worse than the ingame viewers but, I kinda like when she is completly insane, like, it feels like she's been crack opened and now we see the most raw version of her, like, I really liked seeing her talk about fishes, or religion, or anime, without a care in the world, I've always been fascinated about insane characters in media and if I'm being honest, I'd love to have a conversation with her in that state

Nah, I actually think Haachama is pretty stable. Remember, most of the crazy stuff with Haato/Haachama started with the fanbase, Haachama just ran with it. Even her break and return wasn't really mental health related, but just because she was also doing school at the time. She also has made it clear that she doesn't NEED to be a vtuber, like financially. It honestly just looks like a creative outlet for her explosively creative personality.
Put another way, there's plenty of Holomem that I worry about before her.

While this is indeed the most _cursed_ ending, I would personally still consider "There are no angels" to be the worst ending.

The end was a hallucination. I could imagine she was sent to a psychiatric ward after this though.
It's ambiguous (deliberately so) what happened that last day, and what her "stream" is now.

@@mrex666productions7 yeah, and people kept telling her to take a break but she didn't take one. I think her mental health just got worse and worse because of stress. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the amount of time she spent on the internet was probably messing with her mental health too.
I’m kinda just speculating, but judging by the whole sequence of her self harming and then taking a whole lotta pills, what I feel happened is the end signifies that she may have died from an overdose, and the entire ending is essentially her dying hallucinations.
Probably died from overdose. At 5:53 the text says "die" and seeing how (massive spoiler warning) p-chan is ame and you make the decisions for her, you unwillingly make her take a shit ton of pills which probably was her way of killing herself.
