    My wife and I were the two runners that passed in your video. The endless run shorts were my first pair of compression type shorts and now they are my go to short (when ever the weather warms up here). I would have stopped and picked your brain about the kit if I knew you were reviewing it. Airshed Pro is next on my list. Thanks for the review

      That's so freaking cool! I love the Airshed Pro, so freaking versatile. It's been a month since making that video and every piece of the kit is still my favorite thing to wear.

    I COMPLETELY agree with your comments on the endless run shorts. I bought mine thinking “yeah okay, form fitting...” took them for a 20 miler and never looked back

      My fav running shorts EVER. They're not in stock anywhere in Europe and not even on Patagonia site. Don't know what's going on, but I want like 2 more pairs just in case :D They're super comfy, no chaffing whatsoever, the pockets are AMAZING for getting the phone in and out with no problem…

    Received the shorts today, can't wait to experience the good reviews it has. Last year I received the capilene shirt at the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Run. In the meantime i have the airshed pro and the strider pro pants, i love this Patagonia Endurance kit so much. I expect it will be developed more in the future. Thanks so much for this video.

    This is my first video from you I watch. I like the video a lot. Even though I did not test the gear by myselfe I have a really good overview about the "system" now. I like you spoke about the "short situation" and I feel the same - thats the reason I love to wear shorts with inner nets. Also like thin turtlenecks with half way frontzipper a lot, due to the by you mentioned versatility.

    Thanks for the video review. Adding the pullover to my wish list, nice one for drawing attention to the different fabric in the lower arms, that sounds like good feature. May even consider the shorts, that said I've never been one for the compression shorts and kinda baulk at paying so much for shorts.

    • @jun2932
      @jun2932 4 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I think the one big drawback of the shorts is the price. We have become accustom to paying a lot for a waterproof jacket and select shirts, but it's tough to drop that much for a pair of shorts. Totally makes sense. They are amazing though.

    One of the most valuable review videos out there. Thank you!
    How does the Storm Racer Jacket act without a vest unter it and kept open for venting? Do the loose ends fly around?

    • @TrailAndUltraRunning
      @TrailAndUltraRunning  4 роки тому +2

      Not as much as I thought it would. I've worn it several times with nothing but a long sleeve underneath. With the double zip flap open in front you just tuck the fabric inside the jacket and nothing flaps around. It's kind of genius.

    Great review. Very thorough. Subscribed for more like this! Please consider skipping the background music in future videos. It is extremely distracting and made it hard to hear you. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I really don't need to hear anything but the wind and your thoughts : )

    Thanks

    • @TrailAndUltraRunning
      @TrailAndUltraRunning  4 роки тому

      I still wear it often. The question of stretching was literally the first question I asked the design team. They assured me it would not stretch much because it has the side cinch straps and I've found that to be true. It has stretched much less than Salomon vests (by a ton) and the durability has been amazing. I still love it.

    Can you provide some insight on the running vest (size), and consideration. I will have to order this direct without trying it on. Large vs Medium bounce with water etc...Thanks in advance

    • @TrailAndUltraRunning
      @TrailAndUltraRunning  4 роки тому +2

      I’m a 38 inch chest and I wear a medium. It fits perfect. It will allow for a reservoir but I use the bottles. Like any vest, the bottles will bounce a little unless you cinch it down as you drink. I haven’t had problems with the bottles sinking as they empty because of the loop that goes over the top. It’s been 8 months now and I still love the vest.

    Love the looks of the Vest....BUT...having a 47/48 inch chest I have yet to find a vest that fits. It seems that the vest makers think that a 44 in. is the largest they need.....it sucks! Someone, someday, is going to finally make a vest for us larger runners....and they will cash in. Fingers crossed it happens soon...

      Totally get that. I have a friend who is the same way. Have you tried Ultimate Direction? They have not only sizing but nearly all of their packs have cinch straps to help even more. I am a huge fan of the Ultra Endurance vest.

  • @peterbest4943

    Hello! How big of a reservoir do you think fits in the Slope Runner Endurance Vest? 1.5L?

    • @TrailAndUltraRunning
      @TrailAndUltraRunning  4 роки тому +1

      I'm guessing you could make a 2L work as it goes all the way to the bottom. However, I would recommend a 1.5L for most comfort.

    Can you say anything about the durability of the kit? For that kind of price I'd rather not buy new stuff anytime soon

    • @jun2932
      @jun2932 4 роки тому +5

      Great question and well timed as this video is now 2.5 months old and when I made it I had only been testing the gear for a couple of weeks. I've continued to use every piece of the gear weekly since then and can speak better about durability. The vest I used 2-3 times a week and it still looks pretty new. Very durable. The shorts are still, hands down, my favorite shorts I've ever owned. I still wish I had 5 more pair. I wear them every week, twice if I do laundry. They fit like the first day I got them. The outer shell is as bombproof as ever, not sure anything could break it. As for the Airshed Pro Pullover (my second favorite piece of gear), it gets used the most and has seen the most wear. Because the sleeves are meant to be pulled over your hands when they are cold (which I've done a lot) the seam over the wrist on the right sleeve has started to split. It doesn't do anything to the quality of the shirt, but it's a bit annoying. Additionally, the string pull on the zipper came off, not sure how. It doesn't affect my ability to zip it up or down, it's just not there. So, final thoughts are, it's worth every damn penny! Now, that said, buying the items piece by piece, I would rank them as follows: Shorts, Airshed Pullover, Storm Racer Jacket or the Vest. The pants and t-shirt aren't that big of a deal, really. They get used the least. I hope this helps.
