this was the best hero guide ive ever watched, helped me a lot with building situational items and priorities as my role in the game, keep up the amazing work!!
hello- really nice vid. haven't found much content like this out there and really helps to understand the "high level" concepts of the mid lane, applicable to normal AP matchmaking. why pick a hero, the logic behind the builds and options, how to play it out in different scenarios, etc. I want my friends to watch this so they can appreciate the nuance of the mid decision-making from the side-laner perspective.
Superb, great and chill format! You explaining the skill build/item builds and arguments for alternatives was very well explained!! And the commentary over the early creepwaves and fights was very helpful for thinking about matchups!! Had it all.
Really really great video, I've been watching some of your ember on stream and it's been really inspiring. I see a lot of the things I've been looking at incorrectly now (like only putting one point into e every single game), and I think the pace/structure of this video is perfect for my level/experience (5k mmr).
Thank you for the thorough guide! I am a ember grandmaster (Ancient) myself and you made an almost perfect illustration of basics + itembuilds/skillbuilds! I would like to add the item Eye of Skadi which i also sometimes like to buy in the lategame if i know my team has enough damage and the goal is to kite enemies. I also like everything together with octarine core if i need to poke a lot in the lategame (octa + gleipnir + sleight).
i would try just going the new rev brooch + crit/rapier build super late game skadi CAN be good in the perfect game but a lot of the time more damage is just better right now even carry heroes not buying skadi as much as before
750 games on ember and still learning something new everyday. Thanks for this guide, now I know to get mage slayer and revolve around the flame guard talents when they've got a team filled with casters, or build around the sleight of fist with maelstrom daedalus Although i'll add, I think its still worth getting corrosion + vessel instead of mage slayer when their team relies heavily on tanky heroes such as timber and DK
archon bracket here and been spamming ember for 20 games now, I have 60% win rate. I noticed that building mage slayer > malestrom> Travel. Really helps my team alot, in our bracket we dont usually push lanes to pressure the enemy that why when I tried this build I notice that even we get stomped early game we had a big change on a comeback due to the enemy difficulty to push. really nice guide overall
I was looking for a guide for ember cause i dont undrstand the hero and the timings i am acient bracket by the way. And that was really great and nice guide
hello or something! Nice guide! I've been thinking on playing ember since sometimes puck is banned, perfect timing. I think with this quality of teaching and knowledge you just drom some intro and a more decorated background and you will be trending :D, hopefully
hi. great video and also nice example video. One thing that I would have enjoyed being covered more is how do have more consistent chains. Especially when more creeps or when the target is alone ( for example you are chasing someone alone )
Great guide! Thanks so much for putting it together. Clear and helpful! Can't wait for the next one. Would LOVE this same thing for QoP, Storm Spirit, Void Spirit, or Pango! Thanks!
iAnnihilate/Danny to the moon! great guide mate, you deserve more views. Long form guide content that isn't overly "HYPE" "BROKEN" etc is great for the community.
Great video thank you! Haha I think I might finally be able to climb a little again from finding you. Can I just ask you if you ever use quick cast on anything with ember spirit. Right now I have my remnants on R key quick cast but activate remnant normal. I feel it can be really nice in tight situations remnanting out of slights. But it’s a bit tricky when chasing and not 100% sure on range( cuz u can’t see the helper thing when quick cast) Would you recommend having it quick or not?
I would argue, manta is better item for dispell than euls, because attack speed and damage. Having manta feels so good on ember. Than euls because of instant dispell and so much attackspeed
when winning you want to only split away from team to deal with lane pressure if you can place remnant near team and tp you can also do this if a lane is empty and you wont die doing it if the game is super miserable hard and you can't 5v5 enemy team thats when you split push to drag the game out, just try your best to shove lanes and not die
Pls tell me, what do to do against following heroes: Phantom assasin, Legion Commander, Bristleback, Anti Mage, Meepo. I have a lotof peoblems against this heroes with ember spirit. Thank you in advance
hi great video i wish someone did ths vid when i started to play ember :(. u said u want bkb when they have long cd and big spells, in most of my games i have so much things going on that idk what to build. the np support get a orchid, so i go eul, but then he get gleipnier and after the firts time he cast them at the same time he wait that i use eul for one of them and cast the other, then he buy a exe and so on. i dont want to buy bkb for a furion that tp in the lane im farming and cast a random orchid but at the same time eul kaya sange feels too bad in team fight expecially if u add some extra stuns. so rush bkb is bad, only kaya and sange dont let me survive, eul is good early but then become bad, bkb kaya sange is very costly and feels overkilled. idk if u understand what im trying to say. (some games i feel like i need 6 defensive items for survive) i have also a second queston, i saw bzm in other patches buy etherial vs some meatchups like sniper/ta u think its a option this patch or the item is just too bad rn? ty for ur time.
I keep getting destroyed in lanes tho. Everyone seems to be a greater lane dominator than Ember. If I draw or win lane I usually snowball out of control and win the game, but fuck me how do you beat the Huskar mid? Lone druid mid? Viper mid? OD mid? Dazzle mid?
So I haven't played seriously since 7.00. I'm trying to get back into things and ember was one of my mains. I'm very partial to the blink dagger ember though. I'd go like BoT, bfurry ,blink , linkens, Daedalus. Is there any room in this meta for something like that or has it been power crept out?
you could maybe play that as a carry but if you spend your first like 10000 gold on items that make you farm (travels bfury) and give 0 stats the enemy team should roll you over power runes/xp runes/bounty runes/controlling map are way too important for the early game tempo to ignore and just hit creeps I've seen a few carry embers make battle fury work but the talents and item changes favor the magic build A LOT more
@@iAnnihilate Thanks for the reply. Yeah I played a couple more games since I left this. Trying to make it work going blink first in the bots and vice versa and I just felt so weak without the stats that I couldn't make the plays happen and then I got battle furry out of one of those games and it just wasn't enough of a peak for me to do anything. Your build sounds really solid. I've also used it a couple of times and it feels good. I think I just use the blink as such a crutch that I'm kind of uncomfortable on the hero without it. Nothing a bit of practice can't fix. I am super rusty from missing so much dota over the past couple years anyways
29:59 -- i wouldn't really call this death luck... this is pretty poor remnant placement. the rule is always put your safety/escape remnants in locations where they aren't easily visible. if you leave them in camps, hide them in the back where the trees are instead of laying in the open etc. actually makes a huge difference because people find these carelessly placed remnants all the time and ask for their team to initiate while they camp it
wasn't really intended to be an escape remnant at that point in the game or I would have placed it farther back, probably should have put a new remnant before running into mid fight though for sure 100% put them behind trees/fog if its your lifeline remnant, I'd also add that putting them near runes/other lanes fine if your going to play agressively with the mobility
@@iAnnihilate i feel like any remnant you place should be considered as an escape remnant in an emergency (showcased by this situation), thats why i said the remnant placement wasn't good. there isn't any reason to leave the remnant out in the open there, and there are a ton of spots nearby at 29:59 (12:43 in game time) you could have picked that would be better/not as lazy which would have done the same thing or better than what your original intention was (if it wasn't to use it as an escape remnant), such as in the trees in the medium camp on your right, or abusing the terrain by placing it in the river below the cliff. while i';m nitpicking the remnant itself was also only a 800~ range cast and i think you should be always be aiming to cast it maximum range; if not wait until you're further away to maximize the remnant lifetime and potential distance travelled. this is know that's all really minute and you could argue it basically doesn't even matter, but personally i think this hero is all about small details and i enjoy thinking about how to play him to his maximum potential. im fan of your ember and this was a great comeback game in any case so apologies if this kind of comment is annoying
@@BennduR oh not saying that remnant was in a great place but it was for potentially ganking bottom ( i think placing it lower than bounty rune spot would be better but I just put it max range) the biggest mistake was just not making a new remnant before going into the fight for sure since the other remnant I had wasnt suitable for escape as you said totally agree with what your saying

Thanks so much for the guide. I'm super dogshit at Ember but I've been meaning to come back to him

loved this, excited to see more in the future.
Good video. Looking forward for more classic mid guides like Storm, Lesh and how to be a CS god on laning phase with Puck.

Time to follow guide religiously and see if I succeed

I don't even play mid but i liked this guide haha
What I always struggle with in late game is what to take out of my build for the late game items 😅 great guide tho!
Wow great video that nailed down situationally building items on ember
Subscribed, would love to see a storm spirit guide next
Great video man keep up the good content as a invoker / ember main i know i am going to be spending some time watchin u 😄
Could you do a video about what neutral items you like on ember and how you tend to prioritize them?
Watched the whole video, it was really informative, thank you.

This is great content! Please make content in actual gameplay and how you think, what you do in case of counter picks, map awareness and other things.
thanks for sharing this knowledge you've learned the hard way !!!
I like this style. Thanks for sharing.

when winning you want to only split away from team to deal with lane pressure if you can place remnant near team and tp
you can also do this if a lane is empty and you wont die doing it
if the game is super miserable hard and you can't 5v5 enemy team thats when you split push to drag the game out, just try your best to shove lanes and not die
