A Mini Pixel Art PC: Divoom Ditoo + 16x16 Art Overview

- Опубліковано 30 тра 2020
- The Ditoo is a Bluetooth Smart Speaker, and it stands out for having a 16x16 pixel screen for displaying art and animations, and a 6-key mechanical keyboard - giving it a look reminiscent of a retro PC. In this video we'll take a look at it's functionality and how to create and share 16x16 pixel art using this device. Special thanks to Divoom for providing me with the Ditoo for review purposes.

My boy already getting things sent by companies.
You love to see it!
Lmao they are sending this to everyone. If you check the reviews on amazon, most of them are given away to ppl for reviews. I just got offered a free one for review last week. They contacted me by email for a free one only bc I had already bought one of their products before.
@@gabrielwang4321 Same here, I turned them down.
i know im randomly asking but does any of you know a tool to log back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my password. I love any tricks you can offer me
@@briarimmanuel3156 why this comment?
Wow I never knew this existed! Keep this stuff up!
Guess who's getting themselves one of those bad bois?
(it's me btw...)
How much?
ditoo
I had no idea what you were drawing untill the last touch to the animation and I understood that was awesome
I could see this as a neat way to show others what you’ve been working on. It’s one thing to see it on social media, but this is more tangible and almost feels like a product you made. Saving up $80 now! Thanks man!
Haha absolutely, it's got a nice glow and bit more character to it! :D
Honestly that was my reason to buy it. Just wanted a neat display that could feature some of my art, but man... this gadget blew me away. I'm over 30 yo and I was playing with it and app for many days like a kid with his dream birthday gift. It boosted my creativity, it allow me a new way of learning by editing community made art in a simple way and finally made me 100% confident in 16px format which I was cool with but avoided when possible.
80 quid of well spend money
Needless to say Divoom Pixoo (the 64px format) is on top of my wishlist
I love your pixel art and your tutorials & I continue to learn more each time! Thank you so much!
Haha this is awesome, and love the way you did your intro (and outro) on this small thing!
Keep up the great content, pretty soon I swear you'll have several hundreds of thousands of subs
I was expecting a normal pixel art tutorial, but it was him jotaro
*ocean man fades in*
Hey! I just wanna say it's my birthday lol. I'm a new subber, you are really awesome. Please don't ever stop making pixel art!
Hey Happy Birthday and thanks for watching! :D
Happy bday!
Happy birthday
That’s a very cute and educational little machine! Thank you for reviewing it, every video you make gives so much information!
Awesome vid once again Brandon, found your stuff last week and I'm floored at how high the quality is! Love the look of this lil thing too, much love from Scotland :D
just placed my order, never would’ve heard about this if it wasn’t for you. tysm
This tutorials really help me at learning this youre great.
Thanks for making this review! I saw one of these in an electronics store but I wasn't sure if it was worth getting or not with its high price.
But now that I know more of its features (thanks to you) I'm sure it's worth the price now!
I am in love with this thing, thank you for bringing it to my attention!
Your videos have inspired me with pixel-style animation. I really like your channel !!
You're like one of the greatest pixel art teacher i know, keep up the good work duuuude
I didnt expect a product review, but this one is so cute!
this been on my wishlist to and TBH this is the best review, ditoo introduction video. ever. very thorough and makes me wanna make my wish come true so well done what a video🦄🦄🦄
I was just watching your older videos, nice timing!
I've somehow only just found your channel, but it's great! You deserve a lot more subs, keep it up :)
Lol had one of these sitting around for a while (the TV one). I've discovered your channel a week ago, and my mum find that thing yesterday in a closet... And now I find this video with you talking about that thing. What a coincidence!
The quality of the speakers are pretty good (the best I've seen for a speaker this size actually) and the build quality overall too.
I was already super happy when you made my sword suggestion a thing, smiled even harder when I saw you using it to teach people more about pixel art! :) Thank you so much!
Thanks for the suggestion, it's a perfect and classic thing to demonstrate small scale construction! Thanks for watching :D
@@BJGpixel As long as you keep making content, I'll be sure to watch it. You rekindled my love for pixel art and although I have become quite rusty your videos are really inspiring and helpful! ❤️
@@Yuzuki1337 Happy to hear, good luck getting back into the swing! :D
This is really cool! I love your videos!
The screen is mesmerizing!
Now if they could add a way to make games on it this would be epic!
they could make a simplified mario land
Man, this looks so cool
You got me hooked to pixelart in 3 videos
Another thing to add to my list of things I didn’t know existed but now want
This looks pretty cool, and now I want one! It happens every single time!
This is so cool and cute!
Love mini pcs! Love this one, pixel art plus mini pc 😍😍😍😍👏👏👏👏😍😍😍😍
man... that gadget is special made for you 😍
Cool video! I really like the way you make your videos :)
great review 😁
I want this thing, it looks so cool!
Like the way there is a reward for engaging with the community. Great vid. :]
Awesome video!
Great video!
Just wanted to say that I really appreciate how you explain the process in creating pixel art. I recently go into learning pixel art and your channel is my favorite resource in learning. I quite enjoy how you breakdown everything you're doing, even the mental thoughts you go through since it's a nice way for the viewer to get into the headspace of how to do it for themselves. Even in this video which is more posed as a product review, you had some interesting insight on how to make some pixel art. For all that, I thank you! =D
Me: Oh my gosh this is the best I have to get this.
Also me: Its $80 dollars? Oh my gosh! You know what. It's still worth it.
honestly i was expecting it to be more
Imma just get the display one, I'd only use it for that and I can code so it would actually give me more control with just a display. (ie making a custom alarm with my own animations)
@@kibbles3242 in new zealand its $120-140 :(
For me its $100
Yo that's so cool, and so much cheaper than I expected!
i already mostly make 16x16 pixel art, so this seems perfect for me
Just found your channel, it's great! A random video idea: how to angle your "camera" for isometric style stuff. I've noticed that some art and games seem to be "true isometric" while other tend to show the terrain from above but the sprites from the side.
These things that remind us of our childhood really fill our eyes!
Nice to see my book on your shelf!
That's a really amazing gadget!
Incredible video
This is so cool! And now I want a 90s PC.
Very cool!
THIS NEEDS MORE LIKES THIS CHANNEL IS GOOOOLD
Wooow the 16x16 Outrun sun! You actually did it, and it looks so good!! 😱
The Arizona can too, man that's remarkable!
I've had an eyeball Divoom's pixel displays for a while now, I guess I'll pick one up soon cuz this is too convincing! :)
Lol thanks again for the suggestions! I had fun figuring out how to make the Arizona can work; 16x16 is actually pretty versatile! Guess I'll be looking out for a Divoom vid from you one day haha! ;D
@@BJGpixel Idk man... I'm not sure if I can top your Divoom review! 😅😅 Maybe I'll give it a shot!
@@CKTDanny Hahaha please do, would be some fun vid work with the lighting 👍
@@BJGpixel Ooh, you're totally right!! ✨✨
I love the fact that this is basically an ad but it has no dislikes cause the product is so amazing.
The disslike button function doesn't exist anymore for probably more then 5 years by now, well it does but as a public viewer you can't see the stats disslike and like ratio. Just the positive. Only the video owner can see this data in the "YT studio" page.
The two main reasons why it was removed from public access are
1 because people abused it
2 because evil agendas that are being pushed to the masses had millions some almost billion disslikes which didn't do favors to the agenda pushers, since Google is evil in general they were forced to remove it from public view but still the option is there
Safe to say it was mostly due to 2 and not much reason number 1
And as for the comments in general the disslike button on them have zero function. YT is running on broken and unfinished codes for 10 years or so and they always run some agenda and make this place the worst experience possible. They never fix things the user needs but they only fix parts of what Google needs to run their crap, it always been like this and it will get only worse.
Edit: Just to make it clear, this is not me bashing the product in the video, it's more about the OP comment about disslikes... I actually like this device in the video granted the price is bit too much, it's still creative, useful and great overall.
what a great source of ideas for an Arduino DIY project!
That’s really cool.
This is beyond cool
Amazing!
This is so cool
Looks awesome; thought I was really hoping from the title you could make pixel art directly onto the device rather than having to use your phone as an intermediary
I bet you'll contribute a lot of pixel art in the ditto community 🥰
Great video ;)
I am not really into pixel are and yet I want one. Thanks for showing me this product. And have a like.
That is too cool!!
I SAW A SPRITE FROM TRIP WORLD IN THERE! AWESOME!
Woah, this is awesome! Could you maybe to some sort of in-depth tutorial for this device specifically? I’ve seen your other tutorials and they’re all really good, so I was wondering if you could make one for this as well!
You sound like Mandark!!! Cool, cool my dude.
Omg I love Divoom.
This is cute!
Look at 2:10, it's a handsome pixelated hedgehog. Great video!
It's a bit too expensive to me for a small desk toy, but it's pretty neat!
You could always use it as an alarm clock lol ... A hella expensive alarm clock, but still
If you don’t want this device, he also said that on the store they got much cheaper options that can function the same (but without the buttons).
There are cheaper alternatives they make, I think.
It's an alarm clock, a mini-arcade, a display screen, a Bluetooth speaker, and comes with extra clickiness. I think you'll find that it's a positive value for the price..
I DIDNT KNOW THESE THINGS EXIST !!!!! THIS IS SO CUTE
Amazing
Divoom has been making pretty great stuff in the past. This seems to be no different.
Yooo this is so cool, 80$ is a little too much for a novelty item right now for me so it's either wait till I can afford it or DIY with arduino. Coolest gadget ever tho and the backpack seemed cool too. Great introduction to this company.
What Microphone do you use for recording audio in your (awesome) videos?
5:00 *jotaro’s theme plays softly*
Who still remembers the Tivoo one? I still do.
Pretty cute : 3
Cool vid
Does it only do audio over Bluetooth, or does italso have a mini jack input?
Hey ! Do you know if you can replace the keycaps with normal cherry mx ones ?
Thanks for the video. Can you export the art you do at the app or the device to use them on other devices?
Why does the animation keep switching from one to another? How do I choose one animation and keep it?
Wow already getting stuff from companies? Nice, good job.
Wearing my Dark Side of the Moon shirt while watching this!
Discovered your channel recently, and I'm loving it. I'm a game developer, so making sprites is a skill that I lack but desire. I also play a lot of Minecraft, and maps there can be used to create pixel art. I'm wondering if you'd be interested in doing any pixel art style stuff in Minecraft?
This is so cute. I know it defeats the purpose, but I wish this was 32x32. I'm a pixel artist / game artist too, and a bit more detail while still looking retro would've been really cool.
witch program do u use to do pixel arts?
Wow. Big Wow.
Can you make pixel art with the device interface itself? Or just through the editor?
Wondering if this could effectively work as a 'distraction-free' device for wandering minds.
Still cool either way!
Everyone gangsta till the desk clock gets mechanical cherry mx keys
This probably isn't the place to ask, but have you tried using the MicroSD slot? I bought two of these guys after watching this review, and was intrigued by its supposed MP3 player capabilities... But am having an embarrassingly difficult time actually inserting a card into the slot. I just wanna know if that's normal or not.
Update: Apparently, you have to insert the MicroSD upside-down. Which is, uh... Really odd. And the MP3 browser in the companion app leaves quite a bit to be desired. It's still pretty neat as a pixel art display, and I'm actually oddly impressed that it included an MP3 player function at all, but it does seem a little half-baked in that respect.
can you charge it with an old iphone power brick 5v 1a
Imagine that in the future, you'll be able to create your own game on it
Not into pixel art but i love to know about it
I need help, I’m confused with the asperite timeline, I come from piskel and moved on to aseprite
Can i keep it shut to the electricity panel?
speaking of 16x16 pixel art, you should make a minecraft texture pack! the minecraft textures are 16x16, and i bet it would make a good video! keep up the good work :)
wow, I've always wanted to have a mini television, but I think 16 pixel is too little, but I'm not going to lie to you, it looks great.
I do not know why, but I like the idea of having a mini TV with the Internet, and that it looks old, but that it can be seen as a current screen, both can be in your set up, if you are a gamer or something like that.
it's great
Totally, I've got a small CRT for my Super Famicom, and also an HDMI-to-Composite so I can run my laptop through it. The resolution gets kinda messed up, but it's awesome to browse the internet or watch vids through it :D
