Yeah, beating Walter as Joachim is so easy and dodging his attacks aren’t difficult either. (Especially if you took the time to explore everywhere and get all the upgrades.)
This game sure got the boss cut-scenes right. Joachim, Medusa, and the Succubus are the best. I love when the succubus' voice changes and he's like "oh shit"
It would’ve been interesting to find journals or maybe extra bonus cutscenes about their backstory. There are a bunch of portraits around Walter’s Castle though, a lot of them are of women with red hair like his...perhaps they’re relatives?
@@oofman1999 Nah, if he has well made portraits on the walls of his castle of people that have his same colouring then I’m going to assume they’re meant to be his past relatives.
I know it will never happen, but this is one of those games that could have been absolutely superb if the plot was more elaborate and the characters stories were better developed and brought together more. Don't get me wrong, I bought this game when it was brand new and loved it! Crazy mode was well, crazy, and Joachim could just stand there for hours and watch the swords spin. Still no SotN, but still very fun. Can you imagine this game with updated graphics? Looking at you Succubus.
On the japanese version Joachim is voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya, and it was one of the first times where I heard his voice. He's the VA behind Levi from Attack on Titan, Araragi Koyomi from Monogatari Series and Yatogami from Noragami among other characters/shows and it's one of my favorites ~

@CEDELL29 I agree. I suspect he was one of the many men Walter lulled into his horrid games, much like Leon. However, he was probably beaten and then turned into a Vampire. The two other possibilities is that he was a man like Mathias seeking vampire powers, or he was a turned into a vampire to torment another guest in Walter's games.
This needs an HD remaster. Joachim could use corrections for that dub. The new English dubber for Joachim should say "Yo ah keem" not :ya heem." Maybe Ray Chase should be the new Joachim Armster. "If you wanna know... BEAT ME!"

Joachim should have gotten a bigger role in the game. I mean I know hes playable, but there should've been more cut scenes with him and gotten his own storyline.
the swords actually look similar to symphony of the night, theres a sword there that looks like these, the runesword which I think is a rare drop from a monster on the reverted castle
He said "lowly human" and then said that defeating Leon would be a nice prelude to defeating Walter. But if he thinks Leon is just a regular lowly human how is this a nice prelude? Answer: bad writing
