    Very enjoyable that Peter plenty guys doing the deletes from the back of their vans and leaving a wake of problems behind them😫 you deserve a medal for working that one out and what about that fourth wire carrying vital information but unable to reach its final destination. I can only imagine the hours that you’ve had on that job probably gone to bed & woke up thinking about it. Your a class act mate top of your game thanks for taking the time out to post your videos 🙏

      Thank you very much Kevin, I really appreciate that 🙏🙏🙏🙏
      This one was in my place for 2 or 3 weeks but I was quite busy on other stuff so I was popping in and out of this one.
      My thoughts are that the Dpf pressure sensor failed & then the Dpf was deleted. From there then it went from garage to garage, with everything messed around with 😬😬
      I know I didn’t prove it was a sensor or wiring problem but didn’t feel I needed to on this occasion
      I have a lot more miles done with no issues, thanks mate 🙏🙏🙏

    Once you had found the fault for me i was thinking id just unplug the differential sensor so it can't act upon the 5v but like you said it could be damage to the wire where it runs across the bulkhead so i guess your remedy was best. One day I'll beat you to the fix before you do .😂

      To start with I didn’t know where those 2 wires we going & with the pressure sensor not being needed now I just thought getting the variable of the wiring out of the equation was better. But we all think differently which is good & sometimes a different approach can make all the difference in getting a result. Thank Chris 😉😉

      Hey Paddy, it wasn’t too bad. I was very busy doing Mazda’s 😂😂😂
      So was jumping in & out on it. It probably looked a bit topsy turby due to misleading information & me thinking I saw the differential pressure sensor & map sensor sharing a power & ground. Then going away from that thought. And then going right back to it 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️
      I’d confuse a nation 😂😂😂

  • @damienkearns9922
    @damienkearns9922 Рік тому +1

    This is a complicated one Peter..from about 17mins on there is a lot of information….so my understanding is that either the pressure sensor or the loom has a short to ground? And because of all the previous messing with dpf etc. the pressure sensor is no longer relevant from the point of view of faults on the scan tool? So…ummmm…if the pressure sensor was just disconnected would that help to answer if it’s the sensor or the loom? If the fault still existed then the loom could be faulty? Like yourself I’m trying to work this out in my own head…but if the fault now stayed gone (or would it?) then the sensor would be the issue…by you snipping the wires and then rejoining what in theory would the ECU be “seeing” from the point of view of the pressure sensor value….⁉️🤔

    • @kennedysgarage3281
      @kennedysgarage3281  Рік тому

      Yes is the answer to all 3 questions. And at this point the engine ECU is seeing the default number from the differential pressure sensor due to having neither a power or ground, but the Dpf pressure sensor is deleted from the ECU.
      But I could recreate the issue anyway fast so chose to eliminate the sensor & wiring in one. It has another 180mls done with no issues so far 🤞🤞🤞🤞

    @tommymalone-q6g Рік тому +1

    Hi peter the issue you had there with the vw crafter map sensor having 4 wires but according to AUTODATA it had only 3 wires Do you come across many errors with AUTODATA diagrams.

      I was actually wrong on this occasion & was looking in the wrong place. I’d say the biggest problem I encounter is getting the correct vehicle details as we don’t have a reg input section in Ireland. Which is a bit farcical at around €1800 per year 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

    On the wiring diagram you looked at it’s the map sensor I’ve checked autodata using a 12 plate crafter as I wouldn’t like to think autodata would totally mislead me like that if you look for the dpf pressure sensor on the wiring diagram you will see that it’s connected into the boost pressure sensor and temp hence the wiring you were looking at for the map sensor and not the boost sensor which is at the top of the diagram showing the earth and ref voltage shared with the boost sensor lol totally irrelevant now as it’s sorted but you wer baisically looking at the wrong sensor on autodata to begin with 😮

    • @kennedysgarage3281
      @kennedysgarage3281  Рік тому

      I have just checked now & you are absolutely correct. I didn’t actually know that it had 2 intake system pressure sensors 😔😔😔 (until now)
      If I had noticed that it would have saved me some time. It was bothering me why I couldn’t find them joining, so it’s human error. So apologies to Autodata for my shortcomings 😬😬
      Well spotted mate, a man that likes to verify what others say. Good work 💪💪& thanks for letting me know 🙏
