Each album gets better and better I’m actually scared about her next one I’ll probably melt listening to it
2021 was kiwa , wasn’t it ?
We all are at this point lmao
I totally agree! That’s the best way I have heard it put. She is absolutely stunning and getting better and better.
I think you are soon to melt ....
There is a wealth of literature in her songs
Agreed 100%.
One of the best British Albums ever recorded.
Agreed, an instant all time classic!
i still don't think anything can beat Once I Was An Eagle what do you reckon? she said so herself
@@Dropthebeatonit agree there, didnt know she ackowledged it
@@Dropthebeatonit Agree!
@@Dropthebeatonit That album kills me, i cant listen to it too often. The first 4 songs are probably the dearest songs to me.
Feels like a lifetime since Alas, I Cannot Swim.
Haunting. When you think you can play guitar, sing and write a song, along comes Laura to show you how to do it and stand out from the crowd. Brilliant.
stunning! Song For Our Daughter is my favorite album of the year so far.
Just crawled out from under my rock and heard this. Wow, what a voice!
Come a long long way. She had me at New Romantic all those years ago.
She’s up there with Eva C.
This performance got me emotional, I feel like I can feel her feelings
Such a stunning song. Laura's voice is heartmelting.
She's very good, I'm listening to this album right now
She always had a way of inspiring me with her music and making me feel lucky to exist. For that alone I am very grateful to you, Mrs. Marling.
Shocking I’ve never come across Laura Marling before absolute stunning music. Perfect to chill out and relax 👌🏽🔥🔥
I just discovered her.. I like it.
Wow what a voice my first time hearing her, amazing.
This album is perfect!! One of my favorite albums of 2020. Absolutely gorgeous!!
I’ve watched this so many times and cried every time… her voice is so perfect
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a voice!
And to think she used to not like it because she thought there was nothing distinctive about it like Bob Dylan 's for example.
I was listening her for years form France...but it is the first time I see her in live. She s wonderful!
Oh, Laura! This music, this voice, this lyric, all of it gives me chills.
She's simply brilliant...been a huge fan since 2008
Loved this performance and the album . My favourite female vocalist of all time by a long way ! Wow what an artist . This should have won hands down ... next year !!!
I've been listening for many years, and I'm ok with her not blowing up, losing what makes her- her. Beautiful as always 🎧
This is simply one of the best performances I've ever seen
This is a beautiful song and Laura gives an immaculate performance of it. I love the album - every track is superb. When I heard Laura in her early career, I thought she was an outstanding performer and songwriter. She has continued to improve at such a rate that one day she may overtake Joni Mitchell as my all -time favourite singer/songwriter. It is getting to the point that I am struggling to find words that sufficiently express my admiration of her work. I can't wait for her next album.❤❤
Her voice sounds like an angel. Great singer and songwriter, a little bit like Joni Mitchel.
Hands down my favourite album of 2020. Every plaudit put Laura's way is nothing less than deserved.
Stunning album. Really can’t pick my favourite on the shortlist this year...
Amazing voice and song. ❤
The actual winner , with all respect to whatever was fashionable
Its a great album and performance
Don’t like saying someone ‘is like’ because it takes away from their unique talent and style, but this is beautiful and reminds me of Neil Young. Great work
I’m still waiting for her to perform “Only the Strong” live.
Adam Reinaldy she did it in this live radio show ua-cam.com/video/PJQwb1oiMME/v-deo.html - it’s not the same as full band arrangement but enjoyable anyway :)
@@Lena-gadam thanks for the link!! Seeing her as 'LUMP' in a week!!! So excited
In each lense I've looked, she is perfection.
“Perfect” “music for drunks, crafted by drunks”.
@@ellisparrish5002 Are you drunk? 🥴 Laura marling is not only a singer. She is a storyteller.Too bad you don't get her songs but don't ruin the comments section with your nonsense. You sound desperate.
She devastatingly good. I hear her and I'm undone.
Doesn’t take much for you on a COVID-19 high.
flawless
There is something of Joni Mitchell in her phrasing and lyrics.........
I love Laura and Joni. Both make great music. The big difference is that Laura doesn’t try to cram-in more words than will fit into the melody. 😉 Just sayin’.
@@ThisIsMusic1985 Really????? Try again.
@@stevejohncrowe Name an example, then say why it doesn’t work. Then keep listening until you realize how silly you4 comment is.
@@ThisIsMusic1985 not even her can touch joni’s blue so no. i love her tho.
Oh man! That is just stunning. So deep and heartfelt.
I love her! she's amazing...!!!
Absolute quality, stunning performance, unique talent, wow !!!!
Wow, how amazing is this beautiful song.
Reminds me of the tone and feel of Damien Rice's O album. Absolutely stunning.
That's a great album for sure. You should check Adrianne Lenker if you've never heard of her; especially her new album simply titled "Songs."
Well deserved First saw her at Hop Farm s first outdoor festival Neil Young was immense but knew then Laura Marling was destined for bigger things
Aw, I remember Hop Farm, they had some amazing line-ups for such a small festival! :)
bravo Laura 👏👏 you deserve more!! 💖
Beautiful.
Simply stunning
Always magic. Thank you Laura
What an amazing record, congratulations Laura
Wonderful SONG, LAURA YOU'RE SMART AND SWEET.... HELLO FROM MEXICO 💕❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love her since 2009
what a beautiful performance by a beautiful artist
Beautiful x
stunning.
here after finding out she actually now has a daughter!
Laura Marling is one of the best songwriters ❤️
Perfect.
That voice....!
I came here because of her "Coffee Shop showdown" video on the British Council website (I'm an English teacher). I wasn't aware that she is a singer. Truly amazed by her voice!
BEAUTIFUL.....!!!!
Damned Perfect 👌🏻
GREAT!! 🔥🔥🔥
I listen to this album before going to sleep and never knew it had won the mercury prize.
Unfortunately it didn’t win. She has been nominated many times though. She’s so underrated.
Just... Wow
Nice song and great singer!,,
Wow❤
Genius.
Absolutely beautiful performance she’s sooo good everything seems effortless though I’m sure it’s not her song writings up there great stuff
Still can’t believe she isn’t a household name. Pure class.
Superb!
Angel-like
Congratulations🕴
I've not felt this excited since I heard Damien Rice 20 years ago. Just lovely.
More than great, a true “real” Grammy winner!
she's a passionate composer
Not “passionate”, “drunk”.
Merci 💝🫶❤️🎵🌾🌹🌾....andre
Though they may want you to tread in their trail
Only to see if the path they set fails
Though they may want you to take off your clothes
Whatever they think that the action exposed
With your clothes on the floor
Taking advice from some old balding bore
You’ll ask yourself “did I want this at all?”
Do you remember what I said
The book I left by your bed
The words that some survivor read
Lately I’ve been thinking bout our daughter growing old
All of the bullshit that she might be told
There’s blood on the floor
Maybe now you’ll believe her for sure
She remembers what I said
The book I left by her bed
The words that some survivor read
Though they may take you for all you had left
You wont be forgotten for what you had not done yet
So you wished for a kiss from god
You mourn in your childish loss
Innocence gone but its not forgot
You’ll cut your way through it somehow
You remember what I said
The book you left by your bed
The words that will outlive the dead
👏
Does this song remind anyone of Aimee Mann? Esp. the quivery parts.
Laura, Natasha Khan and Anna Calvi are competing in her own category: Best Meryl Streep of mercury prize.
..a plus side of having no audience during shows like this in lockdown is they can use better microphones with more space for recording everyone 🤖👍
Fantastic. Not suggesting anything derivative, but if you know Anne Murray’s early releases, think that and listen to this . . .
good
Ihihihi Iove you
i still don't think anything can beat Once I Was An Eagle what do you reckon? she said so herself
She might never beat it on its terms, but her records since have all been great.
nice song for a fucking hard year
does anyone know what guitar she is playing?
cello player about to cry at 3:51
Laura, zorionak.
Tamara Pompkinson-Farfar
she's not real. she comes from an other dimension.
You likely need to quit drinking and/or put the drugs down. She's very plain, highly overrated, and an awful excuse for "an artist". But that's fairly common for friends of Chris Thile.
@@ellisparrish5002 I’m sure you’re just great, huh?
@@ellisparrish5002 sound a bit bitter lol
@Riya Patadia With a “face” like y’all’s, got nothing to laugh about. Go back to your regularly planned day drinking, “fine, upstanding members of society and critics of all that is good to the like of thy minds”.
@Darren Nguyen Yew muss bee jearous Engwish int yrew fwist wangwuage.
I'd like to think there's hope yet for us poor dolts and dullards. I left a book by my bed.
no one mentions how she is more like tim hardin than joni mitchell. maybe no one remembers ...
A bit of Everybody Hurts in there?
I thougt about the same thing!!
Joni and carol had a daughter
Anybody know who did the string arrangement?
Satan did it, for the democratic convention.
Most likely Rob Moose, I know he played a ton of it and he's a great arranger. He did the strings for Semper Femina too!
3:13 Made me sad. There should be a huge live audience there with her to appreciate her work.

Marling is bhalo.
Is this her second album?
no. 7th
a little wisdom that the prize means nothing. its just about serving the muse and doing her holy work
❤
Not sure about the overproduction of a string ensemble.
