Hi just fixed up my bike that has this valve and noticed that after running the overflow lines leak a lot of gas. Is there a way that the valve can be put "off" at all?

Unfortunately, this fuel petcock does not have an "off" position. It is a vacuum actuated design, so the fuel will not flow (in the "on" position) without the engine running. Fuel will run freely in the "prime" or "reserve" position though. It could be that the diaphragm in the petcock is bad, or you have a float or float valve stuck in your carburetor(s).

I've got my carbs apart and am waiting on my ultrasonic cleaner to clean them up
