Thanks for this! I followed these steps yesterday on my 2018 Model 3. So far it has worked great!

Worth mentioning, my 2022 Model 3LR has the filter screw on the bottom so it's easier to remove AND the orange wire is no longer there! Thanks Tesla for correcting these issues.

Damn, U and I both, my 2022 M3LR is 2mo shy of a year and vinegary smell started a month ago, in temperate climate.

Gonna try. Thanks. After watching a few video I learned to try filters w the rubber/foam perimeter. Supposedly the material is antibacterial/fungal. The paper perimeter ones absorb water during rain and car washes. The dampness promotes mold and bacteria. Also don’t run AC or keep it as low as possible during car wash/rain to minimize amount of water sucked into filter. (There is a drain hole in the intake but when the AC is running, the filter still gets wet.)

Just did this tonight with my M3 2021, waiting the next few rainy days to tell if this worked, but I'm pretty confident.
I had to replace my air filters anyways. We'll see!
    Thanks a lot!

Great video. I initially booked Tesla mobile service to do this and it worked for about a month then the smell came back. I'll do it myself this time thanks to your video. Thanks!

Hi there, just got a model 3 yesterday. It stinks, it's a used 2021 and I didn't notice it on the test drive but definitely do now. How has this approach held up? Any recommendations on how to best tackle this now? Great detailed vid by the way!

I have a 2018 and I'm just watching as a refresher since I'm about to do my 2nd or 3rd time. It's been quite bad this year since it's been raining and 85%+ humidity for most of the summer so far in New England
