Genshin is just hitting lore more and more universal, since naming the cycles of samsara everything has become more big, i can´t wait for natlan!!!
I don't wanna be that guy but I think their is a HUGE possibility that we are the " bad guys" of this story. Yes Celestia is hindering people to leave Theyvat, but as it seems to unfold Theyvat is a modern designed hell meant to keep evil spirits and the memories of the Calamity away. Celestia had a really good reason for this, and we might find ourselves in a bit of a conundrum. As it stands now Celestia used memories from stars to reshape the old world at a cost of this peoples will was taken, or they were captured in a preordained fate. But honestly the alternative was not really an option. You can interpret that as a sort of modern slavery but humanity has not proven that they can handle forbidden knowledge so I don't really see that Celestia had a choice to act differently given that the world is at stake. However I do like that Hoyo is portraying Celestia as the "evil" guys, keep in mind thou, that the information comes directly from the Ars Goetia demons it may very well be in the interest of the archons to have the traveller on their side, the longer the story progress I think the traveller is going to realise the archons are far from innocent. It may very well be that Barbatos controls Ventis memories, just like Focalors had control over Furina.
We also have no idea who's is in charge of Irminsul at the moment so we don't know if the "facts" in the game are reliable at all, since Irminsul possess the ability to rewrite and change anything in the world at any given point. However we have been given a clue that someone IS in charge, "the victorious side writes history" is mentioned numerous times in the game and is almost certainly meant to reference Irminsul.
Also it is said that the dragons came from heaven, doesn't that mean that they were allied with Celestia once? I am still very sceptical that they just decided to attack them one day. That part of "history" never made sense. We are missing crucial information as to how exactly the dragons were attacked and why.
I still believe that Celestia is not our "main" antagonist rather the party that is stopping the main real antagonist- the Abyss. But as how the game progresses, it seems we will try to overthrow Celestia and it seems we will win hence freeing the Abyss with no one stopping them anymore.
I get this speculation based on the teyvat trail chapter video where Dainsleif says that we are still in a war that is just a continuation of past battles. The past battles are still not clear as to who wins up until now and we still don't know who is exactly the 1st and 2nd descender, but now we just know that the gnosis is from the body parts of the "3rd descender" like wtf who is the 3rd descender? But at least we know that the first war was of the sovereign dragons and the first descender then 1st descender won but identity still unknown
@@tristanmanalo6252 Nahida says that the First Descender must be the Heavenly Principles she seems to talk about "they" as a Descender so it can involve more than one person. She could of course be wrong but I don't think she is. I actually think the third descender is Lumine, and that is why she is trapped in Theyvat. She is dead in a sense that is why she says "We have always had enough time" at the reunion quest, and she believes Aether is too, but I don't think Aether is. For one simple reason and that is his ability to purify Abyssal energy. I don't know why Sustainer split them apart, its the biggest mystery in the game right now. If both are equally responsible for Khaenri'ah why split them apart? the 2 Descender should be the "Second who came" This is a debated topic, this could be Nibelung, fighting Phanes or the Sustainer. But if it is the Sustainer the story about how that war ended is a lie, and the Second who Came won that war, and the Primordial one lost. Because the Second who Came is very much alive, and we have seen no evidence that the Primordial one is.
"The creator has not yet come" I think this foreshadows that Paimon is the real objective in this story, and that the traveller was sent to guide Paimon to whatever destiny she has. Now Paimon is starting to understand notice that she wants the traveller to run away from it all, and always at the end of quests talks about "what do do in the future"
wei just dropped a new theory regarding the identity of the third descender and that theory made me really think that the game is trying to pin us that celestia is the big baddie but the stroy behind that is more complex. It’s also really alarming what the Tsaritsa is using the gnosis for, because if they do succeed another huge ass war will come and the people in teyvat would suffer hell. Like no way The Primordial One made all those humans and just imprison them away.
@@amateurbarnabycreates I don't think anyone in Theyvat is "alive" it is just based on memories from the Calamity. Basically what he did was taking the best of humanity and capturing the fates of those people into visions. The fates are basically missions to pursue in order to Ascend to the next mission. That is why Kazuha can take the masterless vision and fullfill what that vision was meant to represent namely blocking the blade from Ei making her think that humanity is not lost. But if that is true means that Celestia knew that Ei would seize the vision hunt decree BEFORE it ended, and this is crucial.
It is also why history repeats itself because Irminsul can only produce a similar story every time what Lumine refers to as "journeys". It was nothing the traveller did Ei knows how this system works and the fact that Kazuha possess the ability to retrieve a masterless vision symbolically proves that humanity is not lost. When you have completed your trial of sorts you get access to world fate that is the people that try to change not only their fate but the entire world Rhinedottir, Skirk Barbeloth, Foul.
However it is still just based upon memories and has huge implications. If people forget the validity of archons they seize to exist, because their power is derived from the peoples faith in them. That should mean that if the people want the dragons to rule once more, there strengh should return. Irminsul only shapes the world according to how the people of it sees it. The salvation is that people do not remember their previous lives if they did, and I think they can, Theyvat would very fast become a living hell literally. Instead they live in oblivion thinking they are in charge of their life and that they can repent for their sins, almost all characters in Genshin tries to deal with sin in some form.

@@amateurbarnabycreates Update I found that video extremely interesting I hope Ashikai watches it specially the part with the shining shades which indeed is a contradiction. It could represent Theyvat on a microcosm level. That is the dark is light, and light is dark depending on from which side you looking. Or in Theyvats case the Abyss is Heaven, the Heaven is Abyss. This is why the melusine sees a cute little puppy when the traveller sees a rift hound. Those are clues to the "truth of this world"
Can we all agree that Fontaine also has the best soundtrack? It's the only one so far (atleast for me) that really captures the story of fontaine, especially the exploration OST. It makes me feel like what im doing and what im exploring is for good and actually is done to help the nation

What about the fact that the Celestial punishment on Fontaine seems to rely entirely on Surtalogi's pet invading Teyvat from outside the Firmament for years on end without either he or Skirk coming over and dragging it out or the Heavenly Principles going whale hunting? That seems like it should be important.
Well regarding the pet I think this lore and that lore are separate coz we still don’t know the link between the hexenziel 6 mages and heavenly principles. One more thing that pet was crested from primordial sea energy turn to be a predator ( we also know that in boss whale there is an abyss place occurred after destroying the dark ball). So 6 mages also deserve punishment if they’re from teyvat but I guess they are hidden enough to deceive heavenly principles . Also these 6 mages are more connected to abyss powers too. They seems to be a part of abyss but eventually their creation leds itself to be killed like durin and Elena till now.
See FINALLY someone said it !! I think Nibelung could be the 3rd descender too bc the gnosis are basically the dragons authority but with a “curse” in it and I think that curse could be what Nibelung brought back with him !! Bc I also think the sustainer is actually different than the heavenly principles too , it’s the one who “sustains” them not actually them themselves …which also makes me think maybe the sustainer could actually the 3rd too and nibelung/PO teamed up after PO purified Nibelung which is why the PO was weakened in the first place , they used too much power when purifying Nibelung
So right now I’m basically divided between the 2 😂the main reason I think it’s the first is bc as far as we know now the gnoses existed while the sustainer was still active bc they were supposedly who gave them to the archons

erosion seems to be also a form of curse/punishment celestia gives, as in kaenri'ah and as zl mentions rhat his erosion is maybe the punishment from the heavenly principles(tho idk what he did to be eroded if its his punishment, or maybe he just got hit by the curse in the cataclysm by accident)

Technically we don't know if Nibelung was around when the PO arrived and started war, or, if he was around, that he was "the king". My guess was that he turns up later and the title of King isn't one the Sovereigns had needed previously. They all had their own thing going on and didn't need a King over all of them. We don't know. I notice you suggested the Shades were made after the Sovereigns were beaten which I've always figured sounded more likely - a war maybe not the best time to go dividing yourself into pieces.
Remuria can't be before the big war because Gurabad (Deshret) is earlier and that's absolutely after the big war. Even if you ignore that, all gods come after the big war. We have the GoF talking about the war as history and the legends passed down by tribes about passing through Seelie-priest-king era to leaderless, to the coming of Deshret, and the Nails already came down before Deshret. I don't think Deshret is offered a gnosis btw. Very thin evidence for that and it runs contra to the purpose of the Archon war.

What I don't still understand: did Egeria die with her conscience contained in Tunigi Hollow, or did she store her conciseness in the Oratrice up until the point where the death sentence was carried out. It's contradicting, how could her conciseness be in 2 places at the same time.
