I think there are buggies waiting for passengers after immigration but I haven't noticed them Do you have to book them in advance with the airline or just jump in, I cannot say. Thank you for the comment
It was a very good trip indeed, thank you. Do you remember if it was the new First when you did SIN-HKG? SIN-SYD is quite a popular route and I think you will find more cheaper fare opportunities in First than in Suites
SIA operates four daily flights to SYD. One of them is operated by Airbus A350 without First Class cabin. That means that there are at most 14 First class passengers per day, not traveling at the same time. But you shouldn't forget that PPS Solitaire can also wait in the First Class section. I forget to mention it but we were 4 passengers that morning in FC lounge. The two others were surely Solitaire.
@@luxuryavgeek not anymore. TK is flying from IST via SIN to AUS as well. AY is technically not serving HEL to AUS. Only their aircraft and its FA are leased.
My final destination was Bangkok and SQ212 was the most suitable flight for a safe connection at SIN. I agree that Suites seat are more expensive than First Class seats
Thank you for another great review. I think First offers a nicer bed seat option than Suites and the loss of the private cabin is marginal when there are only 4 First seats.
why did you choose SQ's first class over suites (on the A380)? if i'm not mistaken, SQ has multiple daily routes from Syd to SG, one of which is on the A380. and also, you get a better product for the same price. whenever i'm taking SQ, it's always business class unless it's the A380, then i'd upgrade to suites. their business class is just too good!
Next flight is SQ232 (operated by A380) leaving at noon arrives at SIN @ 5PM. Last flight to BKK departs an hour later and I don't like tight connections. That's why I chose SQ212, first flight of the day. On the other hand, First and Suites are not always at the same price. Most of the time, Suites fares are ticketed "F "while you can find "A" fare on 777 flights. And honestly, I prefer First Class beds (wider) than Suites bed because of the bulkhead.
ive flown both and i can honestly say i like the 777 first class more. when its converted to a bed its alot more wider then the suit bed and when its a seat its a much bigger seat. majority of time i had 2 seats to myself in 777 so one stays as a seat and the other as a bed makes it even better.
Nice video. Am I the only person in recorded history who has ever ordered something other than lobster thermidor from the Book the Cook menu? I kinda think I am.
Thank you. All the meals onboard are supposed to be good. But it's not always a success even if Singapore Airlines chefs try their creations before it's loaded onboard. The fact is when you choose a Book The Cook meal, you have more chance to eat a delicious meal. The other thing is that you try to compare how much to can spend for a meal in any restaurant. A Laksa soup or Satay in a hawker food center is quite affordable while a Lobster meal is gonna be more expensive (And they are all delicious by the way) I don''t say that you are wrong not to choose Lobster but I think that passengers, while traveling First or Business, want to dream. It's like eating in a fancy restaurant. Personally, I sometimes opt for BTC because we can now view the menu before the flight and because the meals are uninspiring. Or eat something else than a meal you can easily find in any restaurant (like omelette or scrambled eggs)
Thank you for this point of view. It's difficult to find the right balance on board and some meals are sometimes too salty, because of the dry air in the cabin. You are right for some points like the garlic bread (less butter and garlic) but on this flight, taste was generally good.
@@luxuryavgeekYou are totally fine with those shorts in first class. Ignore the outdated views on fashion from anonymous imperialist swine on the internet.
You said it was a lot of walking through the Sydney airport, do they offer buggies for infirm passengers?

I would love to fly FIRST on SQ on this route. I did it once from SIN-HKG but it was almost a decade ago lol. Glad you had a good trip it seems.

Always a nice F lounge experience in SYD and quiet and personal.
Very few pax.

Hello Canada Ontario. Thank you for your support 🤩
The AY aircraft is a wet lease for QF.
Thank you for this info. I always thought that British Airways was the only European airline to fly to Australia
Indeed they fly the Syd Sin and Bkk flights offering a wildly different J seat to QF.

@@paulkazzer So, that means that Qantas doesn't have enough aircrafts?
@@Jamie-Fox Thanks for the info 👍
Usually with connections to Europe, that seat is cheaper than ideal and 4pm 388 flights.

To Bangkok

Thanks for the info 👍
Finnair Aircraft a lease to Qantas til new aircraft arrive.
Thanks for the info. Finnair crew as well?
The food is really disappointing for a first class meal. SQ standards have sunk since the pandemic.

Perhaps if he flew out of SIN, he would recieve much better SQ catering.
@@Nodezshow Better chance indeed to have better catering ex-SIN
Looks claustrophobic
The only way to find is try. But I wouldn't say no to a bigger bed 😇
I'm sorry mate, a man in shorts in first class doesn't cut the mustard. But great review anyway - Thank you
Hopefully, I wasn't traveling with flip flop on that day 😁
