- In this video we are going to show you How to Fix VM VirtualBox Error "VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes". You shall need to enable within your Bios. If you don't know how to access your bios, this video will show you.
How to fix VM VirtualBox Error "VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes"
If you are trying to create a new virtual machine using VirtualBox on Windows 10 or any other Windows versions, you will get an error as below:
Not in a hypervisor partition (HVP=0) (VERR_NEM_NOT_AVAILABLE).
VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes (VERR_VMX_MSR_ALL_VMX_DISABLED).
Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
ConsoleWrap
Interface:
IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}
The error “VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes” appears if virtualization is not enabled in your computer. Many computers have the virtualization disabled by default at the BIOS level and it needs to be enabled to set up a new virtual machine.
In this case the error message is very clear. Your CPU virtualization is disabled in the BIOS. You need to reboot in to the BIOS and Enable Virtualization -
We are explaining this for an HP laptop with windows 10 but the solution would be the same for other computers with slight variations in the way they allow enabling virtualization.
Firstly, restart your PC or Laptop, then quickly press escape key with restart. It will show you a list of options associated with different keys. Then press your Bios key to access the bios setup utility page.
Inside the System Configuration Tab. Check if there is Virtualization Technology listed. Then Go to Virtualization Technology. Enable it.

After spending two days, you finally save my time. let me add something for other viewers; some CPU uses F2 options rather than F10 and also they should click F8 for Advance option, however in some CPU you may not find the name "visualization configuration" rather you will find "intel virtualization.." so its the same. after you enable it, make sure you save it using F10 save before you exit.
Thanks man 🙏
One more option. Firstly, restart your PC or Laptop, then quickly press escape key with restart. It will show you a list of options associated with different keys. Then press your Bios key to access the bios setup utility page.

For those who can't see the "system configuration" tab after pressing F10; Go to "security" and then to "system security" you'll find the "virtualization technology" tab. Do as suggested by the author.
