Thanks Owen! haha They aren't the best "all around" or hybrid rods, but if you plan on just nymphing and know the water you're fishing is suited to euro nymphing then you're going to love it. Despite that they can be used quite well for all around stuff and I use one of my 3 euro rods probably 80% of the time. What rod did you get?
Another great video and good information regarding your approach to the water. Thoroughly enjoyed the video and experience! You connected well! Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Yeah, it hasn't been super cold yet, but it seems like February might change that, but luckily March is right around the corner and things start to pick up in March.
Good Video man! I think what would be best to add a small segment(minute or two) how you setup your rig and add a timemark if somebody wants to see just the fishing! Keep it up.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll add this in future videos if I remember. haha A lot of times I forget to even do an intro until later in the day because I'm eager to get fishing.
@@Brownsylvania Yeah I understand you man. I am over here and there is no fishing for about a month until the spawning season is over and I can't wait to get on the water.
What is your rod size and weight.? Fly line type and leader set up.? Is that ur go to set up thru the year ? Or do u change out in the height of the spring hatches ?
My rod here is a 4wt 10'6" with backing that goes to 20lb Amnesia to a tippet ring and then to the tippet. No fly line being used. In this video here I explain my setup ua-cam.com/video/MWQlFI-btDk/v-deo.html I use this for nymphing and streamers year round and carry a reel with fly line for dries in the spring in case I want to cast some dries.
Nice video man. Thnx. I would like more videos like this one! Just would like to know which fly u use (show it on the video) and tell us which size hook... also which water depth and how u tackle it at different depth and different speed... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING! Stay safe and good luck in ur next trip!!
@@Brownsylvania I meant your gear collection like rods and reels~ I am getting into mono rig but wondering what rods would be the best.. Curious what you like to use:)
Howdy, do you have a great day ...I got to get out soon...I used flex seal spray can To seal up my breathable waders, it worked very well ... where did you get your cork wrap? Looks pretty cool ...Peace
I patched my waders that night when I got home with some UV resin that I tie flies with. Worked like a charm for a tiny hole. The wrap is from It Set You Free Outdoors. They are nice! Thanks for watching.
If that's your range I would go with the Simms Freestone waders. I've owned 2 pair over the course of 3 1/2 years and I've fished A LOT. They hold up, just make sure to put them in front of a fan after each outing. Don't want bacteria to grow and then cause leaks.
Oof that’s cold. But similar to the freestone streams around where I live this time of year. And makes sense based on the ice. But still I’m kinda surprised how many players you found in those runs, the water was faster than I would have thought. I clearly have more to learn! Thanks again
Yeah, I was kind of surprised too. I've had days like that in the winter before, but it's not too often that that happens. The water temp could have been higher. I have no idea what it was, that is just my guess. Usually I'll fish runs in the winter when the sun is out.
Thank you! Maybe like very big hellgrammites or something. I think you'd be better off fishing bait fish imitations. I've only caught one smallmouth bass on a nymph ever and it was a stonefly nymph.
That was a great day of fishing there ...its great you have choices like that close to you. Btw what was the water temp ? I find 40 to the mark for me. 36 to 40 and its pretty tough. Although a sunny day this time of year helps alot. Great looking rivet
Thanks for watching! I wouldn't say close. I often travel 1 1/2 - 3 hours to fish. haha I didn't take a temp, but I'm guessing somewhere around 33-35, maybe 36. There was ice higher up on the stream so it had to be on the cooler end I imagine.
If you liked this nymphing video, check out this one as well: ua-cam.com/video/9glrQImDREQ/v-deo.html
No whining about catching fish. Fun video. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
What a day on the water! Your commentary is honest, candid & educational. Keep the awesome videos coming!
Thanks a lot! I will definitely keep them coming.
I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoy them.
Another great video Chuck!
Thanks Gino! We gotta get you back on the water soon. haha
Nice day on the water and good commentary. That was big water, looked like the Little J. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Scott and thanks for watching!
Two of Pennsylvania’s finest right here! Lol! 👊🤫
haha Thank you!
Another awesome video Chuck!!! Just got a euro rod the other week, can’t wait to give it a go! Tight lines, and look forward to the next one!👍🎣💦

What rod did you get?
@@Brownsylvania got a moonshine epiphany 10ft 4wt.
Nice! I was looking at their rods. They look great, but I went with Echo again just because I have come to love their rods.
Nice man I like the amnesia setup too
Thanks for watching! Yup, it's my favorite.
You and your videos just keep getting better and better:) Thanks!
Thanks Bob! Glad you enjoy them.
That’s better than a “not bad” day for winter fishing. Nice work.
haha I appreciate the compliment. Thanks for watching!
Nice catches !
Thanks!
Good job!!! You had a good day! 👍 Tightlines!
Thanks! Tight lines to you as well.
Great video once again!!!
Thank you Mike!

Great video bud 🤘🏼 heck of a day with plenty fish to hand
Yes it was! Thanks for watching.
Wow crushing it! 💪
Thanks!
That’s a great day of winter fishing! It can be tough out there, but you still managed to get on some. Nice video man👊
Thanks a lot and thanks for watching. Yeah winter fishing can be hit or miss, but if you hit it right it can be pretty rewarding.
Great day👊. What video editing software do you use?
Thanks! I use Adobe Premiere Pro CC
Appreciate it!
Nice video man. I've been finding fish to be more active this winter as well. We'll see how that changes, though, given these temps moving in.
Thanks! Yeah, it hasn't been super cold yet, but it seems like February might change that, but luckily March is right around the corner and things start to pick up in March.
Enjoyed the video! Consider doing a tying video for your Stonefly pattern.

What kind of waders do ya have? Any recommendations in the $150 to $300 range?

You're welcome! Thanks for watching. I didn't take a temp, but my guess was 33-35 because there was ice further up on this stream.
