6:10 It's so interesting to notice how the lowest rated players seem to have a refined, unmatched skill to find the worst possible moves in a winning scenario
That was the only move on the board which guaranteed stalemate

    • @Taima
      @Taima 4 місяці тому +3

Desperado* and no, it doesn’t require both sides to hang a piece. Only that one player is in a position that will lose a particular piece but they have the option of making an attack with said piece (either to capture or even just damage an opponent’s own structure/position) before they lose it. Check Chesscom’s definition if you for whatever reason don’t believe it.

so the aim should be to develop the 3 cost pieces, ideally without endangering your already developed pieces in the coming moves that you can calculate.
Here, i'd block with the bishop and if he takes, i would probably take back with the queen.
But there's a chance he pins your knight first by qe7 but you always (need to) go qe2 if that happens. otherwise f5 eats your piece. If he takes the bishop at that point? take back with the previously pinned knight and if he queen trades you have the white square bishop to take back with.
    Apologies for the ramble

    man ur commentary is awesome
notes on time management that worked with me (if you are below 700)
1- DO NOT TRY TO FOLLOW UR OPPONENT'S TIMER, if he didn't make his pace slower like yours he will eventually blunder something. (he will have time to think with your time but with low elo chess they are really impatient and they will eventually make mistakes
2- do not waste much time in opening, like have an opening and a set up you like on black and white and use it. (this will help u be more focused). in case you see a complicated exchange/ an absurd move (like a piece getting in a territory filled with your pieces) take your time to analyze the situation to see if your opponent made a mistake (double check before making your move)
3- have a plan every now and then on what you want (there is no specific timing, basically whenever you feel like there is a big change on board), (you can work these out while your opponent is thinking by predicting the most optimal move in your opponents turn and plan accordingly)
4- give a minimum of whatever the bonus time (you could increase if needed) is for each move to avoid blundering your pieces
5- take your time on exchanges and keep an eye for tricks like forks, pins, or skewers
also evaluate pieces exchanged which is better (unless there is immediate way to gain material/checkmate you don't have to trade)
you can start practicing these rules by adding them one at a time to avoid making them confuse you during the game until you do them unconsciously
and yeah keep up the good content
(also I'm about 1300 if you are curious)

Games like Game 1 are my nightmare scenario, because it’s just a player who’s moving their queen over and over and picking off your pieces one by one, forcing you to abandon whatever your game plan was to defend their bullshit. It’s the next level up from the “tries the Scholar’s Mate/Fried Liver, finds it doesn’t work, then resigns” players at the 200/300 Elo range. Then, whenever you ask higher Elo players for advice, you just get “play defense” or “harass the queen until you have the advantage,” but you never have the advantage, because your shit’s getting sniped the whole time!

I noticed that something you do (and I used to do) is come up with these very complicated and unrealistic plans, and try stubbornly to make them work even if they just really won’t. Try to see how he could stop your plans, and don’t get so dead-set on them!

If your opponent wants to play scandinavian, just decline and push your pawn instead of taking theirs. Now close the position and your practically wonn, because none know how to play in a closed position (I'm currently rated 1200 and they still don't know). Side note that might help: In a closed position the knight is worth more as the bishop, in an open position the bishop is worth more as the knight. With that in mind, try to trade your bishops for his knighs if you actually go for the closed position.

0:50 I saw something in this position that I had to check out in analysis. You actually don't have to defend with qe3. be2 is actually the top engine move because after black plays bxf3, you can play nxc7+ forking the black king and queen. After taking the queen it gets a little messy because white can forcefully win an exchange (bishop for rook) but you're significantly more developed at the end of the line and Stockfish says the position is actually slightly favorable (+0.09).

I assume he’d continue to make content as he improves and sorta end up a bit like Levy - someone who isn’t that low Elo anymore but still understands the mindset and way of thinking and will probably be able to continue to be entertaining as a result with this sorta trademark style of humor of his that he’s been developing.
Also for better or worse, he’s not improving very much it seems. A little while back I got worried cause it seemed like his Elo had been going up a good deal but he seems to currently be trapped in like the low-mid 600s so I think there’ll be time for plenty of content.
I hate how that comes across as condescending or insulting no matter how I want to write it but I really don’t mean it that way. Fairly certain he’d beat me 7/10 times especially since I barely play humans due to being a lil bish who doesnt know how to either not be anxious or not get mad/overwhelmed the second something goes wrong. All my logic and rationality go out the window when I play it sucks. If I played half as much as I consumed UA-cam comment or even reddit posts I’d probably be 700+ by now but noooo

@@Taima Dude's been doing this for a month. If he keeps this up, he'll be 1000 before you know it and within a couple years dude will be giving actual real chess tutorials instead of goofy 600 ELO chess tutorials.

I think I figured it out why you're 700ish, you're just over-tactical to your own detriment, because you calculate something (partially) and get hit with "Oh no, I didn't see that" and it would be maybe better to play safe move instead of partially calculated one that is (hmmm) "edgy". However, fair warning, it's gonna make the game way less fun, I don't think it's worth doing 🤣

Lmfao, you have a good vision, you just need to try to learn to be more logical. Try to see what happens after a move. Also probably my best advice: Try to see where a piece is going, not where it is, will help you blunder less, GGs

You think well bro how are you 600. I believe, if you train just a bit, you can go up to 800 easily.
I recommend learning the London system, the Caro-Kann defence and the King's Indian defence, at this level they are simply OP. Those openings will carry your ass up to 1500, so you can focus more on your general chess mind. Fewer blunders, more ideas, more experience, and you'll be 1000 in less than a month. Then you'll learn more openings, like the English opening, Scandinavian defence etcetera.
