- The second episode involves wire brushing, buffing, polishing, cleaning, and painting.
This is the most important stage to get the best looking results.
I was meticulous and made sure all grease was cleaned and was careful to use light coats of paint to get even coverage on all surfaces. Part 3 is coming and you will not want to miss it!

Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great video series! These videos have been extremely helpful to me while restoring my model 63. I wasn't planning on replacing my quill and pulley bearings but now I am thinking maybe I should. I don't have a press but think I could give it a try using a vice and mallet. Did you purchase 1 of each of the pulley bearings you have linked? And two of the spindle quill bearing you have linked?
Yes, I purchased two identical spindle quill bearings and one larger and one smaller spindle pulley bearing. I would definitely replace those bearings. It is not hard to do with a hammer and dowel. But to be safer, I would look for a local shop to press them. Probably wouldn’t be very much. I only paid $40. But thank you. I am so glad that these videos have been helpful to you!
hi this is Katrina what do you use to edit your pictures?
Hi! I use Photoshop for photos and Corel Videostudio for movies.
More great information, especially glad you included the link to bearing source.
I told my son about finding your video and sent him a link to part 1, so he and my grandsons watched it. The 3 year old suggested using baby wipes to clean the old grease.
Can’t wait for pt 3.
Thank you. Either today or tomorrow I’ll release part 3.
That’s cute they suggested baby wipes. 😂
