This just took me back to my young years. I remember hearing this as a little one. I never knew it was Jan and Dean until today! Thank you for posting!
I was thinking of this song, and then Book of Love by the Monotones came on a tv movie. Maybe I'm crazy, but some parts of baby talk sounded similar to book of love. Did one influence the other? Doo wop was big back then. Love both songs.
The Rockne Daddy, your a special kind of guy, thank you these old songs are great, bring back fun times and memories. Or are you offended because I called you a guy? Hahahahaha! God bless!
HI RetroGuy76 YES IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE WE TOUCHED BASE . OF COURSE THEIR LIP SYNCHING . HOWEVER , THE INTERESTING THING ABOUT THE RECORD IS THE AUDIO ENGINEER'S BRILLIANT USE OF ' TAPE ECHO ' TO MAKE JAN AND DEAN SOUND LIKE A ' DOO-WOP ' QUARTETTE . WHEN I FIRST HEARD THIS ON THE RADIO I WAS FOOLED INTO THINKING THAT IT WAS A QUARTETTE . HAVE A GOOD ONE !
Would anybody have any idea where this segment was filmed in 1959 and if anybody was there what I love about this video is the camera turned around towards the audience and caught a young lady singing along I thought that was adorable would anybody happen to know Who is that young lady was
These guys will live on for ever and there music!!
Still pissed off at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame REFUSING to put Jan & Dean in.
Is that a thing?
For sure.
They deserved to be featured!! Hey, it was good enough for the Beach Boys (1988)🎶🎤🎶 why not Jan & Dean, or Dick Dale?!🎸🎤
You're kidding right?
Like many other 50s rock and vocallers
Loved Jan & Dean from the first time I heard them. I'm 71 now and still love them.
American Bandstand
1959
A blast from
My past 😊
i do to
I'm 80 was in 8th grade with this
These guys bridged the gap between Doo-Wop and rock and roll.
Great insight...
and surfin music
Doo wop technology is rock n roll
Between Doo-wop and Pop I'd say!
True, they considered themselves Doo-Woppers.
This kicked ass, I always loved there music live on Jan and Dean.
The unforgettable Jan & Dean doing the very first hit. "Awesome"!
Jan & Dean. My kind of music. Yours too.
I was an eight year old when I saw this clip on our old black and white back then. This song was my favorite at the time.
Can’t believe Dick Clark and those boys up on Bandstand as early in their career as ‘59.
Another great record from 1959
Dick Clark's Saturday nite Beechnut Gum Show, great old nugget!
It's flavorific.
Always loved them and Elvis!
Love this song, just love them
Love this song ! It's one of my favorites ! I also like She's still talkin' baby talk --kinda completes the "story'' :-) very cute songs
Their first& one of my favorites& one of their best

Funny to see them in their "flat top" years :0) It's at the same time a bit silly and feel good.
Benoit Vanhees, flat top boogies, you mean.
You are the first person aside from myself that I've seen use a smile with a nose. Pretty based and epic if you ask me :0)
@@kevinceniceros1690 i got one of those before, high maintenance haircut because if you let it grow out too long you end up with a mullet

Love J and D 🤗💕
One of the best songs
The Rockne Daddy, your a special kind of guy, thank you these old songs are great, bring back fun times and memories. Or are you offended because I called you a guy? Hahahahaha! God bless!
I'm reading Dean's new book "The Jan & Dean Story" pretty interesting to hear about about the people who run through their lives ~
Thanks! for the share👍~I'll ✔
Adorable song Jan ,and Dean baby talk 🦜
Still a cool look!
Those flat tops never go out of style.
Love this song
Kinds corny but I like this song alot.
Those teens in the audience would all be at least 80 now. The ones that are still living at least.
I wished that I was a little kid during those days but I was born in December 1966 instead.
Me, May 1961. Would be great to have a time machine, but there aren't any around :-(
@@lynnkanerva5005 You're listening to one right now.
I do like the aesthetic of the 1950s that clean cut look.
Gem!
OOOOh they're the Ginchiest! LOL! Gimme another Flavorific gum!
pbruc brooks Wrong! They're the "maximum utmost"!!!
they all did back in Dick Clark's day

@@egbertsouce3895 Yes, that was the other one. This looks so Corny!
Still love 'em! Pretty cool for two white guys in 1959, eh???
I'm surprised Jan and Dean didn't cover the Martian Hop.
TESORO DE GRABACIONES VALEN ORO PARA LOS AMANTES DE LA BELLA MÚSICA,
the beach boys are more greatest
(Song) Released in May, 1959
So süß!
Similar to "Who Wrote The Book Of Love".
I was thinking the SAME thing , and ididn't even read your comment till after I wrote mine.
génial
et avant les beach boys
👍👍👍👍💕💕💕💕🥰🌺💕🤗🤗
Doo wop meets surf music...
Great Song! Jesus Loves You My Dear Friends! John 3:16

There are videos about the kids who danced on American Bandstand.
They should be on there.
Good luck.
Looks like from the UK for some reason.
Is this there song or did The Laurels write it who done it first ?
One of the guys in the Laurels wrote the song
While I do love Jan and Dean's version the best is the original by the Laurels on Spring record label
I don't think that's Dean. I know Arnie recorded the song with Jan. I think Dean was in college then.
It’s totally Dean. Arnie was gone before Baby Talk.
Thats Dean ..Arnie recorded Jennie Lee...with Jan .
Km
Look what they honor instead! What a waste of
