As a professional truck driver, driving school instructor, and former law enforcement officer in the US, BEWARE of tricks, traps and subtle nuances between Thailand and the US. A typical example is fleeing the scene of an accident. Thailand presumes an admission of guilt. In the US it's a separate criminal offense to flee but all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law..
Also, be aware of about a dozen interpretations of the upside down triangle. In the US it's simplified meaning Yield Right Of Way under all circumstances. Etc etc.
And ALWAYS keep in mind the overarching rule of all driving, Only When Safe. This supersedes all traffic laws and road signs. I once ticketed a person for getting into an accident, striking a safety barrier. He was driving 20 MPH in a 50 MPH zone. The road was flooded in very heavy rain. This sounds like LEO over reach but suppose instead of striking the barrier he hit another vehicle that had stopped obeying the only when safe rule. Conditions Permitting!!!
