Forbidden was insanely heavy. The first time that I hear "Through Eyes of Glass", I was just blown away. And even now...a couple of decades later, it is just as skull crushing!
Since 1985, under the name "Forbidden Evil". They changed their name to just "Forbidden" in '87. Good news is they're touring and writing a new record!
I have this on VHS and have not seen it in over 20 years, it still gives me chills watching this. One of the most under rated bands of that era. Skill beyond skill and riffs to make you want to choke a bitch.
Dude, I was there in the late 90's and pray for a comeback. The fact that you're youing and talented gives me hope that there may be a return to great music such as this!!! :) Check out Death, Cynic, Atheist, Sadus etc as well as the European favs such as Kreator et al!!!! Good luck!
@ChevoB Yeah! Man...I thought that KD's Abigail freaking smoked! Gave me chills too. The 7th Day of July 1777 and the Black Horsemen. What a wicked album! I liked how Andy's guitar contrasted with Michael Denner. Those were the days of the best metal. Forbidden and King Diamond.
This was absolutely THE SHIT in 1990! The guitarists (Glen Alviadis(?) and Craig Locicero) just rip on this whole album, and Russ Anderson's high notes rule.Hard to find, out of print...
I'm with you, tehpown. Those high notes along with the gruff vocals are the shit. He can peel the fuckin paint off the wall with those screams. One of their biggest influences was Judas Priest (they cover Victim of Changes), so do the math...
Man, I think they were one of the most underrated thrash bands back then. I think if they would have come along on the scene before Testament, they would have been bigger. No knock to Testament at all, as they were about as good as it got back then, but the two bands are similar and maybe that's why they didn't hit it bigger?? I don't know, but they were great.
This takes us all back to a time when a metal band wasn't afraid to play more than 3 detuned chords, strap sex toys to their face, and they didn't think it was cool to buy low-end BC Rich guitars thinking they sound awsome through a Line-6.
I somewhat always thought that the vocals could have been toned down a bit. They were too much like Helloween's singer with all the high pitched stuff. I think that may have been there downfall in not getting into the hard scene, they could be big today if it wasn't for those high vocal screams and sh*t. Just my opinion.....
these guys r cool and all but this is like the only ripping song on forbidden evil. the rest was boring. i bought this right when it came out. their second cd was way better
once again awsome singing and great guitar work,80's rule
my fav album of all time!!!
Forbidden was insanely heavy. The first time that I hear "Through Eyes of Glass", I was just blown away. And even now...a couple of decades later, it is just as skull crushing!

Russ was by far one of the best metal vocalists of late 80s, awesome stuff!
amen brother
Yeah...a full on thrashsterpiece! That was a pretty amazing time in metal. Man...how things have changed.
Once I saw this video...1. I was in love with Forbidden 2. I knew I wanted to play guitar!

Fuck yeah, i saw this about 13 years ago never thought I'd see it again, internet fuckin rocks...Eyes of glass.....
this is from a vhs tape called ultimate revenge 2.this rocks! the tape also includes a very early version of death and a young chuck shuldiner.
Awesome friggin tape! we used to have it!
Damn, this song has the most crushing rhythm, Paul Bostaph is so under-rated still!
Craig's riffs freaking kill!
Great energy, killer thrash, thats for sure
Great thrash metal band!
This just kicks ass, period.

Recuerdo que la primera vez que lo vi fue en el canal 27 uhf entre 1989 y 1990,de la puta madre.....grande Forbidden.....
Actually this was a riff that Robb Flynn (Vio-lence, Machine Head) came up with before leaving Forbidden.
@ChevoB

Hail Forbidden, I'll see them at Graspop.
Its soooo fast lol. If you can find them demo version of this and then compare it to this version, its like doubletime! I love this version.

yeah, im into the old school stuff.
priest maiden vio artillery (:
@cmonsterz That song makes me invision if King Diamond's 'Abigail' lineup played Thrash Metal. It has the same chilling feeling in the guitar tune.
@killywea you want to see a moshpit? check obituary's turned inside out at the marquee early 90's or sacred reich's death squad at dynamo late 80's
Dude, you rule for noticing that!
metaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, FUK YEAH
Man that's good, Russ can really wail!
(Obscure Wayne's World references FTW!)
with this video you can see that thrash metal is the most difficult genre of music to play ever....THRASH TILL DEATH!
man that is some ball clenching high notes
It's extremely heavy!
Esprcially Paul Bostaph on the drums
1:25 that IS a moshpit!!

Love Forbidden. Sounds like Sebastian Bach fronting Slayer (a good thing).

It had some of this footage in it.
I know of no girl who listens to metal at where i live haha.
