  • Before building work begins on the new Cloister Gallery, archaeological investigations are being carried out. Cathedral Archaeologist, John Allan, reveals some of the fascinating finds uncovered by the recent investigations including a Roman town house and fortress and the graves of high status individuals.

    John mentions the walls are made of a white limestone. What limestone? I thought the main walls were of Salcombe Stone and Beer Stone - which is a chalk - which was used for the image screen. Could you let me know about the limestone.
