But each of them are also incredible soloists themselves, and so when they are not promoting as SHINee they work in that capacity. Key, for example, has just wrapped up his concert tour On And On, but with his razor sharp wit, photographic kinaesthetic memory, and comedic timing he also is a fixed member of variety shows I Live Alone (the episodes highlighting Key’s life are extremely popular) as well as Amazing Saturday. Soloist Onew left SM as well, starting his own record label with friend Griffin, and is preparing to drop a new album very soon. Minho is preparing another solo album, but is also an actor currently in a drama and will be a cast member of an upcoming play. So they are all extremely busy! Really, with 16 years as idols, they are all top vocalists, dancers and performers. Jonghyun’s incredible legacy of music is also definitely worth exploring. As someone who’s seen Taemin for the first time I really loved how you instantly knew he must be very special. He truly is! He was definitely born to become a star that he is today. It's okay to discover Kpop's real deal 10 years after his solo debut. I only found Taemin last year. It's insane I managed to miss him all these years damnit! But lol it's never too late! Well as they say once you're Taemin-ed you can't exit!
Taemin has been in the industry for more than 16 years as part of the legendary 5-member Kpop group SHINee (under SM Entertainment) and he has been a solo artist since 2014. (This year is Taemin's 10th anniversary as a solo artist.) "Sexy in the Air" is his lead track on his 5th mini Korean solo album named Eternal, and first release under his new company Big Planet Made (as a soloist). Taemin is the main dancer and a main vocalist of SHINee. However, because he's a member of SHINee, this means he can do it all. SHINee are known for the fact that there are no longer any fixed roles in their group, the main vocalists can rap and the rappers can fill in as main vocalists at any moment. Although, what they are really recognized for is the fact that they are one of the best vocal groups to ever exist. All of the SHINee members are top tier singers and dancers. You may find this hard to believe, but when Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee way back in 2008, he didn't have a whole lot of lines in their songs. People even used to make fun of Taemin's singing and they would say that he was tone deaf and couldn't sing. However, it's sort of a misconception that Taemin "couldn't sing." it wasn't that he couldn't sing, it was just that he debuted when he was so young -- he was only 14 years old -- that his voice hadn't really developed yet and he didn't really have a good grasp of how to use his voice and produce the sounds he wanted with it. So, in the beginning, when he sang, he was often flat or his voice cracked or he was off key or out of tune, etc. And because he was being compared to the other members of SHINee who are all 2 to 4 years older than him, and the other members had such phenomenal voices to start out with, it really made Taemin sound like he was lacking. (SHINee are considered THE premier vocal group that everyone dreams of being as good as.) That's why in SHINee's first few songs Taemin only has a few lines, and most of the time he was just given big solo dance breaks to fill the stage at his parts in the song. However, if he was really tone deaf, he never would have become an SM Idol trainee -- SM would have put him on the dance track and probably steered him toward becoming a backup dancer -- and he definitely would have never become the amazing singer that he is today. As you probably know, someone who is truly tone deaf is physically unable to hear the difference in the notes and is unable to carry a tune. Taemin is considered one of the greatest dancers of all time. He has literally been voted one of the top two BEST dancers in all of Kpop by his peers and industry experts. (Kai from EXO -- who happens to be Taemin's best friend since trainee days, and a fellow member of the SM supergroup, SuperM -- is the other top dancer.) That is why Taemin has been nicknamed the Korean Michael Jackson. Literally everyone in the Kpop industry looks up to Taemin and idolizes him. But Taemin really wanted to prove to everyone that he wasn't just a dancer, so he spent a lot of extra time concentrating on vocal lessons and the other SHINee members -- especially Onew and Jonghyun (two of the best vocalists in the industry) -- spent some serious time coaching and mentoring him until he learned what it took to match their vocal range and to use his voice. (For the first year or more after SHINee's debut Taemin spent hours in vocal lessons and he would push himself every day until his nose would bleed because he was so tired and worn out, etc. He practically lived in the training rooms at SM Entertainment.) The ONLY thing the members of SHINee are not good at is lip syncing, so Taemin, and all the members of SHINee, have specifically trained since their debut, to build stamina and endurance, in order to be able to sing live for 3+ hours straight in concert, all while performing these intense choreographies and still sound flawless. When you watch a live performance, you may be shocked because Taemin and SHINee sound so perfect live even though they are dancing so intensely, but that is why they are so highly respected by everyone. It's a running joke between fans and the members that you can tell when SHINee are lip syncing because they are so bad at it, that is why they avoid it at all costs. Therefore, when you hear SHINee sing, 95% of the time it will be live. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing than they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, what you will hear is live vocals. Other Idols and audio sound technicians, etc. who have witnessed the SHINee members performing live are always blown away, because in the parts of the song where most singers would take a break and rely on the backing track vocals to cover their voices so they can catch their breath and recover, this is where the SHINee members actually ramp it up and become their most powerful. Therefore, in Taemin's live performance you will discover that he sounds even better than in the recorded version, all while dancing full out. What makes SHINee so great is that even if they are singing acapella while performing this high energy choreography, they sound just as amazing. That's why, even as rookies, senior artists would stop what they were doing to watch SHINee's rehearsals on music programs because SHINee's vocal talent is that impressive. When SHINee debuted, they were the first group to demonstrate how it was possible to sing live while performing complex choreography and still maintain stable vocals. (Which was even more impressive because they were also one of the youngest idol groups to debut at the time, with the members all between the age of 18-14 years old.) Before SHINee, the thought within the industry was that it wasn't possible to sing live and also perform high intensity choreography at the same time. At that time, most groups would either sing live and have simple choreography, or they would have crazy cool choreography, but lip sync to their recorded vocals. SHINee completely changed the Kpop industry and upped the standard of what it meant to be an idol singer. Taemin -- and SHINee -- live is unmatched. It's literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard that all other groups strive to reach, and SHINee are the vocalists that all other artists try to emulate. Taemin has released at least one song or album -- most of the time way more than just one -- as part of SHINee, as a member of a project group, as a solo artist or as a member of SuperM every year since SHINee's debut. (Except for 2022 because he was on hiatus while he carried out his public service duties as part of his military requirements.) Therefore, including his full-length albums, mini albums, and singles, etc., as well as his Japanese albums, Taemin has more than a dozen solo albums. Not to mention the 2 albums he has as a member of SuperM. And on top of all that, SHINee currently has 14 full-length Korean and Japanese albums, just as many repackaged albums, numerous mini albums, etc. Plus, he has held many solo concert tours, as well as a world tour as a member of SuperM, and SHINee has held more than 100 concerts within 6 world tours so far. He’s been active in the music industry in South Korea for almost 17 years now. He debuted as a member of kpop group SHINee in 2008 when he was 14 and hasn’t stopped working since. He also became a soloist 10 years ago so he has a lot of experience and has worked hard to become one of the top soloists of the kpop industry. He is highly respected by pretty much everyone and is IMO the best dancer in kpop and an amazing vocalist. I don’t think you’ll regret diving down this rabbit hole and finding out more about him. He truly deserves to be known worldwide as an outstanding artist and performer.

Taemin is one of the most avant-garde and creative artists I‘ve ever seen and not only in kpop. He is a great performer, excellent dancer and a great singer.. the full package. He is also called idol of the idols in Kpop. Actually I am not a big kpop fan as it‘s too repetitive for me and I am a HUUUUGE fan of TAEMIN. He is different, very authentic, one of a kind. Oh you found taemin. He is a great soloist and (also kind of a boy group called SHINee). This kind of attitude and confidence and his moves are what he is famous for. He is calked M of kpop. I really like his songs Guilty, Criminal and Advice (they have music videos too). He is also a good vocalist. Thank you for your reaction. In the business since he was 14. Now 31 y o. A story much like Michael Jackson. Oh what a trip you are ready to take. The TAEMIN warp is awesome so it’s time to catch up with the rest of the world😁. He is considered the idol of idols. Choreographers across the world would give everything to work with him. I was lucky enough to discovered him performing on a UA-cam video “The Call” singing a song “You are my standard”. They aren’t necessarily reaction worthy but tells you a lot about him. He co-created that song and then I followed it up with his ”The Call” performance of Pinocchio which he also co-created. A great show where K-pop idols perform for each other. That was all I needed and I became an avid fan. The ADVICE MV is utterly electric. I say even better than this one. He followed it with GUILTY & RIZZNESS last October. He considers them a set with CRIMINAL. I call them musical vengeance against the ones trying to control him. You have to go to the SHINee channel to see these. He left his long time agency in March. We all think he was being poorly used there so very glad he left. His soul moves his body in stunning ways. There is NO ONE like TAEMIN🫠.

I know people have said it in the comments already but this is truly no ordinary kpop idol, this is THEE Lee Taemin. The male soloist of all male soloists. He isn’t called “the idol of idols”for nothing. When Taemin is around, other idols simply become fans like everyone else 😆 Many of the current fourth and fifth gen idols have said that they were inspired to become idols because of Taemin or SHINee. His talent is recognized so widely that he currently has Kany (a worldwide dancer and choreographer who’s choreographed for Beyoncé before) and Ashley Everett (Beyoncé’s former dance captain) as well as other dancers who have danced for Beyoncé and Madonna before, performing with him on music shows for this comeback. Kany choreographed SHINee’s song “Hard” and she became close to SHINee from that, before that she was a HUGE fan of them and she really respects Taemin as a dancer. Taemin debuted as SHINee’s main dancer at the age of 14 so you can imagine not just the talent but the amount of hard work he’s done since. I hope you continue your Taemin journey! He looks very young but he's actually a part of one of the most influential groups in the 2nd generation of the genre, about 31 years old I believe? He's very talented. He’s a veteran but all Kpop idols have their trainee period. No one debuts without a certain level of performance quality. It’s not like western pop. But I saw Taemin perform live & “To witness him…” You got that right! He just steps out & greets the audience “it” just gushes out of him. It’s like in his DNA.

Very famous as a dancer, but his vocals are top tier too. He's also part of the massive kpop group SHINee, also legends of the industry and some of the most talented artists, individually and together (all 5 of them have solo careers). They are all powerhouses 💎 If you want recommendations, I suggest Taemin's Criminal, IDEA, Advice and Guilty, and go from there, there's so much good stuff. If you're interested in SHINee, try Hard, View, 1 of 1, Juice. Their live performances are where they shine even more, something like Replay (SWC5), Ring Ding Dong + Lucifer (SWC5), Excuse Me Miss (SWC4). When it comes to performing and live vocals SHINee do not mess around. They're contemporary rnb, but are experimental and were and are trendsetters for the kpop industry.

In my opinion, Taemin is the best dance singer alive (combine singing, dancing, style and performance). However, this song is my least favorite title track among his pieces during 2017 till now. Maybe because he just changed the company and the work quality is not well controlled (but this whole album is his new attempt and worth listening to). "Sexy in the Air" is his lead track on his 5th mini Korean solo album named Eternal, and first release under his new company Big Planet Made (as a soloist).
Taemin is the main dancer and a main vocalist of SHINee. However, because he's a member of SHINee, this means he can do it all. SHINee are known for the fact that there are no longer any fixed roles in their group, the main vocalists can rap and the rappers can fill in as main vocalists at any moment. Although, what they are really recognized for is the fact that they are one of the best vocal groups to ever exist. All of the SHINee members are top tier singers and dancers.
You may find this hard to believe, but when Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee way back in 2008, he didn't have a whole lot of lines in their songs. People even used to make fun of Taemin's singing and they would say that he was tone deaf and couldn't sing. However, it's sort of a misconception that Taemin "couldn't sing." it wasn't that he couldn't sing, it was just that he debuted when he was so young -- he was only 14 years old -- that his voice hadn't really developed yet and he didn't really have a good grasp of how to use his voice and produce the sounds he wanted with it. So, in the beginning, when he sang, he was often flat or his voice cracked or he was off key or out of tune, etc.
And because he was being compared to the other members of SHINee who are all 2 to 4 years older than him, and the other members had such phenomenal voices to start out with, it really made Taemin sound like he was lacking. (SHINee are considered THE premier vocal group that everyone dreams of being as good as.) That's why in SHINee's first few songs Taemin only has a few lines, and most of the time he was just given big solo dance breaks to fill the stage at his parts in the song.
However, if he was really tone deaf, he never would have become an SM Idol trainee -- SM would have put him on the dance track and probably steered him toward becoming a backup dancer -- and he definitely would have never become the amazing singer that he is today. As you probably know, someone who is truly tone deaf is physically unable to hear the difference in the notes and is unable to carry a tune.
Taemin is considered one of the greatest dancers of all time. He has literally been voted one of the top two BEST dancers in all of Kpop by his peers and industry experts. (Kai from EXO -- who happens to be Taemin's best friend since trainee days, and a fellow member of the SM supergroup, SuperM -- is the other top dancer.) That is why Taemin has been nicknamed the Korean Michael Jackson. Literally everyone in the Kpop industry looks up to Taemin and idolizes him.
But Taemin really wanted to prove to everyone that he wasn't just a dancer, so he spent a lot of extra time concentrating on vocal lessons and the other SHINee members -- especially Onew and Jonghyun (two of the best vocalists in the industry) -- spent some serious time coaching and mentoring him until he learned what it took to match their vocal range and to use his voice. (For the first year or more after SHINee's debut Taemin spent hours in vocal lessons and he would push himself every day until his nose would bleed because he was so tired and worn out, etc. He practically lived in the training rooms at SM Entertainment.)
The ONLY thing the members of SHINee are not good at is lip syncing, so Taemin, and all the members of SHINee, have specifically trained since their debut, to build stamina and endurance, in order to be able to sing live for 3+ hours straight in concert, all while performing these intense choreographies and still sound flawless. When you watch a live performance, you may be shocked because Taemin and SHINee sound so perfect live even though they are dancing so intensely, but that is why they are so highly respected by everyone.
It's a running joke between fans and the members that you can tell when SHINee are lip syncing because they are so bad at it, that is why they avoid it at all costs. Therefore, when you hear SHINee sing, 95% of the time it will be live.
Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing than they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, what you will hear is live vocals.
Other Idols and audio sound technicians, etc. who have witnessed the SHINee members performing live are always blown away, because in the parts of the song where most singers would take a break and rely on the backing track vocals to cover their voices so they can catch their breath and recover, this is where the SHINee members actually ramp it up and become their most powerful.
Therefore, in Taemin's live performance you will discover that he sounds even better than in the recorded version, all while dancing full out. What makes SHINee so great is that even if they are singing acapella while performing this high energy choreography, they sound just as amazing. That's why, even as rookies, senior artists would stop what they were doing to watch SHINee's rehearsals on music programs because SHINee's vocal talent is that impressive.
When SHINee debuted, they were the first group to demonstrate how it was possible to sing live while performing complex choreography and still maintain stable vocals. (Which was even more impressive because they were also one of the youngest idol groups to debut at the time, with the members all between the age of 18-14 years old.) Before SHINee, the thought within the industry was that it wasn't possible to sing live and also perform high intensity choreography at the same time. At that time, most groups would either sing live and have simple choreography, or they would have crazy cool choreography, but lip sync to their recorded vocals. SHINee completely changed the Kpop industry and upped the standard of what it meant to be an idol singer.
Taemin -- and SHINee -- live is unmatched. It's literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard that all other groups strive to reach, and SHINee are the vocalists that all other artists try to emulate.
Taemin has released at least one song or album -- most of the time way more than just one -- as part of SHINee, as a member of a project group, as a solo artist or as a member of SuperM every year since SHINee's debut. (Except for 2022 because he was on hiatus while he carried out his public service duties as part of his military requirements.) Therefore, including his full-length albums, mini albums, and singles, etc., as well as his Japanese albums, Taemin has more than a dozen solo albums. Not to mention the 2 albums he has as a member of SuperM. And on top of all that, SHINee currently has 14 full-length Korean and Japanese albums, just as many repackaged albums, numerous mini albums, etc. Plus, he has held many solo concert tours, as well as a world tour as a member of SuperM, and SHINee has held more than 100 concerts within 6 world tours so far. You have a TON to catch up on. :D
Now you need to check out Taemin's Killing Voice performance. I have a feeling when you watch his Killing Voice you will find that hearing him sing his songs live, that you will be even more impressed. There is a reason why Taemin is like none other.

He’s been active in the music industry in South Korea for almost 17 years now. He debuted as a member of kpop group SHINee in 2008 when he was 14 and hasn’t stopped working since. He also became a soloist 10 years ago so he has a lot of experience and has worked hard to become one of the top soloists of the kpop industry. He is highly respected by pretty much everyone and is IMO the best dancer in kpop and an amazing vocalist. I don’t think you’ll regret diving down this rabbit hole and finding out more about him. He truly deserves to be known worldwide as an outstanding artist and performer.

He also called as Michael Jackson of Korea (because of the vibes and also MJ was his inspiration at his young age), Idol of Idols, Ace of Kpop and Blueprint of Kpop. Oh you found taemin. He is a great soloist and (also kind of a boy group called SHINee). This kind of attitude and confidence and his moves are what he is famous for. He is calked M of kpop. I really like his songs Guilty, Criminal and Advice (they have music videos too). He is also a good vocalist.

Taemin has been a member of the Korean group SHINee since 2008. Taemin went freelance as a solo singer and in August 2014 released his solo debut album. It's great that you have discovered a new talented artist. 👍 Please also check out Hua Chenyu from China. He's one of the most brilliant artists we have at the moment.

If you are interested in reacting to Hua Chenyu, then his cover/rearrangement of the song Nunchucks would be a good start (go to "The Baby Bamboo" channel who provided this song with English subs). He is extremley versatile and sings many genres. You can never know what to expect from his next song. I think you need at least three very different performances from him to see if you like him or not.

He is considered the idol of idols. Choreographers across the world would give everything to work with him.
I was lucky enough to discovered him performing on a UA-cam video “The Call” singing a song “You are my standard”. They aren’t necessarily reaction worthy but tells you a lot about him. He co-created that song and then I followed it up with his ”The Call” performance of Pinocchio which he also co-created. A great show where K-pop idols perform for each other. That was all I needed and I became an avid fan.
The ADVICE MV is utterly electric. I say even better than this one. He followed it with GUILTY & RIZZNESS last October. He considers them a set with CRIMINAL.
I call them musical vengeance against the ones trying to control him. You have to go to the SHINee channel to see these. He left his long time agency in March. We all think he was being poorly used there so very glad he left.
His soul moves his body in stunning ways. There is NO ONE like TAEMIN🫠.

Yyyeeesss Taemin!!!! I can’t believe you just stumbled upon him but it’s the best discovery you’ll make this year I promise. I know people have said it in the comments already but this is truly no ordinary kpop idol, this is THEE Lee Taemin. The male soloist of all male soloists. He isn’t called “the idol of idols”for nothing. When Taemin is around, other idols simply become fans like everyone else 😆 Many of the current fourth and fifth gen idols have said that they were inspired to become idols because of Taemin or SHINee. His talent is recognized so widely that he currently has Kany (a worldwide dancer and choreographer who’s choreographed for Beyoncé before) and Ashley Everett (Beyoncé’s former dance captain) as well as other dancers who have danced for Beyoncé and Madonna before, performing with him on music shows for this comeback. Kany choreographed SHINee’s song “Hard” and she became close to SHINee from that, before that she was a HUGE fan of them and she really respects Taemin as a dancer. Taemin debuted as SHINee’s main dancer at the age of 14 so you can imagine not just the talent but the amount of hard work he’s done since. I hope you continue your Taemin journey! I truly don’t think you’ll regret it 😁
In the KPOP community, typically most of the top artists look up to him as their inspiration. He looks very young but he's actually a part of one of the most influential groups in the 2nd generation of the genre, about 31 years old I believe? He's very talented. Great video, it's so cool that you just stumbled across him! Taemin is hugely successful and influential in the kpop industry, his discography is large and flawless (imo haha). Very famous as a dancer, but his vocals are top tier too. He's also part of the massive kpop group SHINee, also legends of the industry and some of the most talented artists, individually and together (all 5 of them have solo careers). They are all powerhouses 💎
If you want recommendations, I suggest Taemin's Criminal, IDEA, Advice and Guilty, and go from there, there's so much good stuff.
If you're interested in SHINee, try Hard, View, 1 of 1, Juice. Their live performances are where they shine even more, something like Replay (SWC5), Ring Ding Dong + Lucifer (SWC5), Excuse Me Miss (SWC4). When it comes to performing and live vocals SHINee do not mess around. They're contemporary rnb, but are experimental and were and are trendsetters for the kpop industry.

In my opinion, Taemin is the best dance singer alive (combine singing, dancing, style and performance). However, this song is my least favorite title track among his pieces during 2017 till now. Maybe because he just changed the company and the work quality is not well controlled (but this whole album is his new attempt and worth listening to).
