Calv, The button in the boot is too make the folded roof raised to give you room in the boot, essentially it will put the whole roof mechanism in the air so you can load luggage and then fold it back down on top

I owned a 430d and had it stage one mapped which helped the bhp to 313 but kicked the torque figures up massively, the thing was a monster being RWD only! These cars are a way to get into a luxury brand with big power at a sensible price. Everyone should try one....
These X35D are great motors, I had one a few years back and they are a beast. Loved it had to sell as not doing the mileage etc to need it but miss it every day.
Had my 435d coupe a couple of years...great car to drive had it mapped by EAG motors offord, now 360bhp 700nm torque, and still getting a average 35mpg in sports setting would be higher is in comfort. Great value for money think mine would easily do 20 - 70 mid 4secs. Oh they are pretty looking too, always get comments....white with black wheels on spacers, carbon mirrors, carbon boot spoiler upgraded rear defuser and kidney grills...looks the biz

I have a 2014 100k 435D M-Sport X-Drive Coupe with almost the same spec but yours has a few extras like Comfort Access, Surround Camera and Reversing Camera. I love the performance although will be doing some "Mods" to it like Intercooler upgrade etc and probably some coil overs, still thinking about maybe a M4 bodykit though. Only thing I don't like is the exhaust but getting my brother to make a custom exhaust for me to make it louder because it's to quiet. I am the 2nd owner and the previouss owner looked after it really well.
I had an F30 335d xdrive for nearly 4 years and loved it. I’m now only doing 5k a year so switched to an M4 recently…launching the car is similar, more so in the wet. But whilst rolling, the M4 is much quicker…but the 335d was quicker than most others on the road.
@@Thuds593 which one? I’ve got drw600s in my m4. I’ve also now got a 2020 435d GC and it’s stage 1 (400bhp) with a stage 3 xhp gearbox tune. Runs 1/4 mile in 11.91 and 0-60 in 3.65.
Slap it into launch control and you’ll get high 4 seconds easily, my stock f30 330d has done a 4.89 seconds 0-60 verified which is a little quicker than bmw claim, also made more power in than bmw claim in stock form which is common as they are known to run a little more bhp than claimed

Luckily mine was also very well speced by the original owner 😎 total sleeper and cruiser but oooooft when you floor it 😍🔥🔥🔥 mine is on 57000 mine has also got the stage 1 map so just under 400bhp can't remember the torque...unreal for a oil burner and getting 44mpg 😂 better than my Mazda 3 2.2d was getting hahaha
I'm guessing it doesn't have warranty anymore, right? Thinking about remapping mine but got a year's warranty left on it so super sceptical about that. Doesn't pull anywhere as hard as my 140 did :/

Once the m4 is mapped maybe it would then pull away. Mine has been timed 0-60 in 4.1 seconds as the convertible is heavier than my gran coupe

the fact a 635d beat the newer 435d x drive makes me wonder if the x drive is sucking the power and speed a little or if its purely a weight thing but surely the 635d is a similar weight to the 435d x drive convertible maybe having the roof down effected it a little too

@@lukethekanefan yeah it surprised me too, imo the 435ds are traffic light beasts but run out of puff on the motorway where something like an M4 will pull away easily. From a standstill though with uk weather the 435d deffo gives an M4 a run for its money while getting almost 40mpg
I enjoyed mine but really annoyed me in the winter with the front windows freezing solid and not dropping when you opened the door. i would drive to work with the window bent out of the trim and not sealing which just frustrated the shit out of me.

I absolutely Love these cars Calvin, I was looking for the Petrol version a while back, couldn’t find a great example and ended up buying a Audi TT Turbo 😂 Please get a 435i Calvin and compare that to a M4, that would be so much more closer and extremely interesting to see
my old stage 2 E46 330d (300hp, 625nm) had an encounter with one if these. Just about even from 60 onwards. I think there is a gearbox upgrade which increases the torque rating and transforms it from a ZF8HP70 (700nm max) to a ZF8HP90 (900nm max) for added peace of mind as a remap will push it over its max torque rating.
We had a x6 4d, much the same engine as the 435d, a 3 litre with 2 turbos, big heavy beast but I always remember beating a wee guy in a type r civic with drain pipe exhaust and all the boy racer add ons and finding it quite amusing. Ive just bought a merc e class coupe with the 3 litre 265 bhp diesel , had it remapped (about 300bhp) and love it too, like you say drive it sensibly and you're in the 30s for mpg but it will get a shift on when you give it some, I hated diesels when I was younger but I wouldn't buy another petrol, not until they price diesels off the road with higher road tax or £5 a litre fuel prices, neither of which would surprise me.

i went from 335d to 435i stage 2...x drive is not a bmw ...i didn't like 335d...but mpg was amazing even with 380bhp...now i love my 435i..sounds great..pushing power like crazy and still 27-29mpg if i drive like a normal human and not a bmw wanker:)
To answer your question, all the horse about diesels just gave me an excuse to buy an x3 m40i mate. Managed to even convince the missus it was better value than the 20i ;) fucking 4.6 0-60 official time is rubbish too, getting 4.2 🤣

On a diesel you have to brake boost it to get the best times to help with the boost lag

The button raises the roof when it's down, when you need to access something in the boot compartment. Obviously the roof goes into the boot.

Probably a weight thing, 200kg is a lot of weight. 635d weighs roughly the same as a coupe 435d

It would be better than an m4 around housing neighbourhood's slowing and accelerating at speed humps & fuel economy.
Give it a little tune and you'll see a massive difference. I love winding up the M3 drivers 😊

i went from 335d to 435i stage 2...x drive is not a bmw ...i didn't like 335d...but mpg was amazing even with 380bhp...now i love my 435i..sounds great..pushing power like crazy and still 27-29mpg if i drive like a normal human and not a bmw wanker:)
To answer your question, all the horse about diesels just gave me an excuse to buy an x3 m40i mate. Managed to even convince the missus it was better value than the 20i ;) fucking 4.6 0-60 official time is rubbish too, getting 4.2 🤣

My std 435d does it in 4.79 on the dragy so shows how much the weight does for it.

My 435d stage 1 gran coupe is also a lot quicker than the convertible I have timed 0-60 at 4.1 seconds this one on the video seems slow. The weight won't help and a remapped definitely would
Gotta love a BMW 😍 18k ! Cheaper than my gas and electric bills 🤪 a remap on a diesel is a must ! Push you back in your seat torque and still good fuel economy 👍 I’d love to have a good powered diesel for my commute and a good fun petrol engined car for the weekends if I could afford that in an ideal world 🙄
