I've been struggling a lot with anxiety about my future and not knowing what to do, but hearing you talk about all the random classes you're taking was so good to hear. Makes me realize i can just Do Shit and learn things and try to have fun without knowing exactly what i want to do. Thank you

I definitely need to get into Lego and building sets again as it’s hugely therapeutic for me but I’m just so busy and it feels like I have no time anymore, I really wish Critical Role had Lego sets, as far as I know they don’t but omg I’d love to build those as I’ve been majorly getting into dnd again recently and it’s also calming for me
Jordan Theresa has really good video essays about all sorts of topics (from reality TV to critical analysis of classism) and Rachel Maksy makes wonderful shit, like a lot of whimsical stuff in the form of crafts and decor and fashion, she's my absolute favorite!

Yo, I know the time kinda just passed - but that Home Alone set is fucking heat.
They make some dope botanical sets that could be fun, and make dope decorations - look into doing the Orchid or Bonsai Tree.
If you're feeling a bit more ambitious, the new Lord of the Rings Rivendell set comes out soon, and looks awesome.
Sarah, I know that the self-deprecating jokes are a coping mechanism, but we watch you because we love you and everything about you. We genuinely want to know how you are and what you're going through.

Mikes Mic is the UA-camr i'd recommend. He does a lot of videos on pop music and tv/film, but i'd honestly watch him explain the differences in the shades of white at the paint store

As others have said recommend Mikes Mic & Jordan Theresa (shes done alot of vids on how feminity & feminism mix, i think you'd enjoy her alot). For fun light videos I recommend checking out Leo Vaders videos, my faves are videos based on a question you might ask after watching a movie e.g. can they understand the cat in stuart little. Also someone else others have already recommended Luxeria, a lovely trans british youtuber who reacts to old reality shows with kindness. I think it may be cool if you did videos on media you feel are underrated like Treasure Planet explaining why you think we may enjoy it, in a similar vain to how you may do a hyperfixation vid like divorce idk.
Your Jennifer Coolidge sounded like she grew up in northern Wisconsin and I was here for it.
UA-cam recommendation: Nick DiRamio. They are lgbt, they are VERY funny, and they do breakdowns of movies and shows and UA-cam content, so stuff like Disney Channel Movies and bad horror movies and making fun of Shane Dawson, which are probably their funniest vids lol they are really knowledgeable about filmmaking and stuff too and they have experience they can speak on when critiquing things, and they speak about social issues and specific charities available for any current issues and stuff mixed in with their commentary
Having a really rough couple a days recently. Health issues. Mental health shit. This video and the commentary makes me feel a lot better. Thank you so much sara. And yes. Gay people do decorate stuff well ❤️

I took a break from VCG since I've been in a bad place lately and there's just a lot more energy there than I can handle. This popped into my feed today and honestly it's really comforting hearing someone talk about their problems so openly again. Started ketamine therapy so fingers crossed, glad you found some antidepressants that are working Sarah.
Legos look so fun!! I wasn't able to play with them as a kid because my mom thought they were for boys which is why I had like 150 barbies.. I might have to buy a set now.

Just a few of my recommendations, and these are a variety: Courtreezy is hilarious, as well as her regular friends that she collabs with; PBS Eons has a lot of cool videos on ancient fauna and flora; GTLive is generally funny, is current with a large mainstream vein of video gaming, and has been gathering LGBTQ+ attention somewhat bc of one of the producers Ash (who has a channel, but I forget their channel name!), Nate the Hoof Guy for educational videos on cow hoof trimming, the channels of the two members of the Sad Boys podcast, Jarvis Johnson and Jordan, Chad Chad is funny, Jammidodger representing bisexual AFAB trans folks and being a sweetheart, Roly with his piercing videos and his Gag of the Millenial podcast with Luxeria. I know that is a lot, but hopefully these are enough of a variety for you to explore!

Sarah I absolutely love hearing you talk about how you’ve managed your alcohol addiction. I’ve been sober for a year now and it was the most difficult challenge of my life but also the most valuable decision I’ve ever made. I relate so much to your situation.
I was self medicating with alcohol to try to deal with my severe anxiety and lifelong insomnia problem. I truly thought, even for all the consequences, that the alcohol was helping my sleep and anxiety but in reality it was just making it worse. By the time I was ready to quit I had really high cholesterol, was too heavy to find clothes my size, would throw up all the time from constant nausea, and even coughed blood fairly regularly. I was so depressed and reclusive I didn’t know what else to do but drink.
I finally got to a point where I could take inventory over my quality of life like you did and realized that I had nothing to lose by trying to quit, but everything to lose if I kept on the same path. I got on medications to treat my mental health problems, and once I started feeling better, I realized I just didn’t really feel like I needed to drink anymore. One night I decided to stay up late enough the liquor stores would all be closed and I’d have no choice but to go a night sober, and then never went back.
I still miss it all the time, but I remind myself I’ve done enough drinking and partying to last myself a lifetime - and how much healthier and happier I feel now - and I just can’t think about going back to that. Truly the best of luck to you and anyone else reading on your sober journey! 🖤
