Great intro video! Obviously wasn't a strategy video, but might be cool to make one of those to point out how the Order Markers should never have been on the warlords! And how the Legionnaires could move 5 spaces, thanks to Marcus 👀
As stated by others, this was a very necessary video. Previously I used something very similar I filmed on my phone for new players, but obviously the production value here makes those obsolete. Maybe for this video the elevation movement penalty should be added. (I get that maybe it’s another video because then you have to talk about flying) I would love a basic strategy follow up to this video that includes the obvious like bonding, how special attacks generally work, and that order markers can be stacked on a single card. Also basic game play tips.
We’ve regularly had people show up to tournaments who’ve never played before and have a great time. It’s super accessible and yet has enough depth to stay entertaining. I took one look at 40k’s rules after getting my space wolves and going “nope!”
Love this game and drafting is a big reason. so fun to pick how many pts you have and then draft from so many interesting units. Melee, ranged, shields, flyers, hidden, etc. And making maps was a blast. mountains, water, ice, lava, woods. all had an effect. Underrated game.
I have some pieces to make maps, not a lot, and I used to have a bunch of figures but due to an accident I only have about half of what I used to. Where can I still get this stuff for good prices?
Hey so I’ve got a question. I’ve tried looking for an answer here in UA-cam and cannot find it. But, do you know of a way in which two players can work together fighting the monsters? Like a cooperation between two people instead of vs. Maybe like a homebrew game mode
5:40 From the 2nd edition rulebook whoever rolls highest goes first, then play passes to the left. Probably should have mentioned that basic movement costs more for going 'uphill', since you talked about terrain and water rules Also drafting with more than 2 players is normally a snake draft (last player choses 2 armies) for fairness. Overall great video!
You move each figure in the squad first, then can choose to attack with any or all of them. (You also don’t HAVE to move any of them before attacking, but that gives up your move)
@@tabletopbrodo you roll The squads attack for each figure all at once, or one at a time? And does the defender roll for each attack by a squad figure?
I own ever set including all the MTG with Heroscape tiles. Not really sure why this ever got canceled. Sets and figure upgrades were pretty affordable.
@@tabletopbro Then perhaps a more fitting title would be "94% of Everything You Need to Know to Play Heroscape". (Joking of course. Great overview of the rules.)
Uncommon heroes are just unique heroes that can be fielded multiple times in the same army. Apart from this technicality, what really deserves another video is clear sight spaces, line of sight , (leaving) engagement, falling, climbing, adjacency and terrain effects.
Teach us how to buy the sets for cheap.... I used to own 2 of the starter sets and 2 castle stets, and tons of everything else (except some medium expansions and newer figures). They were unfortunately sold for super cheap, as were my entire lego collection, when I was younger because mOm NeEdEd SpAcE. I'm pretty sure someone collected over $2,000 worth of stuff for probably only $200.
The Omnicron Sniper does roll less dice, but they have a special ability that says that each hit does double damage. The legionnaire has to be up close and gets more chances to hit, while the sniper can shoot from far away and does double damage if it hits the target.
The community needed that video!
7:43 she has 8 Omnicron Snipers left, so she can move and attack with a full unit worth (3) on her turn.
The community has needed this video for ages. Thank you! We finally have a calling card for the game!
Thanks Ben!

I play 40k and all i can think of is how much simpler the teach is here. Also alternating activations, one of my favorite wargame mechanics

@@tabletopbro I'd love to see a heroscape battle report! Very interested in how the game works in a full match
Nice work as usual! Thanks for making stuff we enjoy and you are excited about!
Thanks for watching the stuff you enjoy!
Pumped for new heroscape, missed the first time it was around
Same!

Just picked up a set from GenCon! Super stoaked. Also subbed
Oh man I'm jealous! I get my preorder at the end of the month.
Loved heroscape as a kid. So excited to get back into it.
Great video; concise and easy to follow! Also I can never hate any video that uses MapleStory background music
You’ve discovered my secret weapon!
You are going to need a map.... and Airheads.... yum!
YOU ARE AWESOME! ❤❤❤
Thanks!

If I’m using squads, do you move each individual figure and attack one at a time or do you attack after each figure has moved?

Good video.
What storage containers do you use to store figs?
These cheap tackle boxes I got from Amazon
I see another set droping right? a new one?
Fun video!! I am tempted to record it and put it on my phone to show N00Bs lol~
Just use the UA-cam app😂
*EVERYTHING* You Need to Know to Play Heroscape
2:46 - Except that; that's another video.
There’s only 12 uncommon units out of 207 units

Neat
Legionaires =/= Legionaries
It makes absolutely no sense that a Legionnaire can roll more dice than a holocron sniper...
The Omnicron Sniper does roll less dice, but they have a special ability that says that each hit does double damage. The legionnaire has to be up close and gets more chances to hit, while the sniper can shoot from far away and does double damage if it hits the target.
