    Thanks for the very good tutorial. (As already noted below) Although a little hard for me to understand you at first, it made me listen better and I look forward to learning much more with your help. I recently bought a Creality Ender 3 for $200.00 (First machine) and'm having a blast printing gargoyles and soap dishes (Plus the hairy mane lion) but there are so many dimensions to 3d printing that it can be hard to grasp all the possibilities.
    Thanks again,
    Jim

    FEATURE REQUEST:
    Please introduce the ability to mask in 3D mode instead of 2D mode.
    Ideally, we should be able to mask 3D volumes after the sparse point cloud is generated but before the dense point cloud is created. If we were given the ability to select the positions for good or bad data from the 3D model, we would only have to select 3D volumes ONCE rather than selecting 2D pixels potentially hundreds of times in the Masquerade masking tool for 100+ image collections.
    Once the software knows each camera position in 3D space, project each 2D image on the included volume to AUTOMATICALLY mask the entire 2D image set.
    In the example shown in this video, it would also be useful to exclude all pixels colored green. This would be especially useful if we were capturing photos with a Hollywood style "greenscreen" backdrop. If we could select color spectrum ranges for the masking tool, that could be very useful.
    Lastly, thanks for making a great product. I'm a very happy customer!

      Good point! One thing I want to try is taking a bunch of pictures through a fence then erasing the fence from the 3-D model so it doesn't obstruct the view of what's beyond the fence.

    Hi. I just downloaded the trial of this software. It looks to be what I need. I plan on purchasing it. However, do you plan on doing a follow-up video for this? It appears many of the options/menus have changed. I've had to pause/rewind several times to find where the options/menus are. It would improve the learning curve greatly. If you already have done so, could you provide link(s)? Thanks!

    • @3DflowChannel
      @3DflowChannel  4 роки тому

      Hi! Thank you for the feedback! Indeed Zephyr gets a lot of updates so you may occasionally find some slight differences in the tutorials. We plan in making updated videos of course :) however going back and redoing all videotutorials is not very easy - so while you may be a bit disoriented with the videotutorials, if you see discrepancies in the UI check also our text tutorials or manual from 3dflow.net as they are updated much more frequently, you should be up and running quickly ;) or contact us at support@3dflow.net or join our discord server discord.3dflow.net for realtime help :)

    Greetings,
    As in 3df zephyr to show only the mesh without textures.
    Also know if possible, a better quality setting, for example, to scan with a bust of a park character.
    I have good quality photos and the result is acceptable, I note that autodesk-recap with only 100 photos gives a better quality
    and I have the pro version of zephyr.
    I love Zephyr 3DF more than other software and I want to get the best out of it.
    Thank you very much for the time.

    • @3DflowChannel
      @3DflowChannel  6 років тому +2

      Hi,
      you can toggle color and lighting using the icons in the toolbar if you wish to show only the mesh.
      Quality settings can be quickly changed via the presets (i.e. from default to high details) in the wizard, or as you learn deeper how the software works by changing the advanced parameters.
      You can share the dataset with us if you wish. Contact us on our forum or on our facebook group 3Dflow academy if you'd like us to take a look at your dataset.

    I assume that "Dense Point Cloud" is now called "3D Model Generation" in the current version right?

    • @3DflowChannel
      @3DflowChannel  4 роки тому

      Hi! Yes - 3D model generation will output both the dense cloud and the mesh in one single step (doing dense and then mesh). You can eventually use the advanced menu if you want to process only the dense cloud, however it is recommended to also generate the mesh if you want to export a dense point cloud, as the photoconsistency step will also improve the dense point cloud (but not if you do the step manually from the advanced menu)

    Curious - I shot video of an object (as a .mov), and when I go to import, either it wont see the video, or, if I drag / drop, 'next' is greyed out. I have tried H.264 and TIFF as compression... Is there a 'best' setting to conform video to that 3Df Z likes the most?

    • @3DflowChannel

      Hi Gouldeyecandy, you need to select "Import pictures from video" - regardless of the extension though, it depends on the codec. It should work, but you can contact us at support@3dflow.net if you're having issues!

      Hi Faouzi, make sure you're running the latest drivers for your video card and if you're using your computer via remote desktop that your monitor is plugged in, as some remote desktop software may have issues with 3D rendering if the monitor is not plugged in.

    • @3DflowChannel
      @3DflowChannel  4 роки тому

      Hi Antonis! You need to use masking if you are moving the subject, unless you can create a perfectly plain background (hard to do, but possible). Make sure to not alter the geometry of the subject as well (e.g. with a soft body such as it may be a pastry)

    What is the best lens to use on a DSLR for the least distortion? 50-85?

    • @3DflowChannel
      @3DflowChannel  4 роки тому

      Hi Art Cid! It really depends on the subject and the distance, regardless, zephyr is autocalibrated and will automatically process the distortion - in fact,never use undistorted images with zephyr! 50-85 works great :)

    • @3DflowChannel
      @3DflowChannel  6 років тому

      Hi Michal! If you are moving the object, then zephyr has no idea if you wish to reconstruct the background or the object. If this is the case, you need to mask out the background - you can use the included 3DF Masquerade tool (See videotutorial 3). If you want to share the photos with us (forum, facebook 3Dflow academy, discord) we'd be happy to help you figure it out :)

      then if it is just some unwanted backround in the reconstruction, it is probably just a bounding box that is too wide. Simply rescale it to your liking before the MvS phase

    • @3DflowChannel
      @3DflowChannel  6 років тому +1

      Hi germain! If you mean the advanced settings, the dropdown menu is always in the top right corner, but if you mean you don't have the next button (bottom-right) most likely you're running on a very low resolution screen. In this case, try the fullscreen mode (view->fullscreen). If neither these are your case, can you be a bit more specific? If you need to post a screenshot you can do so over our forums at forum.3dflow.net ! Hope this helps!

    • @3DflowChannel
      @3DflowChannel  6 років тому

      Hi Michael,
      there should be no issues for Zbrush to handle Zephyr-generated meshes. Can you share with us ( info@3dflow.net ) the mesh and details of the process you are following? Make also sure to export in local coordinates if your model is in geographic coordinates (this happens automatically if you have GPS data in the exif, i.e. if you shot images with a phone), as many modelling software have issue with those type of coordinates (not sure if this is the case, just a hunch :) )

      yes, a detailed tutorial, with demo footage, for buildings (small and large) would be great. this is exactly what i need as well as quite complex interiors. this short 3DF video, ua-cam.com/video/PIf3GK_WjXE/v-deo.html, is not really much help in terms of what to do and anyway, it is mainly an interior. btw, thank you to 3DF for what looks like a great product. i am about to try it.
