Rell Seas is a prime example of how fast overhyping can make better than average games seem underwhelming due to how heavily it's been overhyped. (Had to clarify since most if not all overhyped games usually die within months/weeks of release and it's been like that forever.) Bloxfruit devs so bad, update that was scheduled for december was delayed because “1 model change”, here were are 2 months later no update because of 1 model design. The developers know they dont have to update for a year to gain bank because the 800k little kids played the game for the whole year despite getting no updates.

It seems like they're trying to do a immersive sim type thing. Like "you make your own adventure" type deal, I have hope for the game and I'm thankful they aren't rushing the game.
Besides the high-quality visuals, the only thing that caught my attention about Rell Seas is their underwater exploration. I really hope they make it fun, although I must admit that I am a little biased because I love Subnautica :p

With the woodcutting thing I think the intent was more like “hey I need to go chop wood so I can go craft me a ship, wow that’s convenient I leveled up from that, wow that’s convenient the ship I crafted gave me enough xp to do ____” type of deal. You’re not gonna be grinding wood cutting for xp, you’re gonna be wood cutting for other reasons which levels you up at the same time.

Anything that isnt garbage will by default be better As a game designer you should see the myriad of problems the game will face and have from a mile away by comparing it to other games Just from the marketing alone you can't help but be skeptical, y'know?

5:09 I looked at this progression style in the eyes of someone who watches One Piece and I find it quite interesting. I pictured this as different "fighting styles" if you will. for example, Sanji is a cook and fights using his legs because hands are for cooking, or Usopp which is a sniper but also uses a hammer for repairing the ship from time to time as well as using it for combat. with how wacky One Piece is, I don't find it entirely unbelievable for woodcutting to also include things like Axe fighting styles or a fisherman using the rod for a grappler type combat or to lure in Seabeasts more efficiently. although this is, like you said, very high expectations, I don't find it out of the realm of creativity from the devs, something like this might make the game really interesting and encourage various character builds and provide replayability
After watching this video, I now wonder “how is the player supposed to promoted to explore or engage into combat. Based on the first movie, they just show that you can do non-combat focused progression. This doesn’t promote the player to actually engage in combat, nor does it promote them to go to any of the other islands. They also promote the “Devil May Cry inspired combat”, but don’t add it to the progression in any way from the looks of it (key words). Also, how will it promote being a pirate or a marine? You can probably (key word) beat the game from chopping trees and giving bjs or some shit, but the big thing in one piece is being a marine or a pirate. I am not expecting it to be the quality of a triple A game, it’s made on Roblox after all, but when I heard it will have a unique progression system, I thought those attributes you can use to level up can help you with your combat/play style. Maybe it will be like that, or maybe it will be like Deepwoken where things like woodcutting can help with strength and thievery helps with speed. There are only like, three progressions that would matter to the game overall: cooking, shipbuilding, and thievery. But overall, I think that Rell Seas seems like it has potential and I like how the Rell brothers are trying to innovate One Piece games, however, I think the progression needs some changes and it could be pretty good. Oh, I am also not asking for it to be a bandit beater for any people who are going to be angry at this.
ULTRAKILL is a game I think you would enjoy. The level design is great, enemies are fun to fight, and there are a lot of easter eggs. It's still in early access though, and there are still some levels which need to be worked on. Still very recommended, and doesn't cost much on Steam!
I notice in nearly every one of your reviews you mention how bad working with roblox net code is, which I completely agree with. Surprisingly enough, however, roblox does intend to implement server dominated networking, forcing clients to "predict" what happens next as opposed to waiting for the server to tell you. This networking model already exists on the platform but is really hard to implement with how many roblox systems that need to be rewritten.
I'm shocked that Roblox is finally trying to fix the net code. Now all they need to do is actually send me to servers in a region within 5,000 miles of me

Overhype is always bad for a game ,that should be common sense by now. Its not about the game being good or bad ,anime games on roblox were never been good. Main reason is just about player mindset ,they are growing up by days now.
What I’m super excited for about this game is the governmental systems (meaning marines from one piece) and how they add different aspects like jailing, and the raid, execution, sea events etc. I’ve been waiting for a game that actually has real classes that have to do with government, and the fact that they’re doing it is so exciting.
The biggest problem with games on roblox is that those games don't have an actual end. Most of great games on have a story and a purpose. If you finish the story that's it. Roblox is quite different. If the story exists in game it's propably 4 hours long max so the games themselfs never have a purpose. Arcane Odyssey for example. Good story but after that you can't start another save you're just stuck in "late game" forever. Roblox can only bet on either combat or bandit beating that later turns into combat anyway. That's my main point why I don't play roblox
Main reason for that is to keep people playing for as long as possible. The more they play, the more likely they are to buy stuff. That’s why games like Blox Fruits make their grind so long.

I'm excited for Rell Seas but I do have my reservations, I've been playing the Rell brothers games for 10 years at this point and every single game they have made in the past has been a bandit beater or stat grinder or mix of the two, from their earliest naruto games all the way up to shindo life both versions of star life as well as the other one piece game they made they have all varied on either just stat grinding via training or bandit beating with elements of that mixed in. I sincerely hope they can manage to do it but I am hesitant to say it will be great when this does seem to be their first real go at breaking away from that genre.
I'd just like to say that the Rell brothers have confirmed that absolutely nothing they show in sneaks or trailers or anything like that is complete/finished. So everything that we know right now can be changed.

Yes you can fight bosses, yes you can fight npcs, they arent saying you have to woodcut or cook they are just saying there are many ways to progress. legacy piece also looks promising, it has a guaranteed story type of game and not bandit beater. i just wish they make the story not boring and fun, and from what the sneak peeks look like, i have high hopes for it. its even coming way sooner than this so while we wait for rell seas we can play legacy piece first (ofc only if its actually fun, which i think it will be)

The reason this game is insanely overhyped is because its being made by the RELL brothers. One of best and most respected roblox devs (at least for anime games) They are the creators of shindo life (formaly known as sl2), NRPG beyond, the entire shinobi life serious and other shit
I don't think they are the best or the most respected. If you have seen their twitter, they are huge assholes and they also exploit their fanbases with scummy practices, mainly seen in shindo.

there's been no sign of that. and they only did that in shindo life after the copy right strike, also pretty sure they were running out of naruto content anyway. but from what it seems rell seas will stay with one piece (or well after the copyright evasion their doing, the one piece looking stuff lol)
They've only done that with shindo stop blindly judging. Shinobi life was naruto inspired, shindo was their own concept and ideas, so tell seas is inspired by one piece without needing an IP, that doesn't make it any less of a one piece game.
I think part of the hype is that these are the people who made shindo life the rell brothers but there whole soul into their game in its prime it got blox fruit level updates weekly and right now he is doing a challenge to do a fix of balance change every day on shindo life and even if that game isnt for everyone you have to respect the amount of time and effort they put into a roblox game
When rell seas are saying a "new formula" they're talking about roblox games. Usually One Piece games tend to have only 1 progression type, which is just doing quest and beating npcs, which people call "bandit beaters." (I know you know this) The reason they do this is so it is unique compared to other One Piece games, if you get tired of just doing the same thing of taking quest and beating npcs you can just go do something else to relax. Respectfully, you understood nothing about progression... No, you will not cut trees to level up, no you won't do that to get to 500/500, what they said is that everything will give you xp and IF you do something very often you will get better at it. For example: you fish a lot in the game cause for whatever reason you like it? Good you will get xp for classic levels AND levels in fishing, you will get better at what you do and you can do anything to level up. The progression is basically deepwoken on steroids, you want to play only PvP you will level up, you want to play only PvE? you will level up, you want to fish and cook? You will still level up. Eclipse, I think you got the “farming” aspect of the game wrong. You WILL be leveling up your woodcutting, but woodcutting will be helping you progress along WITH the actual game. Instead of cutting the wood to level up you are cutting the wood so you can both cut BETTER wood, and do you can make tools to help you in gathering other resources/fighting people.

Another thing is rell seas is the only combat game which allows you to fight in the air , if you look in their sneak peeks list you can find combat videos , showing off the best combat system, I have ever seen in my opinion, you will just see Blox fruit is all about Combat , while rell seas is also about RPG, which means Fishing,Cutting Trees Down,Ship customisation, Prisons for Pirates, Interaction with Npcs far ahead than any other Roblox game, they have also added ship combat which means, when the ship is moving you will be able to hit the person , which is an combat I only know in Rell seas.

Im not saying the game is not over hyped but your acting like this game is going to be barely above average when this game is almost guaranteed to be the best games on roblox, only way i see it not being best is holy war x is really good or it gets copyrighted. Even with only the stuff the devs confirmed they finished, it would prob be top 10. If we can have AAA like progression on roblox that a good thing, i cant think of any well made games on roblox with that kind of progression, and the point of the game is to feel like your in the world of one piece.

Honestly it’s not a bandit beater according to the devs it looks good visually based off of one of my favorite anime one piece and seems to have exploration aspects which matches the themes of one piece which a lot of games based on one piece lack looks solid have to wait till I can play it to actually say if it’s good or not

i hope this game doesnt become a game where we had to do nothing except all those cutting trees to level up since yeah then it will surely become a bandit beater beater they should involve a good lore or lore similar to one peice if possible, it would also make more sense if we are able to visit another island after doing something or completing the story of that island rather than roaming any island we want.

I honestly was a person who was over hyped for this game as i love one piece but currently as blox fruits as my only real option it was extremely exciting to possibly get a good game with caring developers. i still have hundreds of hours in blox fruit but i still hate the game it honestly couldnt be worse progression and im unsure what keep me playing the game till max level. Honestly max level combat isnt the worst but it still isnt fun. Rell seas has given me hope but your video has also helped me realize its still just a roblox game it wont be everything i want it cant be perfect.

I am max level in Blox Fruit. And honestly the only thing that's fun in this game unlocks when you're level 1500... This whole game is just a mindless cash grab, with the smallest amount of effort put into it as well. Like, even putting out small updates is hard for their lazy ass dev team but the player base still eats it up and supports them. And even I did for a couple of months, hoping that they would finally finish the update but it's hopeless atp. Bloxfruit devs so bad, update that was scheduled for december was delayed because “1 model change”, here were are 2 months later no update because of 1 model design. The developers know they dont have to update for a year to gain bank because the 800k little kids played the game for the whole year despite getting no updates.
+ keep in mind they still showed support to their 1 year of no update and are still constantly playing despite not having a update.

With the woodcutting thing I think the intent was more like “hey I need to go chop wood so I can go craft me a ship, wow that’s convenient I leveled up from that, wow that’s convenient the ship I crafted gave me enough xp to do ____” type of deal. You’re not gonna be grinding wood cutting for xp, you’re gonna be wood cutting for other reasons which levels you up at the same time.

5:09 I looked at this progression style in the eyes of someone who watches One Piece and I find it quite interesting.
I pictured this as different "fighting styles" if you will. for example, Sanji is a cook and fights using his legs because hands are for cooking, or Usopp which is a sniper but also uses a hammer for repairing the ship from time to time as well as using it for combat.
with how wacky One Piece is, I don't find it entirely unbelievable for woodcutting to also include things like Axe fighting styles or a fisherman using the rod for a grappler type combat or to lure in Seabeasts more efficiently.
although this is, like you said, very high expectations, I don't find it out of the realm of creativity from the devs, something like this might make the game really interesting and encourage various character builds and provide replayability
After watching this video, I now wonder “how is the player supposed to promoted to explore or engage into combat. Based on the first movie, they just show that you can do non-combat focused progression. This doesn’t promote the player to actually engage in combat, nor does it promote them to go to any of the other islands. They also promote the “Devil May Cry inspired combat”, but don’t add it to the progression in any way from the looks of it (key words). Also, how will it promote being a pirate or a marine? You can probably (key word) beat the game from chopping trees and giving bjs or some shit, but the big thing in one piece is being a marine or a pirate. I am not expecting it to be the quality of a triple A game, it’s made on Roblox after all, but when I heard it will have a unique progression system, I thought those attributes you can use to level up can help you with your combat/play style. Maybe it will be like that, or maybe it will be like Deepwoken where things like woodcutting can help with strength and thievery helps with speed. There are only like, three progressions that would matter to the game overall: cooking, shipbuilding, and thievery. But overall, I think that Rell Seas seems like it has potential and I like how the Rell brothers are trying to innovate One Piece games, however, I think the progression needs some changes and it could be pretty good. Oh, I am also not asking for it to be a bandit beater for any people who are going to be angry at this.

ULTRAKILL is a game I think you would enjoy. The level design is great, enemies are fun to fight, and there are a lot of easter eggs. It's still in early access though, and there are still some levels which need to be worked on. Still very recommended, and doesn't cost much on Steam!

I notice in nearly every one of your reviews you mention how bad working with roblox net code is, which I completely agree with. Surprisingly enough, however, roblox does intend to implement server dominated networking, forcing clients to "predict" what happens next as opposed to waiting for the server to tell you. This networking model already exists on the platform but is really hard to implement with how many roblox systems that need to be rewritten.
I'm shocked that Roblox is finally trying to fix the net code. Now all they need to do is actually send me to servers in a region within 5,000 miles of me

Overhype is always bad for a game ,that should be common sense by now. Its not about the game being good or bad ,anime games on roblox were never been good. Main reason is just about player mindset ,they are growing up by days now.
What I’m super excited for about this game is the governmental systems (meaning marines from one piece) and how they add different aspects like jailing, and the raid, execution, sea events etc. I’ve been waiting for a game that actually has real classes that have to do with government, and the fact that they’re doing it is so exciting.
The biggest problem with games on roblox is that those games don't have an actual end. Most of great games on have a story and a purpose. If you finish the story that's it. Roblox is quite different. If the story exists in game it's propably 4 hours long max so the games themselfs never have a purpose. Arcane Odyssey for example. Good story but after that you can't start another save you're just stuck in "late game" forever. Roblox can only bet on either combat or bandit beating that later turns into combat anyway. That's my main point why I don't play roblox
Main reason for that is to keep people playing for as long as possible. The more they play, the more likely they are to buy stuff. That’s why games like Blox Fruits make their grind so long.

I'm excited for Rell Seas but I do have my reservations, I've been playing the Rell brothers games for 10 years at this point and every single game they have made in the past has been a bandit beater or stat grinder or mix of the two, from their earliest naruto games all the way up to shindo life both versions of star life as well as the other one piece game they made they have all varied on either just stat grinding via training or bandit beating with elements of that mixed in.
I sincerely hope they can manage to do it but I am hesitant to say it will be great when this does seem to be their first real go at breaking away from that genre.

legacy piece also looks promising, it has a guaranteed story type of game and not bandit beater. i just wish they make the story not boring and fun, and from what the sneak peeks look like, i have high hopes for it. its even coming way sooner than this so while we wait for rell seas we can play legacy piece first (ofc only if its actually fun, which i think it will be)

The reason this game is insanely overhyped is because its being made by the RELL brothers. One of best and most respected roblox devs (at least for anime games) They are the creators of shindo life (formaly known as sl2), NRPG beyond, the entire shinobi life serious and other shit
I don't think they are the best or the most respected. If you have seen their twitter, they are huge assholes and they also exploit their fanbases with scummy practices, mainly seen in shindo.

When rell seas are saying a "new formula" they're talking about roblox games. Usually One Piece games tend to have only 1 progression type, which is just doing quest and beating npcs, which people call "bandit beaters." (I know you know this) The reason they do this is so it is unique compared to other One Piece games, if you get tired of just doing the same thing of taking quest and beating npcs you can just go do something else to relax.

Respectfully, you understood nothing about progression... No, you will not cut trees to level up, no you won't do that to get to 500/500, what they said is that everything will give you xp and IF you do something very often you will get better at it. For example: you fish a lot in the game cause for whatever reason you like it? Good you will get xp for classic levels AND levels in fishing, you will get better at what you do and you can do anything to level up. The progression is basically deepwoken on steroids, you want to play only PvP you will level up, you want to play only PvE? you will level up, you want to fish and cook? You will still level up. Sorry for my bad English, it isn't my main language

Eclipse, I think you got the “farming” aspect of the game wrong. You WILL be leveling up your woodcutting, but woodcutting will be helping you progress along WITH the actual game. Instead of cutting the wood to level up you are cutting the wood so you can both cut BETTER wood, and do you can make tools to help you in gathering other resources/fighting people.

Another thing is rell seas is the only combat game which allows you to fight in the air , if you look in their sneak peeks list you can find combat videos , showing off the best combat system, I have ever seen in my opinion, you will just see Blox fruit is all about Combat , while rell seas is also about RPG, which means Fishing,Cutting Trees Down,Ship customisation, Prisons for Pirates, Interaction with Npcs far ahead than any other Roblox game, they have also added ship combat which means, when the ship is moving you will be able to hit the person , which is an combat I only know in Rell seas.

Honestly it’s not a bandit beater according to the devs it looks good visually based off of one of my favorite anime one piece and seems to have exploration aspects which matches the themes of one piece which a lot of games based on one piece lack looks solid have to wait till I can play it to actually say if it’s good or not

i hope this game doesnt become a game where we had to do nothing except all those cutting trees to level up since yeah then it will surely become a bandit beater beater they should involve a good lore or lore similar to one peice if possible, it would also make more sense if we are able to visit another island after doing something or completing the story of that island rather than roaming any island we want.
Lets be real, no game can live up to the hype built around it. Theres expectations and then theres people who dont have expectations.

I honestly was a person who was over hyped for this game as i love one piece but currently as blox fruits as my only real option it was extremely exciting to possibly get a good game with caring developers. i still have hundreds of hours in blox fruit but i still hate the game it honestly couldnt be worse progression and im unsure what keep me playing the game till max level. Honestly max level combat isnt the worst but it still isnt fun. Rell seas has given me hope but your video has also helped me realize its still just a roblox game it wont be everything i want it cant be perfect.

I am max level in Blox Fruit. And honestly the only thing that's fun in this game unlocks when you're level 1500... This whole game is just a mindless cash grab, with the smallest amount of effort put into it as well. Like, even putting out small updates is hard for their lazy ass dev team but the player base still eats it up and supports them. And even I did for a couple of months, hoping that they would finally finish the update but it's hopeless atp. I HOPE BLOX FRUIT LOSES EVERY THING THEY HAVE AND WILL FINALLY BE ERASED FROM THE FRONT PAGE. THE DEVS DON'T DESERVE THE MONEY THEY GET AND THIS PLAYERBASE.

I will say on the tree progession is the fact the main purpose of it wont be for exp it will be for crafting and you need more tree exp to chop down stronger trees to craft stronger weapons (Brainrot sorry)
