nice idea-but the end results get you a backing track that is Mono-correct? It would be nice to be able to keep a sense of stereo with your final outcome. Is there anyway to fix that?
Just an FYI if you import a song into Logic you need to make sure the input is a stereo input even though it has nothing to do with dragging the song into logic. Other wise the GAIN plug in won't allow you to invert or take out the voice.
I have never tried to remove vocals from a song before, but I think if you are stuck with the reverb, you can also try a de-reverb plugin like you would find in audio restoration bundles. I have Izotope Rx7 with a de-reverb plugin. I must add however, I don't know how well it will work if at all... It's merely something I thought of now. Also, it might cause some other instruments to go haywire unless they only used reverb on the vocal track. Very interesting video and information you shared. Can this be done in GarageBand? I can’t select invert right and mono at the same time. I tried to invert right, save, then mono that in a new project, then the whole song went silent.
You could use Gain -> Invert Phase Left & Mono in track 1, and then use Channel EQ (low pass filter) in the copy of the song in track 2..then play them together. In that case, most of the vocals will be reduced and you will still be left with the bass mostly intact.. This depends on the song too, and if you could send me the mp3 version of the song you are trying to remove vocals from, I can try something and give it back to you..
Why does your single stereo track look like two identical tracks stacked on top of one another? (like = but in one - if that makes sense). Is it somehow displaying mono L+R in one track? I'm confused cuz if I import an audio file into logicx, it only looks like one line of audio.
T. Wait There are two little sliders on the upper right side. you need to slide the verticle zoom. then you should see the double layers. That's of course if it really is a stereo signal.

I pride myself on offering quality karaoke version for my customers. That "after" version would reflect poorly on my sound system which would be bad for business.

+Muthu J Logic Pro X is a moderately expensive software. Currently at $200 USD. I believe the same features used in this tutorial are present in GarageBand.
+EminG ツ unfortunately, Logic is only built for Mac. :( but you can try ported version of logic or install some ported mac into your system. that would do.
