Too loud imo, I have the SS and NK, the NK sound is perfect, I'm gonna wait til Yosh or Akra comes out with a full system with decent baffle before I install one on my SS. I also have a Zero electric bike, when you ride one of those around and hop on an ICE bike, the sound can be almost annoying, I guess I'm getting old:) Thanks for the video!!
Scale 6-8 depending on RPM and since the OEM header still installed. To be honest the iXil is pretty loud and cannot be compared to factory muffled tone exhaust. 1st and second are the loudest. Going into 3rd at low rpm (2500-4000) still somewhat loud, only cruising at highway speeds (65-75) it starts to mellow down but can still be heard by rider.
@@pricedownmall I got mine yesterday. I tried without the baffle and it felt pretty loud. Do you have any idea how much decibel we looking here? With and without baffle? I tried checking the Ixil website I cannot find information
Hi there, I purchased the same slip on exhaust however my baffle doesn’t look similar like yours one. I am using the slip on without the baffle which is very loud. Do you know the size of the baffle that you have.
Hello, I do not have the baffle measurement. My slip-on came with the removable baffle which I`ve recently installed. The sound still loud but the abnoxious low and cruise speed drone has been reduced. The tone is now deeper than before. Did you try to install it? It slides into place in between the slip-on and the short pipe that connects to the header.
At idle No, Open throttle only if you are next to the bike. Traveling on a highway I think is fine. Plus the exhaust baffle could be installed and lower the decibels a little if you have to.
I just did a test ride for 30min the other day and the sound got to me at the beginning of the ride and during stop and go traffic. 65mph on highway was tolerable. The system on the bike is unbaffled. I would recommend installing the baffle for city riding. Wear a nicely padded helmet, wear ear plugs or borh, it really depends on your preference. One thing is for sure, other drivers will hear you coming.
@@Heytexas it actually does come with a piece of pipe that resembles a baffle. Unsure as to what it will do to the sound. Maybe it restricts the exhaust a little and the note changes frequency.
@@pricedownmall Great video, can you see what decibels it registers 2 ft away at 2k rpm and 5k rpm? Looking to get this pipe for my 450ss and in a more regulated area.
That actually sounded a lot better than I thought it would. That 270 degree crank really gives that bike a unique sound.
Wait till you hear a 360 degree crank parallel
Love it! Sounds sooo darn good. It is loud, but loud pipes make people look and if they look, they are less likely to hit you.
With the baffle installed, drone goes away. :)
I purchased the IXIL and the KO Lightning for my 23 CFMOTO 450ss. In my opinion, the KO sounds BY FAR better! I stayed with the KO.
@@kevinpitts292 - How was the fit?
@@pricedownmall the fit is great! Also, it opened the bike up more as the IXIL was a Lil too restricted. Again in my opinion

Sounds does take a little bit to get used to, specially city riding.
add dry clutch, and that is basically a Ducati
How would you compare the loudness of the stock exhaust vs iXil slipon in 1-10?

Just know that RPM will let people know you are coming their way, for sure.
