Sack chasing the tropical flavours. We should concentrate on what we are good at. More wood flavours please. Once we get the Twiggy twiglet hop juice I’ll be happy 😂😂😂😂

300g Fuggle dryhop could be the future of brewing. New Old England IPA.

Always. Problem is, the one is always the next one not this one.

I’ve brewed the vacant gesture and I loved it , then brewed a vaguely vacant with some other random hops which was ok but I preferred the original. Now I’ve brewed it again ,it’s in a keg awaiting a tap. I have a coconut shy pa on tap so it looks a bit like the brew shed beer list here at the moment. Beer looks and sounds looooooooooooooovvvvvvveeeeeeeeellllllllllllyyyyyyyy another great episode cheers 👍🍻

Yeah the vacant is an ace beer. It just works for every occasion. I've never brewed the ShyPa before, had the original many times though. Probably my fav beer from Harry.

That is a fine recipe for the Vacant, won't be the last time I'll brew it.

I do quite like the Harlequin uniqueness although it won't be replacing mosaic any time soon. It IS definitely a bit of tropical in there but that ain't the main taste. I have some in bottles here Matt if you fancy one. Shoot your address over on whatsapp and I'll send over on the next trip to the post office.

would be interesting if you could get some leaf hops since its local and add 50g into a stainless steel mesh cylinder to add to a keg and let it sit on it. lower temps it might surprise you.

I’m currently drinking a harlequin smash where I used 200g. It’s ok abs I’m getting a bit of fruit flavours but as you said there is something else. Earthy could be what I’m getting

As this beer went on there was a real melon flavour coming through also but the earthy, woody flavour stayed. I really liked it. Made a hoppy wheat beer with the rest of the Harlequin and will be kegging it this weekend. No idea what to expect to be honest.

I used Harlequin hops in a NEIPA but I wasn’t impressed as I didn’t get that punch you get from Mosaic and Citra .
I think they would work better in a bitter or IPA.

I can see why you'd be disappointed. I think they are good and unique but definitely not a patch on citra and mosaic. Every pint I drink if this I'm thinking of what to use the rest of the hops in. I know they'll work great in something, just not sure what.
