Jason Cruz is and has been one of the most talented vocalists in the scene
Interested to hear if this one grows on you guys over time or not. It’s definitely one of their most well loved songs from that early era of Strung Out.
Love this song, that closing line is one of my all time favs
That Guitar solo really grabbed me by the neck when i first heard it.
Still does years later.
Try Matchbook
This was the first thing they put out after Jim was ousted. I remember thinking it was a lot different from its predecessor, but it became to this day my favorite of their releases. The next album (An American Paradox) is my least favorite, maybe because of how much I love this EP. I say keeo listening and maybe it will grow on you!
Jim had to go. It's sad. I also loved Jordan.. but from what I hear... yeah... he also had to go. RJ was dope. Dunno what happened there. But American Paradox was amazing. Give it another chance. I have had the "Astrolux" inked on me since 2000. I've smoked out Jake and Chris on multiple occasions.. there aren't many better people on the planet than these guys. Always cool to their fans... save for Rob... sometimes.. hahahahahaha
@@drysiftwizard3469 I love everything they did after American Paradox, but I see it is kind of as a step back songwriting wise. They definitely turned it around and everything after has been amazing. I've seen them as far back as 1997, and all the way through. I saw Jim with Pulley not long after he was booted from Strung Out, and even he admitted he had problems he needed to manage. I'm pretty sure he was removed from Pulley for similar reasons. Great dude, but he had some demons. I don't know the whole story with Jordan, but he was and is an amazing drummer and guy. His tempo wasn't always the most consistent live, but he was always a solid dude. I don't think RJ was the right fit. Props to Jordan for continuing to support the band and their new drummers.
@@drysiftwizard3469 Also - Alien Amplifier and Satellite are two of my favorite songs from their catalog, but Jason's voice is shot on this recording, which makes them hard for me to listen to.
Their live album is my favourite ever album. Everyday on that is beautiful
