Hello, hope the hurricane cleaned all the dust out of your shop and not more ;-). Thank you for this video. I was searching for this long time. Cheers from France Tim
We are very lucky to have power. Most of my families’ homes are still without power. Also there is no gas available for cars. We also have many repairs. Recovery will be very long.
Good day. I am so relieved that I found this video. Thank you very much. I was almost thinking I will never be able to use my CNC for box joints. Question: What material are you using for this box?
How do you compensate for the bit size you are using. I have tried this and the joints are very sloppy. Do you cut on outside of all the pieces. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
I was just wandering why your dust boot hits the clamps. I set mine where the bristles are just proud of the project as well and the bristles just glide right over the clamps. As long as you don't make the clamps you use taller than the bristles they will not hit the plexy housing of the dust boot. At least mine never have the upgrade did not change that either works the same with or without upgrade. I thoroughly enjoyed the video and you and the comment section gave me some great project ideas thank you for all you do. Have a blessed day.
@@PawPawsWorkShop I agree, You can sit the bristles on the board and the dust boot will still just go over the clamps. But if you are overly cautious your bump stops are great here.
I enjoyed this very much. I'm in the process of starting my own cnc business and I'm trying to learn as much as possible before I can get started. I would like to know if you have videos of designing and assembling chairs and bed side tables. Looking forward to hearing from you.
I tried it with MDF and made a slide lidded box. The cut groove was too close to the top, leaving only 1-1.5mm of wood, so the lid just pulled out. Do I need to modify the program before cutting?
I enjoyed today's video with the Box maker app. If you were to make a tray instead of a drawer how would you do curved handles on the sides. Thanks for the videos Bob
have this normal human dimensions metric system, because only 3 country in world use old bre-history cavemen imperial dimensions today. and have this software, easel or what have ???? for linux debian too or only old windows system.
All too often countries mix the different systems. The US is not different. We use both systems depending on the field that you are in and from reading many of the comments it seems many other countries do the same. It would be nice to have just one system everywhere
@@PawPawsWorkShop Thank you so much. I've commented so many time how much you've helped me learn. Not skipping steps, not being judgmental just easy going videos. Thank you sir
Yes, the basic easel is free and is a very easy program to learn and is very capable of doing many basics projects. If you chose to add the pro version then that is paid and it does add a number if additional features such a vcarving, raster, ramping and a number of other nice features
Don't ever use easel. It's the worst software ever for a cnc mashine. I know I was forsed to use it with my new cnc croncraft mashine. Worst time of my life right there.
Easel is an excellent beginner software that has a lot of the basic features you need to be successful. It’s easy to learn and you can get up and running quickly. You do not need a separate sender to get the project to the machine. It’s all there. I still use it today for quick projects and projects where I need to make changes and then carve another.
@@PawPawsWorkShop personally I had the worst experience with easel any person that starts with cnc could have. Since going over to aspire and lightburn I have never been happier.
Paw Paw... Your box and drawer making video is just awesome. I think that dust boot will fill on my C-Beam. Thanks
for a great video.
You are so welcome. Thanks for watching

The storm damage in the state is horrific. It will take a long time to recover
Happy to see you made it through the hurricane. Hope all is well.
Yes, we made it. The recovery will be long with a lot of rebuilding. We can do it.
Good to see you back. Power and services must be restored by now.

Paw Paw you rule! Thank you for this video!!

Thank you very much, enjoyed the video.😀
You’re so welcome. Thank you very much
I have thought about using the box maker in Easel. After watching your video you have convinced me to try it.Thanks
Awesome. Thanks for watching
Glad to see that you made it through Ida, and liked the video especially the part about not fitting the machine as I have a 3018.
Thank you very much. Yes, we made it through but just starting the recovery. Long long ways to go
Good day. I am so relieved that I found this video. Thank you very much. I was almost thinking I will never be able to use my CNC for box joints.
Question: What material are you using for this box?
Glad it was helpful! Masonite was the material used.
Another wonderful and informative video.
Thank you very much
Awesome tutorial!!!! Thank you!!! Question...why tabs on the drawer...but not on the box?.....Nevermind...you answered it at the end ☺
Just trying to show different options. Rarely use tabs at all. I’m always showing different techniques and methods to do the same thing
How do you compensate for the bit size you are using. I have tried this and the joints are very sloppy. Do you cut on outside of all the pieces. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Yes, the app generates on path which will make joints loose. Change to cut on outside

I’m being overly precautious. I don’t want to take the chance of any interaction with the dust boot to a clamp that could cause a problem

great videos , did you mention in a previous video about free Marines logo we could carve ? thanks
I have shred the logo on the Inventables project page. You can also get it from a Google search

I have some furniture built on y channel and I am planning on two end tables shortly. Thank you for watching

Yes, modify the box in any way that works for you
What dust boot is this? I have the dewalt DWP611 router also.
Thank you!

Same way. Edit the nodes by removing the ones that were not necessary and to accommodate the handle
Hi, I just got a cnc and it looks like you have some great videos about it! Is this version of Easel free? Or is it a paid version like the easel pro?
This is the.free version of Easel. Congratulations on getting the CNC. Should you have questions please ask
Have you tried to make a box with a hinged lid on the X-Carve?
Not yet. Sounds interesting
Just curious, what vacuum are you using.
You can use just about any shop vacuum. I have a Rigid
What if you want to use 2 types of wood? How do you do that?
thanks for the video, but, why no waste board underneath? you are gonna wreck your base board quick
😯👍👍👍👌
Thanks

I like the tape Idea, except for the fact that blue tape is out of control price wise.
Yes, like everything else, prices are crazy
You didnt happen to share this project did you?
Yes, it’s in the Inventables project page.
