Does wealth and a Western education change Chinese‘ CCP perspectives?

  • Over the past 40 years, many Chinese have accumulated significant wealth, and some have had the opportunity to study in the West. However, wealth and education have not necessarily transformed these Chinese elites into a genteel class. Despite their expensive attire and polished manners, many remain rude, selfish, and, at times, shameless. A considerable number still hold communist ideologies at heart.
    1. Victor Gao’s heated conversation with Mehdi Hasan.
    2. How Evergrande’s Xu Jiayin still controls his crumbling empire while in detention

@@user-hm7jc6ii7o If everyone defends present bad behavior by pointing to someone's past mistakes, the world will never progress. Confucius said (paraphrasing); among 3 people you will always find a teacher. If a person exhibits goodness, you emulate it; if someone has shortcomings, you introspect to make sure you don't have the same issues. So whether a person is good or bad, you can always learn from them. Confucius never taught people to deflect criticism by pointing to their past mistakes. But this is the present pattern of behaviour we keep seeing. Going 100 years into the past to defend/deflect the bad behaviour of the present. This isn't going to put anyone in a better position.

@suefarrar4754 CCP owes it to America for being able to grow economically and thus become so important they can bulley now otger nations. Tgey thinks that they are equal to America in world's standards but they are not. They copy and get what they can to imitate America, but can't on their own. The West Philippines Sea for example was never claimed by them till of late. It was stupid for our nationalist Philippines to have all American bases out in the Philippines, then suddenly, tgey thought why not claim the whole China Sea since the Americans left. CCP IS VERY OPPORTUNISTIC. So beware what it'll claim next!

CCP never ruled Taiwan and they are independent of CCP. Their economy never depend on Beijing for anything. America should not have agreed to making it into one china policy without Taiwan agreeing. It's America's fault for allowing this one China policy . He keeps insisting but it's not really up to him. They even want their children or give birth in western hospital to be registrated there and enjoys the ample benefits of that country. They know their native country cannot give them that but felt their parent there to be obligated to. One thing the western people should know that they take advantage of the freedom of the west to abuse it to their own advantage. They want what the west have but they dislike the western life. Both top Nazis, Goebbels and Speer, were highly educated men. Josef Goebbels, the Minister of Propaganda, had a PhD (in children's and folk literature) before he joined the Nazi Party and Albert Speer was a qualified architect with many years of study at prestegious institutions who was Minister of Armaments, later in WW2. Speer in particular, had a personal friendship with Hitler. Both these men did their Nazi ministry jobs professionally and well and ardently believed in Hitler and his totalitarian war aims and missions. There is absolutely no doubt about this.
An education alone thus, is not enough to realize the hollowness and ethical eggregious nature of totalitarian governments. Blindness towards evil may be a function of political relativism (the other side is doing this or done this, therefore we can as well). Actual evidence is unimportant, it's the political mission which over-rides everything (which is the ethical problem). Goebbels and Speer shows this, Victor Gao is mentally in a similar camp with the CCP; absolute belief without expressed doubts.

@Lei's Real Talk I recently discovered your channel and have enjoyed watching some of your videos. I think Mr Gao is "acting" in the role of an advocate, where he will emphasize the positives and spin the negatives. He is legally trained and has practiced law. His job is to present his client's position in the most favorable light. In this interview he is representing the CCP and presenting the CCP's views not his own. It doesn't matter whether he believes or doesn't believe what he is saying. What matters is that he is sufficiently convincing of what he is saying, so that the listener/audience believes. He is so skilled that he can argue for the CCP today, and argue against the CCP tomorrow. He isn't personally vested in what he is saying...

I find it disgusting to find how the people are treated in China and to learn of the greed and corruption of the CCP and others involved.
After reading Edgar Snow's, Red Star Over China, I thought that Mao's government would treat their people better. Mao didn't help any with the Cultural Revolution. He never really cared about the people except to tell them to work harder and build false pride in believing in China. I've got a lot more to say but, I hope everyone in China can restructure their government to change it for one that works better for them. I wonder what Dad would say about China today.

I believe the wrong question is being addressed: whether or not Taiwan should be allowed to independently exist or not. I think the correct questions are 1) should a government represent the will of the majority, if so then 2) does the CCP represent the desire and will of the majority of the Chinese, if they don’t then 3) what gives them the legitimate write to dictate any policy for anyone?

There is only one Italy, that is the Roman Empire that went from Britain to Lebanon, from Germany to Algeria. There is only one Mongol empire, from China to Turkey, from Mongolia to Sri Lanka. His claims are ridiculous. People have self-determination and Taiwan is an independent state. If China wants to incorporate Taiwan, then they should let them have a free and fair vote on that.

Everyone please also watch the whole video interview Victor Gao. It is so funny how he tells lies. He is arguing today is a sunny day during a massive cyclone day. He is so stupid and embarrassing to himself and the CCP.

I think your using a focal length on the camera that makes your face look sharper than normal. That can make shadows and creases look deeper. It can make someone look older and make the nose look bigger.
