Hey Jack,, An even more epic video for you to think about would be more of a combination of 2 of your video ideas,, And that is to set different types of fish traps from small to medium to large,, Bait them up & Put a camera inside the trap,, Like at the inlet,, etc. for several hours,, Because THAT my fish lovin' brother would be super cool & your subscribers (Including myself) would love that,, Getting to see what creatures come in first,, What they eat or don't,, Their actions once inside,, Etc..Etc..PLEASE at the very least,, Consider the idea..Your loyal subscriber,,

You or/and Chris should do a video on what fishing gear you use and why. I'm in the market for a new quality rod n reel.
A video with proper traps…store bought…small mesh…proper entries so they can’t get out…you will be surprised at how many more fish you catch…or build a proper one with smaller mesh and proper openings…been waiting 5 years for that one. That trap was completely open at one end…how is that a trap…I don’t want to make jack feel bad cause he’s awesome but just watch any other fish trapping video and you will see.
And tie the bait to the bottom of the trap so they can’t get it from the outside
That giant opening without any type of a lip or funnel shape makes it far too easy for fish to find their way back out.
Yes…how nuts does it drive you that after five years of watching that they haven’t caught on to properly building traps…I love their videos but this is the most frustrating thing…on the net they have the least amount of success compared to everyone else who are doing it.

put a bait pouch at the back of the trap that way you won't lose any bait and the fish can't steal the bait.

You should try using a little caution cone for the opening
Oooo ngl I like that idea. I personally would love to see the fish go to town on a carcass
You should consider making your traps out of rubber coated wire mesh, instead of making a box with PVC you can just make a large cylinder, and using the wire mesh you can also roll it into a large funnel that fits in the trap, any excess wire sticking out can be folded back over the cylinder, if it starts to sag anywhere in the trap not to worry you can probably get away with just 1 or 2 supports in the middle of the trap, and ofc at the end zip tie everything

Fish really gotta have some of the craziest stories that snapper got caught by a human ate by a pelican then spit out like how do they tell the other fish😂😂

Very cool idea but the problem is the opening. Fish tend to follow the bottom and could easily go in and out without worry. They make fish traps with the funnel because it's a gentle incline where the fish still think they are following the bottom, but when it lips around the fish can no longer follow the bottom to leavr. You will definitely need to raise the opening off the ground. Also if you create some form of funnel system, maybe a bucket with a hole cut in back, it would work better. Keep up the fire videos
Jack I think you should combine the two bigger fish traps into one and it over night to what you can catch in the the trap

If you catch a keeper sized shark, parrot fish, or one of those super colorful eels (think you call it a yellow edge) in that trap please for the love of life keep it

I personally think you should do a straight eel pond to see all the diffent kinds you catch.
Imagine having a green, chain, zebra, yellow edge,.... all in one pond even get a Tes and ribbon to put in and put in some schooling fish like sand perch, baby SMs, and glass minnows. U know nothing small and fancy so if the eels eat them it won't be a big deal

1 Put your bait in a pair of ladies' stockings, cheep and disposable, and that way, the bait doesn't just disappear fast. Secondly you should have a tapered cone entrance on a fish trap . The hole you made will let them just swim out !

To improve it I think instead of cutting the flap out cut it but leave the bottom zip tied and get loose rubber bands and attach that to the flap openings. That should leave the opening loose enough to push through but not back out

I loved how ready he was to rescue a kitten but was kind of disappointed it was a family of ducks kind of wasn't cause a family of ducks is cute but we should try and get him a cat he seems to like them and that bird was like thanks humans at first until he spit out like could you get me a smaller one next time that one was too big to fit down my throat because they don't chew them they swallow them hole they slid them down their throat with the sea water because it helps them slid down better but if its to big because their throats are super slim and if the fish is too wide and too big they can actually choke to death on them if they aren't careful and don't spit back out in time

What area is this in? I am planning a Florida Trip and want to go snorkeling. Looking for good areas that have fish so I can go film fish. I am used to diving in Hawaii and California but Florida freaks me out because of the Sharks and Alligators. So far I figured out Tampa and above can be scary, but looking for safeish places to go diving and maybe do what you do and just toss a net and see what you get. I also want to iguana hunt. If anyone here has great ideas let me know.
