- Well, some people have commented on my past videos on the lated 1/2" dr. impact from Snap On, some stating: No Balls. Well, The MG725 I used to have couldnt come close to the output this one has.
FYI: If you got one and it has issues, send it in and Snap On will send you a new one as of the time that this vid was posted.

No balls eah? That's doing the same shit my $900.00+ 3/4 snap-on does. Sure the 3/4 might do it with a bit more haste, but come on! $600.00 compared to damn near a grand! I'd say that pretty damn impressive.
Very true. I have even used adapters up to 1" for 2 1/4" socket to pull yoke nut of pinions with it. Granted do try to use shops 3/4 if it isnt in use in trailer bay, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, and sometimes you gotta test what something will or wont do just because you need a bit of entertainment in the shop lol. Thank you for watching!
Pretty dumb when you can buy a Milwaukee cheaper and does the job better lmao
@@texasboy9701 or an Ingersoll Rand 2235TiMAX
@@CreepinCreeper145 this has outlasted 6 2235 ti maxes in our shop since i got it. And 400 i spent on the snappy vs 600 for the Chinese IR's... i will stick with snappy
@@texasboy9701 the batteries die after around a year if you give it daily use and each battery cost you around 180 dollars might as well buy the 600 dollar impact that’ll last you around 5+ year’s
I always like to randomly check out people’s most popular vids on UA-cam. This one is your. 😁👍
+Vans World hehehe, one of my most trolled vids lolol
Man those things were crossed threaded
Lol, well less so cross threaded than jacked up from where the driver took it into highway divider, even broke the hub cap apart when he did it lol. Thanks for watching!
Just bought its little brother PT650 and it’s pretty ballsy too. Great video sir
its been hella impact for the past couple of years!
Dang at the threads that came right out the nut good video Brandon Brother
Them studs are mangled all to hell
I love the PT850, much more comfortable then the mg725. I've had zero issues with power. Large cajones
same with mine, its been a hella hard hitter for sure! thank you for watching!
Must've got his sandals caught in the throttle and hit the barrier pole at the fuel island! I run Mac's 1/2" and 3/4" and like them alot, have any history with Mac's composite guns? I run a service truck for a construction company in Michigan. We have 8 axle live bottoms and gravel trains along with everything else, and we get some unreal breakdowns. The heavier it is, the harder it breaks!! Just subbed to you, cool to see a truck guy doing reviews and
whatnot, will be checking your stuff out for sure, take we easy! (Accidentally sent message before I was done haha)
Lol, its all good. I dont personally have experience with mac's air tools, Matco and Mac seem too lazy or makin too much money to bother stoppin by our shop. Was able to compare sizes of a mac with the PT (another guy traded his mac in) and over all size are pretty close and on weight too. I do like macs antivibe hammers though, they are nice for sure. And you are right on the heavy breakin courtesy of super trucker, if their is a way, they have the will lolol. Thankyou for watching and the good comparative input!
LOL Hot nuts! I got to admit I never use a 1/2 gun on wheel nuts. Because they are working too hard their life is cut shorter. And yes you are quite correct,.. you need a good compressor for the CFMs.
Yeah it can be, but, i plan on running this gun through its paces lol
Man we had a set of narrow scales where I work 3 out of 5 do that same thing had them crawl their front tires off the scale deck on the studs and they never hit the brakes think the whole time tire guy going to love you next time
Yeah we get some every so often (usually just like 2 or 3 that just cut the very end of with grinder) but this guy did it so well he even broke the hub oil cap too... Was neat to see what the impact wpuld do though
Ive used my pt850 on longging trucks with caked on mud and dirt on the lug nuts. Shot of penetrating oil and it takes em off with gusto. Also saves me from lugging around the 40lb beast 1 inch impact at the shop!
+Mason McNutt i hear ya, this lil jobber does good indeed, ive been happy with it overall past several months for sure
came here to throw shade, AC 1150 for life! Great demonstration video though
lolol, thank you for watching!
What size air fitting are you using? Mine can take truck wheel nuts off too but not that well. It struggles a bit and I have a 33mm socket with a 1/2 drive.
Just 3/8" fitting on 50ft of 3/8" airline. What are the wheel nuts set to/with going back on?
The pt850 has plenty of power. Anyone who says otherwise needs a real compressor. I run mine at 140psi (at the gun, 175 at the tank unregulated) on 3/8 air lines with hi flow fittings. It's got plenty of balls for sure.
Wow dude your vid is getting some views 😁👍👍 hell yeah
I checked this afternoon after i saw email notification from ya for this msg, and man, no kiddin for sure, had 800 yesterday afternoon (like 4 or 5 so days air time by then) cant wait to see what comes down the line when i get to breakin half inch ratchets lolol
Bearded Seabee82 haha. I wanna see you break a 3/4 " wratchet lol lol
The 725 does have about 100 ft lbs more torque then the pt850..... plus the composite housing kinda scares me. But take care of your shit and you’re golden. Good video brotha!
Oh, i would have definitly pitted the pt850 vs mg anyday after past 4 or 5 years now and countless tires and pinion nuts removed with it... i beat the hell out of this impact... definitly was not nice to it. Although am poss finally maybe gonna re-vein it. Dunno, might wait til she goes full.send...
Oh and thanls for watching too. Do appreciate. And as for housing... well only thing ive done is replace boot each year or so...
Watched your vid on moving those huge epics, and then this one, on the pt850....you just got a new subscriber!
I want to make a SHOP move and was curious about moving a HUGE box....what it cost ya to move them babies if ya don't mind me askin?
+bodymanruss518 Thankyou! And as for the guy that owned the epiqs, well, im guessin he shelled out prob around 400 ish, he dropped off back set at his house couple miles up road, but then took his mr big to his new job.
I get nightmares about my desiel technician experiment gone bad
I’ve been thinking about trading in my 725. I tested out a buddies at work to see how I liked it, specifically for taking lug nuts off 40’ transit buses, and I have to say I was not that impressed. I had 150 psi going to the gun and it didn’t seem anymore powerful than my 725. Not to knock the gun, it looks to run very strong in the video.
Ive heard input from some others, even my truck guy had one person first batch last year, of couple out there not being what had claimed, they sent theirs in and came back with whole new purpose to life in air gun, could be his might ha e been one of those, kind of hard to say. For me like i stated when i upgraded was good deal on it, and ovee year later mine in particular still running hard. Would ask your truck guy if he has loaner for you to try and make your decision with larger sample size input.
According to Real Tool Reviews, the MG725 is slightly stronger.
You know real tool reviews hasnt put out a vid in years, not has he used a pt850 in a shop for a few years straight using it to take off wheel and pinion nuts.... using adapters up to 1".....
@@BeardedSeabee82 Yes, and? When was the last time you used a MG725 in the shop? Been a few years? Just playing devil’s advocate here. I’m not saying PT850 has no balls, or that it can’t get the job done. I’m only saying that according to the only available test data, it is in fact weaker than an MG725. I’m sure that eventually both will show up on The Torque Test Channel, if you want more current data and a different test rig.
RTR also stated the hft was better than snap on's on his channel. And i had my mg725 for several years before i traded it in.
A good video. The proof of a tool, is the doing. And that PT850 did it.
THanks ROn!
I'll check out the deal with the jacket this Wednesday when he comes in.. it kinda looks like we do the same kind of work..I build fuel oil delivery trucks n all the repairs that go with it so I'm always using this gun n trust me I'm not easy on tools in this type of work & you know what I mean.. I just finished changing the running gear on a 12.500 gal tank trailer tandom with lift axle so yes my new rebuilt gun took a beating.. so if n when I see a good deal I'll share it with you.. where is your shop.? I'm in upstate ny
+jdecker1219 I am in central iowa, company i work for based out of wisconsin, and yup, doesnt take long for tools to take a beating indeed. We got most of our fleet swapped over to CNG and luckily all hauled equip are dry vans.
it's got a big ol set of nuts.. lol. great video
Hehehe, i do what i can to attract as many trolls as possible lol. But, i thought was a great instance to prove a valid point on a purchase. At least so far on the impact vids no one has trolled me personally for a change lolol
Thanks for the vid. May I know the cause why too many lugs were stripped?
The driver of the truck got into a fight against the curb, mushroomed all but one of the wheel studs, even broke out the hub oil cap. Had to pound out all the bad and replace with new ones
Bearded Seabee82 that sucks when that happens ...... drivers ..... enough said huh ?
I'm impressed with it mine should be in soon can't wait
If it does seem like it acts up ( talked to my route guy yesterday, out of the 76 hes sold he had to send 1 back) send in as soon as you can because right now they are just shipping out new for any warranty stuff
While I still love my MG725 and I don't have a need to upgrade to the PT850, you gotta admit the fact that the PT850 can take off semi lug nuts with an adapter plus a socket is impressive. You lose quite a bit of torque with the more stuff you have stacked on the anvil. So for people to complain the PT850 is weak? Well I mean this video just kinda showed it's pretty capable
+BrettDN Both capable guns, my 725 used to have was just gettin worn out over years so for me, was worth trade in vs send in for rebuild. It will perform for sure and I will not complain about either gun for what expected out of each. Thankyou for watching!
Our shop air is at 160 psi but generally we use 1/4" quick disconnects with 3/8 hose. Are you using 3/8" fittings with 1/2 ID hose? I may have to switch to larger fittings and find a way to regulate that 1/2" line down to 90psi. With my current setup I am not impressed with the gun yet and am actually considering returning it and buying and IR2235.
Also are you using shop air and if so what PSI are you guys running? From what I've gathered we run our shop air at unusually high pressures, likely because of our 1" CP tire guns. I much prefer using my own tools though whenever possible. I take very good care of my tools but there are a few bastards I work with who don't take care of our shop tools whatsoever.
Bryan Dunn We have a smaller screw compressor that runs about 130 psi, we use 3/8 hose and fittings. We go through at least 1 IR 3/4" impact every 6-9 months. Shops 3/4 snap on was rebuilt 2 years ago, so far i never had to send my 725 in before i traded it, other guy hadnt sent his in while i was workin there. TMC shop here in Des Moines was one of the test beds for the PT, that shop had never had a 725 last more than a year before having to get sent back. Talkin to my snap on guy after i did the vid, he did have one guy have an issue with his, snap on sent new one to replace, so far no issues since.
Only issue I've had with mine aside from it struggling with lug nuts on RGN trailers (1/4 mnpt x 1/4 couple with 3/4 hose at 160psi) was it kept freezing up on me with ice inside the motor, I'm assuming. It stopped after I used an inline regulate and took it down to 90psi but I'm wondering if I'm just not giving it enough air supply. My SO guy comes on fridays so hopefully I can make it to home depot or somewhere tomorrow and get a new fitting to try with our 1/2" lines before I make the decision to return it, assuming he'll even let me.
Bryan Dunn is there an air dryer in loop with it?
Bearded Seabee 82 nope, and i meant 3/8 line with those fittings. The lack of a dryer and oiler is why i liberally oil it every time i use it. Nobody in my shop seems to have as much care for their tools as i do. tempted to buy my owm hose, regulator and fittings to tap into our shop air and my gun and just take it with me around the shop when i need my impact. Definitely not a cheap option but oh well i guess :/
It's an improvement over the 725 for sure, but unfortunately the IR or Aircat crush it as far as I can tell. The aircat is a thing of beauty as far as egronmoics Go.
I have the stubby aircat, and for what that lil guy is (especially for $100 price tag) its a micro beast. as for the IR, my experience with them in the shop, for the 3/4" that the shop would normally get, hasnt been good, 1st one made in USA lasted about 1.5yrs, 2nd "assembled in USA, lasted about a year, and most recent "Made in china" lasted 3 months. Had to use my snap on again the other day adapted up to 1" for the 2 1/4" socket to pull yoke nut off to do pinion seal as we are waiting to see whats going to go on with the 3/4" impact. My vote is shop gets an aircat, but will see yet (would prefer 1" but my vote doesnt always get heard sometimes)
@@BeardedSeabee82 there's no reason not to have a 1" either. I have two in my cabinet just for fun. Used off ebay but they last a long time. Your shop 3/4 sounds like abuse maybe. Does it ever get oil? My 3/4 ir is 3 years going strong, and it gets passed around but I maintain it with grease and oil myself.
@@R3llim87 oiled before first use every morning, and depending how long used throughout day would maybe oil more. I woukd grease them prob couple times a week. 1" woukd be nice, but we only have 3/8" airlines in the shop.
Oh the cats are monster I got a 1250 nitrocat an I'm pulling old rusted 5th wheel bolt off with ease.
My 20v IR battery 1/2 has done that same thing... So does my 10year old IR titanium air.. , they both will loosen crank bolts on Hondas also ,,, guy next to me has a Snap-On, after 3 Tbelt jobs not yet,, ,..(. I bought a Snap-on half inch impact years ago, that aluminum boat anchor they used to sell it was expensive and heavy) , I'll stay with IR but nice video...
I have always been curious about the IR titaniums, havent seen one on tool truck yet to pick up in hand and compare, i have never heard anything bad about em. Few years back when was looking into upgrading my 1/2 cordless to new brushless (yet to do, gonna stick with milwaukee though) saw ratings on IR cordless, but then saw the price tag, hehe, either way, Tool truck or some cordlesses, its gonna get us one way or the other lol. Thankyou for the input and for watching!
loosen honda crank bolts with a 10yr gun regardless of brand thats is amazing please tell us more of this story!!!!
Rick sir the IR 2235 is a powerful gun, I just buy the pt 850 and is a piece shit
I have an IR 2235 and a PT850 I like the 850 for everyday work (even tho it's blown up at the moment. Hope it doesn't turn out like my old MG725 that spent more time off to snap on blown up 6 times in 2 years) Ingersoll Rand makes the best air tools hands down.
Will putting adapters on before socket lose punch as a posed to fitting socket directly to the drive?
+xxnickthegreekxx it can lose bit of percentage using adapter, I usually use 1/2" dr 1 5/16" socket, but went this eoute for shits and giggles for this particular vid
Milwaukee fuel 2763 impact is one of the coldest M/F guns that ever hit this side of naked bounds.......should be outlawed & illegal to own it.........that's how bad ass this gun is....because a impact gun in red & black can be your scariest nightmare.......
I know I need to upgrade the rest of my cordless line up, got the 1/4" and 3/8" impacts upgraded to fuel, got the brushed 1/2" and 3/4" impacts yet, but its one thing at time, although might have to do some battery replacements first as the others are goin on almost 7 years come this spring. Dont worry, when I upgrade to the fuels there will be vids to come. Great comment btw and thank you for watching!
Guys, it really helps when your supply air line is greater than 1/4 inch. One inch is best
Lol sorry, shop only has 3/8 at best after passong through a cpuple 1/4" fittings to get there. Wish we had 1/2" though
Been reading the comments everyone is a internet mechanic people who talk shit don’t have shit i run the shop compressor at 145 psi we have lots or volume people want to run air tools on pancake compressors lol
awesome ending. badass gun
Thankyou!
you should take a look at the Milwaukee 2768 impact its 18v and it will take off semi lug nuts also no need for the hose 😉
Oh trust me, that milwaukee been on my wishlist for while for sure!
i hear that im trying to get one asap
returned mine after four months it had a dis lodged bushing that caused no power, i think all the plastic ones suck anyway got the metal one now
Been rockin hell outa mine for 5 and a half years now
A bit issue I see alot of folks run into is to small of air supply. Snap on is ok,just over priced. I would love to see you do a Earth Quake Rattler gun torture test.
They are spendy indeed, but between trade in from my old impact when they had preliminary offer, for me was decent enough deal to warrant it. As for hft EQ, perhaps down road if ad rev adds up to enough to get one (between a good coupon deal and warranty) or perhaps another brand off amazon as well. Nitro cat has been another for their full sized ones i have been curious about since their stuby 1/2" has been hell of a little impact. Thank you for commenting and suggestion
@540 MUDSTAIN yeah, guy in shop has one, doesnt get near the use my impact does. Although after having a stack of the IR 3/4 q i max impacts crap out over past couple years (all chinese origin components, last couple all made in china) would rather stick to taiwan made aircat, but we FINALLY aquired a 1" CP (also taiwan) for use in trailer bay. But with abuse i put my stubby aircat through this past year and change and what they cost anyone wanting aircat wouldnt blame em. Great cost (northern, amazon, etc) and they take hell of beating
Not really a snap on amything but doing that with an a-daptor is some Balls! Respect.
THank you for watching, true snap on pricey as hell, for home/hobby lots of cheaper priced options out there, but for hard use ratchets in particular hard to beat. What are some of your fav's?
I do love quality tools, but snap on is not as much of a thing here in finland as it is in america. The pricing sure is bit out there, and maybe aimed more to companies than diy'ers, but if they got the quality to back it up, why not. Here in finland quality tools mean mainly german made ones, which i love. Wera, Wiha, Felo and Knipex are good quality and affordable. Then there is the european Snap-on, Metabo, which has silly prices for a home gamer. Hence why when it comes to power tools im more a makita guy
makita makes some good tools as do of course wera wiha and knipex (have used those 3 for sure good number of years). As for metabo, they do make some of the best corded grinders I have ever come across and used, and pricing isnt all too bad here in states anyways, all the grinders we had at steel plant i used to work at were metabo and they definitely have quality behind those. especially their 7 1/2" beast mode grinders
Nice gun looks powerfull to me was that corrosion on the studs?
Nope, driver got into a bad fight with a tall curb/rock or something, mushroomed the ends on the studs
Bearded Seabee82 that just makes it more bad ass impressed took threads out I think that was a good trade up. The big thing is you like it and it does the job even with one and two adapters love your vid oh by the way thanks for your service to our country
I'm trying to love this gun. I really like the style the look the weight. Etc. But running 3/8ths hose and 1/4th fittings at the shop it feels like its lacking. I had a 2015 bmw 328xi today and it had a difficult time taking off one of the 17 metric lug nuts. I'm fairly disappointed in this gun. Will running a high flow 1/4th milton v style fittings and couplers make this fun work better. I want it to be good. But my cheap Paoli gun is busting its ass left and right. That gun by the way has balls looks like a copy of the Ir 2235. Please help I like the look but hate the performance
Are you also running regulated or unregulated? I ask because my shop we run unregulated due to lack of volume, 3/8 lines and fittings, but between main hard lines and end of hose reels are few 1/4" restrictions from when shop was set up(why, i have not a clue)
Get and old mac gun AWP612Q, rebranded air cat.
I will admit that thing does have some balls, especially when using an adapter.
Its been getting job done quite well for over good year now and still kickin butt! Thankyou for watching!
Bearded Seabee82 if it works then that's all that matters and you're very welcome. It looks to be above and beyond expectation.
looks like a nice impact however the mg725 is more powerful. Real tool reviews did a review comparing the two impacts and the mg725 came out on top.
I saw that last night, but the thing that does it for me, is regardless of the socket/adapter combo, in that past few shops ive worked in, I was never able to remove a yoke nut off of a power divider with the 725. I always had to go to 3/4" impacts. with the 850 I got 2 months ago, that was the first thing i tested it out on. It had to work a bit for it, but it amazingly did the job. So a bit more of "proof in the pudding" on my end. 725 will always be great, but, I think I made a good choice on the upgrade for the deal I got.
Bearded Seabee82 oh nice! yea definitely a nice gun. and i know its like almost a pound lighter than the 725 which is nice.
For me, its been hella gun, and noticeably lighter, not by lil, but nearly a pound. For my hands at least does feel more ergonomic too (was only born with one pair lol), In all, both outstanding impacts, but for the unit I wound up getting, it performs like a champ for a "do most" impact for sure!
He has it on a compressed tank or something, I know because a coworker has one and regrets trading his old one for it
It runs off just standard shop air, same air i tried to run the 725 off of, the 5 year old 725 i had honestly wouldnt do the same as what i have asked the 850 to do, 725 is still a great gun, but i have had great luck with my 850 however
Its good a first but after like a year it looses power, ive gone through like 2 of them
Its been about 5 years now that I bought mine, several months back finally started occasionally bypassing air at rest, aside from that no issues (has been used alot on wheel nuts, pinion nuts etc over years though)
@@BeardedSeabee82 It could be maybe I got a bad one because when i first got it I loved it but like a few months after I got it I had to get it rebuilt under warranty because it was losing power and it was working fine until like about a month ago it started giving me the same issue again. I lubricate and every properly and ive only had it for like almost 3 years now but i literally just this weekend i bought the IR 2235 so lets see how that one works, planning on still getting the snapon one rebuilt though but later on
So what do you think about the cordless stuff
Depends, i dont use snapon cordless, just milwaukee at work
I love my 725 too much to let it go just yet
I was hesitant too, but after 6 or so years on my end was either time to send in for refurb or take trade in. if yours isnt that old and still goin strong no one should complain i believe
Bearded Seabee82 I've had mine for about 6 years too.. rebuilt once
Something is wrong with thoes studs or a lot of rust on those studs. Mine spin right off after you unseat the nut
Well, its like i me tioned in vid, driver took wheel into highway divider, hence broken oil hub cap.
Like he said you must have volume of air, small compressors are a waste of time. Must have air. Works for me...
Shop runs 1"pipe to all drop legs coming from screw compressor, from each drop leg we run 3/8" airlines, do wish we had a 1/2" to run our 1" gun we now have for trailer bay, but 1" been working pretty well thus far on what we have in shop. Still using my 1/2" on tractors well over 2 years later without hiccup, (and we have had approx 5 or so 3/4" IR qimaxs crap out where my snap on has shined)
no better job security for a mechanic than working on freightliner trucks
Chaka Gillis hehe, especially these cngs with some of our drivers, hell drivers alone are making sure we have job security lolol
I just bought pt850 I trade in my mg725 got a great trade in for it
+rmartinjr83 nice and 300 trade is DAMN good deal! Better deal than i got lol.
I'm waiting for the green ....... hopefully august
philZX10R makes me wonder if they will make a pink boot for em to match my tool cart just to annoy the other guys in the shop lolol
Lug studs look new . The lug studs on big trucks are fine thread and looks strep out any ways . Do the same video with rusty and nasty lug studs !!
Truck had between 20k and 30k on it at time of vid when driver took wheel into highway divider mushrooming everything and hit it hard enough to break hub oil cap.
My pt850 has hardly any power, can't even get lug nuts off lol I sent it in to snap on to be looked at and they said nothing wrong with it. But it for sure doesn't have the power it is supposed to have
Wow, i have been abusing hell oita mine for 4 years now, just started bypassing air this fall though and had it sent in to get rebuilt, back to new pretty much. What sizr of airlines and fittings are you using?
I certainly wouldn't say it has no balls. I'd say it doesn't have any more than my 725, though. Plus, I think the 725's forward/reverse switch is more intuitive than the PT's side to side switch. I honestly think Snap-On only came out with this to compete with Matco's composite guns (which also has the side to side switch).
I don't know but you kinda look like Dan bilzerian. was thinking about when the babes were gonna show up
Im still waiting on them to show up too lmao! Imagine how many subscribers I woukd have if i had half a dozen gals like those always helping me do tool reviews lol
Try undoing a Mercedes 2008 sprinter wheel nut. That's the real test 🤣
🤣🤣👍 thank god i dont have to see those anymore since i left penske lolol
I use a breaker bar with a long probably 2m steel pipe on it 😂
Love the sarcasm bro
Lol, thank you
What size supply line and how many psi on the supply line?
3/8", and prob about 115 -120 at hose end.
Why would use a 1/2 it takes so long just get a 1inch quick
+BodalaWale wish the shop would get one, trailers that have had studs replaced on hubs are hella bitch to get lugs off using shops IR 3/4
Love my PT850
Me too! thank you for watching!
I would say that is great! I would use that anyway!
those lug nuts were loose looks like it broke them loose at the first hit then struggles to take them all the way out yeah right
Lets forget the fact that after truck hit highway divider and fucked up the studs it also broke off the hub cap... yeah... lets forget about any of that... anyways... ON TO THE NEXT TROLL!!!🍻🇺🇲🖕
An example of how not to use a 1/2" impact. It may have balls but not for long if you continue to subject the tool to this kind of abuse. Use the correct tool either a 3/4" or 1", a lot less run time and you won't suffer from white finger at an early age. Remember The specs on all impacts are not worth the paper they are written on it's just a marketing ploy!
+James Suckling oh my goodness, i cant believe ive been doin it all wrong for all these years, Oh my... Thank you Soooo much for setting me srraight, I will have to lock up my pink toolbox for the day, go home, and think about the bad Ive done in the world
Looks like it's got plenty of balls to me
i think it has more to do with how much air pressure your lines have
tiny screw compressor, about 100 to 110 ish working psi by time it gets to gun
there is no way I would trade an mg725 for this. look at the stats... it's a downgrade. when did snap on sell an mg725 for under 300.00? It's still way more than that now. that poor gun is gonna hate life lol
Bruce Allen I just bought a mg725 for $257. Snap-on student discount. I spent a month deciding between the pt80 and a mg725. Someone I work with has a mg725 and a pt80 needless to say he doesn’t use the pt80.
I agree. Sticking with my 725
725 is a great gun
I think it's very good, but keep in mind, you are using a bigger air line than in a automobile repair shop. Dave...
+Dave Ridgeway true, some places only have 1/4", too little volume for my taste, we run 3/8 here shop i work at, wish we had a 1/2" for the shops 3/4" gun however. Thankyou for watching!
I kept waiting for one of those HOT nuts to fall into your boot!
WalkerKlondike lol, i wear leather steel toe boots
I personally will stick to the MG725
Well to each their own, but after ovee 4 years of beating hell out of the pt850, to me, it was worth the upgrade
ua-cam.com/video/Qs8pLhUg5ME/v-deo.html
On paper from snap on, MG725 and PT850 has same exact specs except for weight, 850 weighs 1/2 pound less.... I doubt you guys will notice a difference in hand side by side. MG725G is way sexier imo. But the air flow selector switch is garbage. PT850 Has better functions if you ask me but feels like a damn toy....
Tommy Baughman Actually it is noticeable enough, got a side by side comparison vid from few months ago. From goin right from the 725 to the 850, for me, it has been a nice lil bump up in the shop
ok I'm back again..I sent my 850 out to gone thru bcuz yes it was still a P.O.S but now that I have it back I have a different opinion on it.. it really does have some nuts.. but where I'm going with this is about 2 mnths ago my snap on dealer handed me the hot tools pamphlet n as I'm paging thru it I noticed when you buy this gun it comes with a free set of 1/2 drive impact extensions so if any of you guys go thru a dealer check with him to see if you can get them like I got mine
+jdecker1219 yeah i remember that flyer, might still have fin box yet. Now they got the deal buy the grey and get the heated kacket w it. Mine can be kind of stickler about certain deals depending on whats on special, but not bad idea to press him bit. Glad they got er all fixed up for ya, i know alot of people out there have had their own opinioms on it having never even tried using it, yours was genuine gripe.
ir9000q outruns every half inch gun I've owned and come across
SCUBA SAM havent seen or handled one honestly to say either way honestly. I wish i had sponsor ships to afford good number of impacts mentioned on the 850 vids ive done
I bought one about 8 months ago after getting tired of my mg725 not having enough balls to get the jobs done, and I gotta say it's the best impact I've ever owned and it's quiet.but my mg725 holds a special place in my heart for being the first real impact I ever bought
SCUBA SAM Too true, when i got mine several years ago, then it was like beast mode. now, well..... But, I think I might have come close to killin my 850, shops 3/4" IR was bypassing too when i got done using them both last thursday, had to switch between the 2 to allow time for each to thaw... was a bad day in general
That VHS intro tho.
Snap-On will always have haters. It happens when you're the best.
I'm new to working on cars, been looking around for just good quality, long lasting tools. To be honest I didn't want to buy into hype at first but I can't find anything that impressed me as much as far as quality and warranty
If you are just getting started, Capri, Tekton, and some of the offerings by Gearwrench, can be good place to look first. Tools that are of good price, quality, warranty that will get job done. As you progress further, the more you get into what you do/dont need.
You look like the singer from clutch. Like, a lot.
Well that's one more tool to buy.
If you are able to get one on a promo/trade in special, its worth the thought, but if they arent, well... I hear AIRCAT makes a heck of a 1/2" that is supposed to be good bang for buck
Bearded Seabee82 are going to do a toolbox tour video anytime soon?
I plan to here sometime soon, I will probably try to get some footage over the week and compile together for options
i just bought. my is good. it looks like the mg is beter
Few other people I know personally that also used to own the MG are loving the PT. I dont doubt there might be some lemmons runnin around out there with this being first phase and new production. hopefully kinks get worked out (like anything else new). but so far mines been a champ (until it dies or i kill it lolol)
You running 1/2 airlines?
Kevin Chia we just run 3/8 airlines and fittings in the shop. Got a small screw compressor w dryer in loop, Kinda wish we had larger air tank though and a backup compressor
Ever tried the mg650? Supposed to be 900 ft pounds breakaway. $460 dollars
You mean pt650? It was the prototype by souix tools for snap ons pt850
Iw500mp-4r is the souix tools model i believe they run hair cheaper than snap on, but as said, snap on owns souix tools who makes all their air tools for them, used to be based out of souix city iowa til several years ago relocated to north carolina so still us made
It’s called a torque stick!! Dam tire techs 😤
yeah weve got one, 3/4"dr yellow, this vid is few years old so i would have to rewatch myself to see where you are talking about.
should've ground those lugs before taking the bolts of
those nuts wouldn't be damaged then
steven yau We keep healthy stockpile of wheel nuts on hand and foreman wanted new ones put on with mew bolts anyway. But was fun lil vid to prove point to some trolls out there
haha ok just saying that those nut's were still in good condition
Lmao I see from the vid you do not live in ny.. with the AR15 being stock n not like mine being ny compliant the BS safe act is what it is BS.. must be nice.!!!! Take care buddy
+jdecker1219 Eeesh "Safe Act", Man that would drive me nuts, I mean lord forbid you and a short friend go to range and be able to shoot same/similar firearm with some ease just by making an adjustment. Alot of that crap never really made any sense to me. "But it looks scary, and has been known to give reporters ptsd" is a load of BS indeed. Couple gals i go shooting with are 4'11 and they like their AR and shoot em just fine lolol.
@@BeardedSeabee82 "been known to give reporters PTSD" lol.
I just bought this particular gun. Thanks. It's just a lower rpm gun at like 5600...I do admit that I like the higher rpm guns though. That might explain people complaining about "no balls."
Personally I’ve had one and it has no balls. The MG takes off the same things that mine won’t it’s infuriating. I’m trading it in quite shortly
Would send it in for warranty. Been another last year commented same on this vid, he said when he got it back took on whole new meaning for him, so quite possible is same with the one you had gotten
Got Her Done!
also I'm I'm not mistaken even the new guns are rated for 90psi... too much above that shortens the life span of tool.
rated working psi is what factories measure avg output at. so keep in mind off regular air compressor with 30ft of 3/8 airline, about 100 to 105psi at regulator will push roughly 90 ish at working when tool in use. the fact all our airlines in shop are about 60 to 75ft of 3/8 by the time it gets to the tool it does loose some psi (prob working around the 95 to 100 range by time air gets to the tool).if i were running this on 1/2 airline at 150 to 160 like some shops, oh yeah that would really shorten up lifespan on it for sure
Pfffff Who the fuck uses only 90 psi. I run 160 at my home garage. LOL
My Snapon dealer said 120psi won’t hurt it. He takes good care of me. Also, mine works much better now that it’s broken in after 6 months. It’s not the most powerful composite gun, but for its weight it feels like it’s made for heavy use. The Red Line oil filled impact housing keeps everything lubed up and cool.
+Diesel Man Just curious. Where are you measuring the psi at? At the compressor or at the tool? If at the compressor regulator it all depends on the line/fittings on what the tool will see.
If you run standard 3/8" airline with 90psi this gun is a straight up P.O.S just like everyone is saying NO BALLS.. of course if your running 1/2" airline at 150psi then you've got your hands full.. definitely NOT worth 600.
+jdecker1219 lmao, we dont have a 1/2" airling in entore shop. Only 3/8" on 75ft spools throughout shop lol and pos air compressor shop has wont ever even see 150 psi. Only paid 380 ish for it
Has less working torque than the mg725 kinda sucks...if you count it as an upgrade when it's really just a downgrade
well if such was the case i coulda traded my 725 for earthquake from HF lol. 725 wasnt ever able to pull yoke nuts on power dividers regardless of shop i worked at or socket/adapter combo. 850 will do it with 2 adapters to 1"dr for 2 1/4 socket
Harlan Dudrak Not unless a shotload of lemons were sold across midwest, mine wasnt only one to not pull em off power dividers on freightliner columbias or cascadias, even when i worked at freightliner dealership, just sayin
Harlan Dudrak So youve used both then? one on one day the other the next?
Harlan Dudrak Before freightliner, shop was at ran comp at 140 psi for the 1" tire guns, tried it theee with 1/2 and 3/8 airlines using 3/8 fittings, was no go, dealership ran 125, curret shop runs about 130 on a screw also, all airlines in shop are 3/8. I wont ever talk down the 725, loved mine, but been usin 850 over 2 months now, and deal i got well, was worth it to me
Harlan Dudrak I know one guy diff shop same snappy route, he did get a lemmon, sent it back, they sent him brand new one about 4 weeks back he had no probs since
I just bought the Snap-on composite I was putting floor screws in in the trailer I had to turn it down because I was breaking the floor screws before I even touch metal into the cross members it has plenty of balls
that is for sure
the bolts look lose to me. ....
You apparently didnt see driver busted hub cap off too
Whats the song name ?
ohhh... crud.... been few years since i made that... got the song off of the gopro quick app at the time.
Get a wurth 3/4, cheaps as fuck, perfect for wheel nuts
Got a capri 3/4 works great!
I agree
Used mine for the first time today. Mpressed
Its a hella impact
You forgot to upload the part where you pre-loosened those lug nuts with a Ingersoll Rand gun. Everyone knows SnapOn pneumatics = weak sauce, the rest of their line isn't worth scrap prices either.
You know a Ferrari looks real nice but you sure as Hell can't drive it every day as a commuter vehicle, same thing with SnapOn.
LMAO, we cant get IR 3/4" impacts to last longer than 9 months in this shop after that they get tossed in the trash litterally, besides, even if they had been loosend there is still the matter of getting them past the jacked up and mushroomed stud ends
Then why don't you warranty the IR guns like YOU tell people to do with their SnapOn's?
Scott Latell shop purchases them from parts and tool sales business here in town. Managements choice to chuck em. If I were to buy them I would get them warrantied. But thing is, you dont see me talking them or any other mfr down in my vids.
Why not just get a 1" impact? Too inconvenient?
Bobby Larkler Size and weight constraints for working in engine bay area and under chassis, hell shop wont even get us a 1". I got this as kinda do all (or do most anyways). We got 3/4" for shop tools, but, removing lugnuts off of mushroomed studs was just a lil way to prove point to some trolls ive gathered up lately
Quit trying to convince yourselves. The PT850 sucks. I traded my MG725 for one, then sold it and got another MG. I hate it.
no trying to convince anyone, sorry you hate yours, but according to the other "elitist" out there the IR 2250 is "supposedly the end all be all of 1/2" impacts.
I buy one and is a piece crap no torque,
+SOTO'S what size of air compressor are you using?
I love my mg725
MG725 is a good gun for sure, lord knows i loved mine for a number of years
Lol i got for 200 as a student
Hella good deal there!!
legit
its a good gun for sure
Go buy a Harbor freight 3/4 $200 and can get a good warranty
Shop provides our ir 3/4" (that weve gone through several of in past few years) and they finally got a CP 1" for us that jas helped extend the life of our current 3/4".
