@@CindyHelms Yup. I love it. There are many references to classic Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon.
Superman and Lois breaking the wall is similar to Double Moon Gorgeous Meditation in Sailor Moon SuperS movie.
Not to mention the kiss is similar to Sailor Moon powered up by Tuxedo Mask.
These scenes alone have legit secured this show's legacy as an all time DC great.
It was a nice loving moment with Lois and Clark finally overcoming their relationship issues while also piercing the heavens to break out of Brainiac's simulation.
Okay, but one thing I realized:
In a previous episode, Clark lost his powers briefly, but when some drones shot at him, he stood in front of Lois to block them for her. She asked why he would do that even if he didn't know he was bulletproof now - his reply? "I know you weren't."
In THIS episode, we see Lois block a punch from a Kryptonian for him, even though she's well aware they would absolutely DESTROY her. It shocks everyone involved, including her, that it worked - but she was just as willing to possibly die for him as he was for her. That's love for you.

DC literally asked the showmakers "give us something new and fresh" and they delivered superman the anime and its fucking peak. The power of friendship, the uplifting speeches, everything, theyre using the tropes in such a great way

I love that it took her admitting to doing something crazy dangerous for Clark to realize that it's actually Lois. Because she actually does Crazy Dangerous things on a regular basis that he's having to pull her out of.
Their love is the love that will pierce the heavens!
The two of them are one strong power couple
After Clark says,"That's insane." Lois should've said, " Just as insane to throw myself off the top of the daily planet, building to prove my suspicion about you being Superman, right?" Clark, " Yes, as insane as that. Hey, wait a minute, only my lois would know about that."
Now I believe that at least one staff who works in this show is a long time anime fans.
Even them breaking the wall scene is similar to Double Moon Gorgeous Meditation in Sailor Moon SuperS movie.
