    Please don’t listen to stuff you’ve recorded in the background while you record new stuff. As you can probably tell from watching this now, it DOES get picked up by the mic and it’s distracting.

    NYU Law School has a great reputation in the law arena. They specialize in criminal law, tax law and environmental law. The tuition seems a bit high at $60K per year...but I guess you get what you pay for...

      @Kash Finley i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now.
      Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.

    I realized that there are hardly any international student who are enrolled in a JD program, most of the intl students interviewed are doing a masters or LLM program, do intl students rarely do the JD?

    • @lewislouis8829

      Because a lot of intl students have studied law in their undergraduate education. And obviously, they do not want to spend much more time on their degree anymore. So the LLM is more suitable for them.

      oh but an LLB is kinda like a Pre- Law degree program for eg in Jamaica you cannot practice as a Lawyer with just your LLB you have to go to law school for your LLM but i was considering the JD program after i receive my LLB.

      Joshmar sterling LLM is something you ought to have, even if you have a JD. LLM's are popular now for people who are interested in not practicing law but making themselves more enticing to several industries.

      Daniel Kurzyna wouldn't a JD/MBA be better ?

    • @danielkurzyna7394
      @danielkurzyna7394 9 років тому +1

      Joshmar sterling Well yes I would say it would be better. However there are people who want a degree in law yet not actually practice it. So it's easier and frankly better to just go for an LLM.
      Also for international students, many of them have JDs from their respective countries and I suppose they want to go back with an LLM to cement their status in their career, JD is a bit extensive and sometimes not worth their time.
      After graduate school, I actually plan on doing either a JD/MBA or a JD/PhD. So you're right to that extent :D
      PS: I'm doing a master degree in International Affairs, but I think an MBA would be a good idea as well.

    2.30 he is talking about a one year master that allowed the student to take the bar... Someone can please give me the name of this master!

      Probably an L.L.M. - usually better for international law.

      Only applies if you already have a foreign degree in law
