I love the sti hatchback and it’s way better than the gti, golf r, and civic type r. This is the type of hot hatch that Subaru should bring back for 2022
Raiti's Rides yea I know I drove one just last week for the first time. And I’m hooked I already have 3 grand saved for a hatch I just don’t know if I should save up more or if what I have now is good enough to start financing one
You know what I like about you, is that most videos especially in the F-450, you always say “I really like”, your doing great sir keep up and hopefully you will reach your goals, your videos are amazing
Of course man! It's the least I can do for someone who has been there since the beginning and always takes the time to watch and comment! The sedan from 2004-2007 was Subaru Perfection!
Sorry for being late, but in other countries outside US, WRX hatchback was sold without the widebody as depicted here, it was only available for the STi version. The sedan WRX shared the same widebody kit from the STi, and it changed some badges here and there. Hatchback wrx had the same body as the regular impreza hatchback (non turbo).
Nice review buddy! I own a full bolton 2014 wrx hatch (intercooler, injectors, fuel pump, dp ect ect.) I personally love the wrx for the huge aftermarket and more importantly the Subaru community. Keep up the great work buddy!
Sedan for me..........but I'd rather have the Fox Mustang next to the hatchback ;) (we don't have many Fox Mustangs here in the UK, so would love for you to review some!) Oh, and great camera work as usual, Tom!
Wow thats lucky finding two WRXs of the same generation and same color. The 2008 STi and WRX was a big shock to me as a Subaru fan. It was a huge styling changes from the hawk eyes STi sedan look which we were familar. The hatchback was heavier at 3386 lbs vs 3351 of the previous gen and with no changes to the engine output. The car feels bulkier and not as stiff as the sedan. And as much as i love quad tips exhaust. It was placed to close together for my liking. The WRX got downgraded brakes calipers from the Subaru 4 pot front and 2 pot rears it carries on the previous WRXs. And was much rounder and didnt look sporty with those silver cast multi spoke rims that look it fits more on a family car than a sports car. Thankfully they did a refresh towards the end of the generation run. But still the WRX didnt get the brake upgrade it needed. So many WRX owners i know of will find used WRX calipers from the early 2003 to 2007 models and swap the front calipers. About the stars and history. The logo is based on the Pleiades open star cluster. Fuji Heavy Industries was called Aircraft Research Laboratory in 1915, headed by Chikuhei Nakajima. In 1932, the company was reorganized as Nakajima Aircraft Company, Ltd and soon became a major manufacturer of aircraft for Japan during World War II. Much like Mitsubishi heavy industries. After years of changing owners and such the first peoples car after the World War 2 was the Subaru 360 which has a few resemblance to the Beetle as its also has a rear air cooled engine but way smaller in size and also affordable. The Subaru 360 paved the way for the Kei car industry and what we know as the 660cc city runabouts.
Nice Review. I always wanted this hatch. I never drove a subaru, but is the clutch pedal heavy in subarus? Im asking cuz i test drove a manual corvette and the clutch had more resistance than a most other cheaper manual cars i drove
Hey! I’ve got an epidemic.. I want to learn a manual transmission, but don’t know what car would be forgiving for a first time guy. My cousin has an evolution 10, but my first time trying out the instructions were tough! Can you recommend anything for me? I’m in love with the 2011 generation of the wrx by the way
Hi Joe, new subscriber here. I really enjoy the videos that have seen, awesome dedication you put on those. I want a Sti but... What do you think is better option, going with a 2015+ or 2012-2014 model?? Greetings from Puerto Rico my friend.
Hi Joel! Thanks for saying that! I appreciate you being part of the Raiti's Rides Family. If you need or want a hatch then the you already have your answer. I would go with the 2015 STI because they made some nice improvements.
One of my IT guys showed up at my office today with his Silver 2013 REX . Nice car. The interior is OK nothing special. His is a sedan. I much prefer the hatchback. Better looking and more practical. Rumor has it that for 2020 the choice will be back.
I would take the hatch any day. They can really be loaded like a wagon. USA must have had the STi rear spoiler on the hatches as standard, because here in AUS it was an option and enthusiasts seek genuine STi hatch spoilers. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for sharing your input! It is crazy how much the hatch is missed yet Subaru has said for sure if the are bringing it back. Thank you for the compliment!
Hatchback for me, thank you very much. 😁 Love those stock wheels. A guy lives close to me, has a black STi hatch. Envy him every time... P. S. Hey Tom, cheers bro 😁
i find ludicrous that safety features can be optional in cars, i'm referring to the fog light lacking on the front bumper of the hatch. there was a time even airbags were optional. all safety features need to be obligatory to have in any car imo it's like a pay to win game where the paid upgrades are functional and give you advantage, where the players who buy upgrades win. rather than upgrades only being cosmetic like in skins
@@RaitisRides it was a joke lol, referring to the coincidence that the hatch back was there and matching color lol . Also like your review, im getting a 2012 sti in the coming months, unless you suggest i go for the wrx, i don't like the 2014s and above.
Are you trolling or speaking from personal experience? Subaru fails if you load it up with so much power the engine struggles to handle. Plenty of kids do that and then bash the car online, saying it's crap and unreliable.
Hatch, even though I love my Rs there was always something about that sti hatch, Still gives me the goosebumps.
Same here brother, same here! I loved the flared finder look. I wish the fenders on our RS were a little more flared!
@Sham Mirza You say that like it's a BAD thing !! It worked for J-Lo LOL ;)
I love the sti hatchback and it’s way better than the gti, golf r, and civic type r. This is the type of hot hatch that Subaru should bring back for 2022
I can’t wait to get a hatch so I can stop watching the wrx life and start living it
You can do it! They are a ton of fun!

That is so awesome of you to say! Thank you so much for your kind words. I am glad that you are on this journey with me!
Thanks for the shoutout dude. I caught it and really appreciate it. In this year the hatch would be my choice. I liked the sedan in 2007 though.
Of course man! It's the least I can do for someone who has been there since the beginning and always takes the time to watch and comment! The sedan from 2004-2007 was Subaru Perfection!
Hatch. just because its now fully discontinued

Omg, The beginnings of greatness, love it Joe.

That seems to be the mist popular choice with this generation WRX.

@@RaitisRides It doesn't run too bad haha. actually you follow me on IG @spooling14 ✌ And you're welcome! Love the channel!
Brian G it's nice to make these connections! Thanks for everything you say! It really goes a long way!
I've got the hatch 2013 in WR blue. Love the car.
Just bought a 2011 sti sedan with 20k miles
You found a hidden gem!
How much did it cost you?
My dream car is the Subaru brz FRS 😄
You can make it happen!
I’ve been waiting for this Review Joe, thanks! 🙏
Audie Arce I’m glad I was able to make it happen. I seriously can’t believe two of them at the show at the same time!

Mercury sold a Ford foxbody in the uk
They are coming! One of my favorite Mustangs is a 1993 Cobra! I hope I find one soon to review!
This is very true!
Im about to get a 2013 in white from the original owner under 70k miles im freaking excited asf
Hatchback all day
It will be interesting to see what the 2021 brings with the hatch.
Love it!... I love the hawkeye models better than the new ones...

It's very light
Subaru had only once a hatchback impreza made but that was top and i think its still better looking than other hatchback todays cars
Hopefully one day you'll be able to do a comparison of each wrx/sti generation. Would be pretty neat
I'm actually working on that and it should be doable by November! It's going to be awesome!
@@RaitisRides that sounds great, I'm more bias to American muscle but some cars have to be respected. The wrx sti is one of them
I totally agree with you! Thank you for the suggestion!
JDM A'F do you miss it? The 04-05 STI is my favorite generation. What color was yours?
Like them both but which one is better for a person who’s tall like 6’9?
They’re both practically the same except one has more room in the back
I’m super late, but i have a hatch and i’m 6’1 with tons of head room, my 6’6 brother fits inside just fine
Hatch all the way!
I like your style!

2023 and still no new hatchbacks 🥲 2014 still kickin it!

That hatch for sale still? Looking for one around 15k with less than 90k on chassis.
Nope

Nice video what great channel

@@RaitisRides im so glad that you really appreciate me
Of course!
Hatchback looks better dont like this generation back the tailights design not a fan
It is funny how Subaru never gets the styling just right.
For the hatchback they did but not a big fan of the front headlights design
Anderson Rodriguez I totally understand where you are coming from!
Raiti's Rides hatchback tailights are gorgeous favorite thing about this gen so iconic
Yeah they nailed that!
I perfectly manuel stick transmission more funner then automatic transmission
I agree it is more fun.
Besides being 08-14...
Very good point! I am partial to the 04-05 STis.
Same.
Only thing better is a gc8 (93-01usdm) (93-99 jdm)

Evo/ralliart owners. Lol
The sedans in this Gen are probably the worst looking ones since we've been able to have em IMO....plus those guys don't wave to us 15+ owners!
I really miss my 06 STI, and you are right I have noticed that when I had my 15 STI.
It might be because the 15+ gen blends in more to the crowd without the widebody fenders
Possibly I can see that!

No one should buy a Subaru to keep long term car is designed to fail.

So very true! That is why I ignore 93% of that stuff people post.
Actually all cars are. That is how auto makers earn their money is in the sale of parts.
