Girl you have my prayers, respect and support. I've been where you are in life and I know exactly what you're going through. As life keeps lifing continue with your therapy, self growth and pursuing God, you are absolutely on the right path and I promise you that he WILL grant you ALL the desires of your heart. Be patient and faithful and watch God work.
Going to church didn't work for me. My mental health actually got worse once I started going. I felt like a fraud because I was so insecure about my salvation. I had a crisis of faith. It wasn't until I found my pastor, Pastor Pam, and joined an online church (Exodus Internet Church) that I started experiencing peace. I learned why I never felt "saved" (I had several false conversions). I learned why I was getting tormented, and what to do about it. Now, I am free from suicidal thoughts, compulsions, and depression. I am overcoming sexual torment and self-esteem/racial issues currently. But the best thing is that I am free from "trying" to make God accept me. I learned that the Holy Spirit is the One in charge of the entire born-again experience, and that all I need to do is wait on Him to make His move. I am free from feeling hopeless and crying myself to sleep. No more striving! Just understanding. And waiting, peacefully.
