quality content dude. I didn't find clear and informative videos like this one for BM 2 months ago when I started playing monk. This should help alot of people
Reason to stack haste is for better uptime on defensives/brews, plus allows u to get that special delivery benefit as u use brews more often more barrels are tossed, but if ur struggling to hold threat u run jade wind.
people say that gust of mists isn't that strong but in my experience i never find myself missing the extra brews form light brewing and black ox brew, plus getting the extra orbs can be great for picking yourself up in a sticky situation. This is just my experience form doing m+.
The ring of the lost abbey is BIS. It works out to about a 20-25% damage reduction overall as it gives more weight to your purifies and smooths your damage out even further.
Ah. I read that it was like maybe a 15% "dmg reduction" from stagger. But since stagger is still damage we would take I didn't rate it high since it's not true dmg reduction. The purifies however, would seem to have more weight like you say.
+brian carmack This info is slightly outdated. I recommend watching my 7.1.5/7.2 guide for brewmaster as there was some changes to talents and artifact weapon and legendaries
Just found your vids which are pretty excellent! I currently run MW in pvp and am considering switching to BM. Not sure if you play any PVP (even more rare as a BM) but would def appreciate any guides or suggestions for BM pvp for BG or R-BG
Thank you for this! Quick question, why does your user interface look completely different from mine? I just loaded with crap for the first time about two weeks ago. So forgive my basic questions.
Yes what Matt said, I use ElvUI. I have an entire video on my channel going over how I set everything up. I also have another video going over all the addons I use for World of Warcraft.
Chris Wright Woops. I know how stagger works but ever time I try to explain it I screw up somewhere. My wording was wrong in the math bit. I meant ticks once every second for 10 seconds.
I like BM monk but i keep getting told its the worst tank in the game right now which is disappointing cuz i like it lol i never have problems but people say it sucks :(
Chris Wright It's not that it sucks. It just it sucks having to put 10x more effort to get almost no reward out of it. If Brewmaster plays perfectly, they still take more damage than any other tank, they don't have any raid utility. and have poor dps too. Brewmaster is still viable for anything in WoW right now. But you get better results by doing less work if using a different tank.
if very skilled and mastered and no mistakes on brew master monks can they compete with druid guardian and warrior prot only if they played very well meaning knowing what to do in every situation and reaction can brew master monk be the best tank for raid and being able to main tank in all high end content? or still guardian or war and brew master off tank?
+skillfulactor09 Brewmaster is competitive with for a top tier spot if the right amount of gear and played properly, yes. It's just easier to get to that level of skill with other tanks.
+skillfulactor09 They are competitive because they smooth damager to such an insane degree that it's really easy to heal them and can even bypass certain mechanics that are really hard for other tanks. Biggest and best example right now is Odyn. His spears hit like a truck and Brewmaster can stagger 80-90% of the hit and can move away so fast that it will deal less damage anyway. Odyn and Cenarius are brewmaster's best fights right now. Their insane potential to shave off damage and high mobility make them high contenders for raid tanking and really good in dungeons too. "Main tank" and "off tank" terms don't matter now since both tanks are constantly tanking for basically the same amount of time. The biggest obstacle for Brewmasters currently is that nobody thinks they are good. That's because they are uneducated players who don't do proper research on WoW. Brewmasters can easily have a spot in a raid guild. Brewmaster tanks have killed even mythic Helya so they are viable in even the hardest difficulty content currently available and will continue to be strong in Nighthold.
All incoming damage is calculated after things like armor, Fort Brew, Ironbark, etc. Therefore the stagger dot will adjust to those values of "incoming" damage rather than numbers on tooltips in the dungeon journal
LMAO everyone always says that sephs secret ring or w/e its called is fkn trash and Idk if its just for every other class but as ele shaman I find it to b pretty sweet cuz it procs off earthquake hits so the ring is almost always on CD in mythic plus but I could see it being trash for most classes lmao xD next patch tho, spose to activate on interrupts also and gives more haste I'm pretty sure so hopefully will b more worth it for people haha
+Chris Wright The amount of haste it gives for us Brewmasters is too much. Not that it should be nerfed to accommodate our class, but 15% (25% in 7.1.5) is too much as a lot of people are GCD capped. Having more haste will help CDs just a bit for 10 seconds but we can't push every button properly since GCD can't go below 1 second.

Great vid. Still the only BM with AoTC on my server. lol. "I thought Brewmasters didn't exist" is still a common phrase.
Great guide and very informative. I'm a new brewmaster and this really cleared up alot for me.
Great vídeo! I'm starting to Lvling a Brewmaster and im lovin it! thx for the tips and u got a New sub haha :)

I'm definitely not a pvp player and don't intend to make much, if any, PvP videos at all.

+PBoogerwood You have to move everything around and set up the bars manually. I have a string in the ElvUI video where you can import my profile.
Expel harm does do damage, 10% of the amount healed. just to clarify
wich addon do you use? you're action bar and your Spec book look so nice :D
elvui
Yes what Matt said, I use ElvUI. I have an entire video on my channel going over how I set everything up. I also have another video going over all the addons I use for World of Warcraft.
Expel Harm does deal damage, not a lot but it does.
+Zocura It's not enough the even mention it.
Hey what are your addons?
So, is it better to keep up ironskin brew until stagger starts to get bad?
+INMORTALCRY Yes
seems like a good guide, only thing I can say is stagger does dmg every second for 10 seconds, not dot dmg every 10 seconds, that would b super op lol
Chris Wright Woops. I know how stagger works but ever time I try to explain it I screw up somewhere. My wording was wrong in the math bit. I meant ticks once every second for 10 seconds.
Oh fa sho lol like i said, good guide, just heard that and was like wait a minute hahaha
I like BM monk but i keep getting told its the worst tank in the game right now which is disappointing cuz i like it lol i never have problems but people say it sucks :(

they r godly in mythic raiding actually.
hello. can you post your weakaura string. you wa seams to work verry good and as a wa noob I would like it alot if you did that.
+viktor norrman I have a video on my channel that has the weak auras strings in the description.

what makes them really competitive right now?
like can they be main tank raiders instead of off tank
can they become main tank in raid
+skillfulactor09 They are competitive because they smooth damager to such an insane degree that it's really easy to heal them and can even bypass certain mechanics that are really hard for other tanks. Is stagger applied before or after armor? what about the dot?
All incoming damage is calculated after things like armor, Fort Brew, Ironbark, etc. Therefore the stagger dot will adjust to those values of "incoming" damage rather than numbers on tooltips in the dungeon journal
aww ok that's a lot better
your addon seems so nic,e what's its name?
It's ElvUI :)
