Hi Greg, thanks so much for the help. Hope this doesn't start an avalanche. Maybe some day we could bust some Trail together before this Trail we're on runs out?
Thanks a lot for the Great Adventure. It's GOOD for the Soul of us Arm Chair Treasure Hunters. Going to get Your book asap, and hopefully get out of the chair. At 75, not quite as easy as Yester Year.
I understand the slowing down as I used to climb all over the mountains but have slowed down considerably. Glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers, Greg Hawk
I'm not sure why this channel only has 3xx subscribers, the quality is here this is great fun! I love the way you show everyone the map it puts the possibility in my head that I could find my way there one day!
I know of some more gold disks being found not too far from this area. How large or heavy were these? The ones were trying to relocate were estimated to be 80lbs by the old rancher that found them. These were found leaning against a tree. The old timer tried to get on his horse with one but couldn't swing it. He left them there and went to get his grandson to help, They drug an old stone boat....(for you greenhorns a stone boat is what is used to remove stones from a plowed field in the old days) to bring back the gold but had an mule wreck along the way and never got back to the location. The great-grandson is trying to find them now.
That's a really interesting story! I was told the stone discs were about the size of a bagel and the hole in the middle allowed them to slide onto a pole for carrying them. I don't think you would put many on a pole before you couldn't carry it though. Thanks for Sharing! Cheers, Greg Hawk
@@randomtangents5204 Thanks, the disks John is looking for were thin and about a foot tall. No mention of a hole in the center, but there could have been?
Hi Greg, I tried to go to the old ruins last winter with my Son, to no avail. Would you be so kind as to tell me what is the name of the road I need to get on where you come to the sign that says Reymert mine, CottonWood Canyon, and Five Points? I would sure appreciate it.Thank You.
Go to Google Earth and plug in 33.229890 N, and 111.209463 W This is the location of the kilns. Take a picture or snip of the route coming off hwy. 60 back to the turn-off going up the wash. The drive up the wash is about 1.7 miles and there used to be a sign there point out Reymert but I haven't been there for a couple of years. Good Luck! Greg Hawk
Hi Greg, I was trying to find the coordinates on this location, but with no luck. Would you consider putting them out there? If not I completely understand. Thanks again for the Great Videos.
Bill, I looked them up and the coordinates for the Reymert Kilns that were used at the old Reymert Silver Mines are 33.22997 and -111.20932 Plug those into Google Earth and see if that gets you there. Cheers, Greg Hawk
Thanks a Bunch Greg, keep on Adventuring.
