It came out beautiful! I've been using using grease to press my hair all of my sixty five years and I will continue to do so. My hair is still long and healthy when the things my daughter and granddaughters do to their hair has really damaged their hair.

Great effort! a tip, next time, I suggest using the pressing oil on it's own and only once for the blow dry and the iron and use a quarter size distributing through your entire hair first before heat styling. You'll see the difference in quality and how silky your hair comes out when you use it sparingly and without other products weighing it down.
Just used this to press my daughter's super thick and coarse hair, and to say that we are both pleased is an understatement! Why did I leave what worked for me as a child? Following the crowd. Smh. I also greased her scalp, which was so satisfying. Will be trying this on my other daughter tomorrow.
I really honestly don't know why I straight away from how my mother did my hair when I was younger. She always washed her hair with Alberto V05 then she towel dried it then she greased it with the blue magic and put some sulfur 8 in the grease and then straightened it with a hot comb. That all of that my hair never broke off I never saw my hair on my pillow my hair didn't used to fall out when I combed it you know how you can see it in the sink. I wore the cotton scarves you know the old-fashioned ones that's what they say these days they're old-fashioned. And my hair always grow she never clipped our ends and my sisters and I hair was beautiful all the time. Fast forward to right now they lie and tell you that grease clogs your pores well how did my hair grow they tell you to clip your ends or your hair won't grow well my head did grow. There's so many lies these days concerning products just so the other person can make money. So what I did I'm transitioning back to the way my mother did my hair when I was younger. All these products that I had brought through the years wasted my money on I'm not using them anymore. Even those flat irons that go up to 400 and something degrees. People may call the older generation old-fashioned but they knew what they were doing.

Same way! My hair doesn't get straight with heat protectants. Reverts back the next day like I haven't straightened it at all. Going to try some of the oils you can use as heat protectants like coconut oil,argan oil,grapeseed oil etc. My hair tends to get weighed down easily. If that don't work going to try the dax. I prefer the greasy look myself. My hair is high porosity and it needs the weight. If I didn't use grease it would poof back up in 5 minutes! Lol heck it barely stays straight with the grease!

My mom use to use the Dax pressing grease to hot comb me & sister hair and our hair was laying on our backs b4 we were 12 yrs old. She also used the yellow Dax to grease our scalf. My mom would wash our hair with egg shampoo and braid our hair,the next day she would press our hair with apex pressing oil with a hot comb,our hair stayed pressed for two weeks .so every two weeks it was washed and pressed,don't remember ever having our ends clipped but we had long hair,I still do the same thing and have long hair.
Beautiful Yes hunni the old school stuff works I am 50 and have gone back to the old way press and curl i am now searching High and low for Ultra Sheen hair grease and creme satin press all the old stuff Dax, dixie peach, ultra sheen those were the hair greases that worked magic in our hair cornrows or ponytails during the week come saturday night get that hair washed air dried greased and pressed don't try to bring your stuff with you to the beauticians they get angry they want you to use this new improved stuff out some of the stuff causes damage

It looks greasy and weighed down. I don’t flat iron my natural hair anymore, but when I used to, I didn’t use grease to straighten it because the style would be too weighed down and sticky feeling.
I dont think putting grease on every section was necessary, but it definitely helps coarse/thick/dense hair get straighter with less heat and stay straight longer. I just wouldn’t use as much
Personally I've never flat ironed my hair with hair grease I was always too scared that my hair would burn doing so. However I do remember my mom using hair grease as she hot combed my hair. You're hair came out beautifully, btw.
if you do two big bantus higher up (think a little higher than pigtails) on either side when you go to sleep, it can give you more volume when you take it down

@@rayannsebro yes and it works well. Started using a leave in Mielle organics pomegranate and honey. No itchy scalp and I am the one who has to wash her hair daily or every three days because of scalp but I can go two weeks and my scalp doesn’t flare up or react

I just bought this and ran across your video. it looks like the Dsx made your hair stick together. Lord I'm trying to avoid that. This wasn't an insult and I apologize if it sounded like it. Im new to doing my own hair.
No it’s fine. These are the results for a day or so, afterwards the hair starts to separate and have more flow. Also I was a little heavy handed with the grease as I used it to blow dry my hair before straightening. 👍🏽
I haven’t tried pressing with the other Dax other than the coconut pressing one, but the only difference I can say is the pressing oil one is a lot light. I feel the others will be too heavy for pressing.
Wonder if this would work on non african curly hair. I tried everything and nothing works except permanent straightening (relaxer,keratin,..) I'm gonna give grease a go and see how it goes

I use grease too some time to flat iron my hair. Them oils didn't cut it. I use it on the hair only not scalp

Is dad better to use than hair grease but will it cause any problems if you have flaky scalp, dryness, itching, breakage but will it stop not to make that mot to happen yes or no ?
Is dax good to use because I have tried all kinds of hair greases like ultra sheen,bb extra lite double strength super gro,softer signature African shea butter, blue magic, softee hair food,softee herbal grow, and softee Indian style but will it stop breakage, split ends,dryness, flaky scalp itchy scalp but will tea tree oil,coconut oil,rosemary oil ,black castor oil, or just castor oil.
