yeah dude. My band is in drop B and all we have are 7 Strings. it gets a little floppy but it is very Do-able =]

If i guessed it would be the same gauge that comes with the pack
ex: ernie ball 7 string regular slink. because he plays in e standard with a dropped b. i would guess the gauge wouldnt be bigger than 10-50(or 52) from high to low E

@DarkRattlehead 8 strings have to have a longer scale otherwise the 8th string (F#) would be way to floppy, 26.5 inches is a usual scale but ibanez' version has a 27 inch scale
@chodeuhlicious The guitar he and Mark use is a Steph Carpenter Signature model, and it's a 25.5 scale. Maybe ark's 8 string has a longer scale, but I'm sure all the other guitars are fender scaled (so 25.5)
@KillswitchJohn its pretty much the same as drop D, but your low d is actaully a whole other lower string. 7 string standard tuning has a B on the bottom

@sarge435 they do. the sc-207 has passives, but its a bolt on.

@veeragandersucks Do you have an iPod? If so, just do that. I record my UA-cam videos with an iPod Nano. You can also use your cell phone too if you have a USB cable that matches up with your phone. Do you have a seven-string?
@beenoopo Thx for the info. I was almost sure they were longer, but didn't see it on the site. And I think the guitarists of Meshuggah use 30 inch scale 8 string guitars.
Agile has 28 & 30 inch scale guitars too.
what guitar is that ? its an ESP 7 string but , it looks like its the Stephen Carpenter signature , cos its got his sig around the 12th fret ?
one of emmure's guitarists uses drop A3/Bb. The other uses a seven string i don't know what tuning though
well obviously you wouldnt want to get the emg 707 that go on a 7 string guitar, but yeah, any standard 6 string pickup should fit in just about any guitar that has a housing for humbuckers... but if you dont have a battery housing in your guitar i would get the passive pickups which are called EMG HZ's...

drop 5th is another way of saying flat 5th.
The lowest string is the root and the 6th string would have the 5th, flat 5th is 1 fret lower than regular 5th

@YourMyDinner yeah the scale length has a lot to do with it too, like my dean ml and esp eclipse are 24 3/4" so heavier might be better

Hell yeah BTBAM owns Suicide Silence.
SS is a cool band with fun music, but my little cousin can play half their songs and she just started playing the guitar a two weeks ago.
Suicide Silence plays all their stuff in the open position on the bottom strings, it doesn't matter, its just not hard to do.
Does she still play?

@veeragandersucks Mark picked me up, and we took a picture. Mark also said that he was gonna check out my UA-cam channel because it's got guitar covers, and I wrote it down for him. Before he left he said he hoped to see me at their next show in Oklahoma. :)
