You didnt wait long enough for the wattage to come down aka the inverter mode of the compressor.
You need to check also if the set temp on the remote is the same with the ambient temperature of the room.
The goal is to reach the set temperature as fast as possible so the wattage will go down to the minimum wattage to maintain the set temperature on the remote
