I think Jeff and the consistently excellent musicians he has backing him is the most overlooked talent in metal. Perhaps even in music at large. Jeff Waters also has such an unique idea of how metal riffs can sound. He uses less distortion but it imparts a lot of extra energy to the music
Jeff plays like he's having fun and loves music. Metallica definitely did that for a long time but somewhere along the line they lost that joy and it became just a job
what is the last song with the really groovy riif/solo 15:20 right at the end where they play about 10 different amazing riffs in the space of 60 seconds please? this video is awesome
In the last minutes there is a medley of several riffs/licks from different songs. At the end i guess it's not an actual song of theirs, but a simple "bluesy" improvisation.
I'm still trying to figuring out what pedals are those and how they use them...I only know the yellow pedal should be Water's trusty Boss od1...but it should boost his modded jcm800 instead of giving him the whole distortion since when he switches it on-off the amp is clean...wtf???
Yeah! He used the Od1 back in that time. I heard that he used a delay slapback to get him classic fat and solid distortion, this is him trick to get the tone from 2 first albums
Crystal Ann with Drums and a slower pace sounds absolutely amazing!
Why the fuck have i never heard this.
This is a whole other level of thrash. Fucking badass

you think you rock? think twice and watch this dude.
Oath mate, could only dream of being in a band this tight.
Is that Nigel Tufnel on lead vocals?
Close your eyes and imagine these guys opening for Metallica. Now see Metallica cry.

I wonder why they didn't include stuff like this in the Ten Years In Hell incomplete DVD
Because Randy Black threatened to sue Jeff Waters!
In fact, I had uploaded a few other "home vids" like this back then but was kindly asked to take them down. I have hours of this stuff.
@@boomdetayjr.4134 can you share these somehow?
@@boomdetayjr.4134, please?

From 15:20 to 15:50 it is "Catch The Wind", but it is played in a little different way than it sounds on the "King Of The Kill" record.
13:37 Fun Palace
14:48 Road To Ruin
15:06 Kraf Dinner
15:23 Catch the Wind
15:51 outro riffs to Schizo's (Are Never Alone) Parts I & II
@BoomDeTay Jr. did you use Karashiga (or something like that?) handle in the past?
Something like that. Still do.

@@LuizHeavyMetal if it's the short delay you can hear on Ligeia then it's a bit longer than slapback. Pretty cool tho.
Wow! Love this band!
