'oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
tat savitur vareṇyaṃ
bhargo devasya dhīmahi
dhiyo yo naḥ prachodayāt'
Sri M - "The most important mantra and the central part of the Rig Veda is the Gayatri Mantra. The Gayatri is one of the most powerful and potent mantras that one can find in the ancient texts.
The very chanting of the mantra, even if one does not know the meaning, has a certain effect not only on the mind and the psyche of the one who is chanting but also in the outside world. One of the important things which happens when you chant the Gayatri is that your intelligence becomes sharp and stimulated. ..."

About Sri M
Born in India, Sri M is a spiritual guide, social reformer, educator and writer. He first met his Master at the age of nine under the jackfruit tree, in the compound of his house in Thiruvananthapuram in the Indian coastal state of Kerala.
The full account of his astonishing and amazing experiences are published in his memoir from 2011 titled “Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master - A Yogi’s Autobiography“, which became an instant bestseller. He has written a sequel to his autobiography, titled “Sri M - The journey continues”. He has written two more books - Shunya, his first novel and his latest one being - 'On Meditation', a book which answers questions on meditation.
Sri M has traveled the world fulfilling his life’s mission to teach and guide people as instructed by his Master, Maheswarnath Babaji. Over the years, Sri M’s mission as a spiritual guide, social reformer and educator have given rise to many initiatives including:

*।। गायत्री महामंत्र ।।*
*॥ ओ३म् ॥ भूर्भुवः स्वः । तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि । धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥ - यजु० ३६*
*शब्दार्थ*
*ओ३म* :- सबकी रक्षा करने वाला
*भूः* :- जो सब जगत् के जीवन का आधार, प्राण से भी प्रिय और स्वयंभू है ।
*भुवः* :- जो सब दुःखों से रहित, जिसके संग से जीव सब दुःखों से छूट जाते हैं ।
*स्वः* :- जो नानाविध जगत् में व्यापक होके सबका धारण करता है ।
*सवितुः* :- जो सब जगत् का उत्पादक और सब ऐश्वर्य का दाता है ।
*देवस्यः* :- जो सब सुखों का देनेहारा और जिसकी प्राप्ति की कामना सब करते हैं ।
*वरेण्यम्* :- जो स्वीकार करने योग्य अतिश्रेष्ठ
*भर्गः* :- शुद्धस्वरूप और पवित्र करने वाला चेतन ब्रह्मस्वरूप है।
*तत्* :- उसी परमात्मा के स्वरूप को हम लोग
*धीमहि* :- धारण करें। किस प्रयोजन के लिये कि
*यः* :- जो सविता देव परमात्मा
*नः* :- हमारी
*धियः* :- बुद्धियों को
*प्रचो दयात्* :- प्रेरणा करे अर्थात् बुरे कामों से छुड़ा कर अच्छे कामों में प्रवृत करें।
*भावार्थ*
तूने हमें उत्पन्न किया, पालन कर रहा है तू। तुझसे ही पाते प्राण हम, दुखियों के कष्ट हरता तू ॥ तेरा महान् तेज है, छाया हुआ सभी स्थान । सृष्टि की वस्तु-वस्तु में, तू हो रहा है विद्यमान ॥ तेरा ही धरते ध्यान हम, मांगते तेरी दया । ईश्वर हमारी बुद्धि को, श्रेष्ठ मार्ग पर चला ॥
