When it comes to Beyonce vs Michael Jackson... it’s laughable that people would even compare the two... one great Coachella Performance cannot equal the body of work Michael did since the age of 5 to 50..Michael was more then just the greatest performer to have ever lived but he was a pioneer helping to start the revolution of Music Video in 1983, dance with a chorus of dancers mind you, It had never been done before him with R&B.. Michael Thriller Album still in 2018 is still the biggest selling Album of all time! Michael was in the Guinness book of world records for winning the most Grammys from one single Album... Beyonce has a good start to becoming more bigger.. but since I have been alive when Michael Jackson was on the earth 🌏 I can say in “My” lifetime He was and still is The Greatest Performer, Entertainer, and all around Trailblazer of all time! Let us not forget the Saturday morning cartoons with his brothers there so much can be said about this iconic entertainer. from the age of 5 to 50 Michael Jackson is considered one of the 8th wonders of the world.... No Artist has yet come close... “It’s a lot of copies but there is only one original” Greatness shouldn’t be compared. At 47 years young and in the entertainment industry myself I know the difference between one Great Performance VS decades of stellar performances and being a Pioneer... AND SO IT IS WRITTEN... Imagine what would happen if this "Media" Generation" would say that Barack Obama is greater than Martin Luther King... HOW CRAZY WOULD THAT BE... ????? Just Saying... So Chance, just to let you know.... The next "Michael Jackson" of the world has not been born yet... for the record... -Mystro

simran singh I had to amen you on that. The glove no way close to anything Beyonce has in her current repertoire. Give credit to where credit is due. But Beyonce is contemporary and is successful but let’s be honest do research before making statements that history and stats cannot support.

Positive thinking, but the fact is Michael Jackson was, is, and always will be the greatest entertainer / performer to ever do it. That 1992 bucharest concert alone surpass anything Beyoncé has ever done in her whole career and she knows that. Michael Jackson was the only artist , just with his presence on stage would have thousands of people faint , something Beyoncé or any other artist has yet experienced. Don’t play yourself! Just had to school you and this new generation on that one.

I am sorry chance but no one can surpass Michael Jackson. I am so surprised that you could even compare Beyonce to Michael it is just ridiculous. Michael literally would walk on a stage stand there for two minutes and do nothing and the crowd would go wild. He spent 45 out of 50 years of his life performing it is such a shame that you could even compare the two. Michael Jackson will forever be the greatest entertainer of all time.

Coachella performance better than all the other performances of Michael? Really? That man started performing right from the age of 5 till the day He left us.. That's a delusional statement... Lifetime achievement and years of hardworking and dedication to perfect each and every performance of His is debunked by Chance!
Michael, spent hours perfecting one dance move or one music note to make it all perfect..
Lol, Michael could just remove His sunglasses and the crowd fainted..The rest performance is history!
Mr. chance, you've not seen any performance of His, I can bet.. otherwise this wouldn't have come from you. He has performed for the world right from the time when He was supposed to usually play hide and seek! Hundreds of concerts, millions of fans and millions of dollars grossed and what more! This man created history dude! Not to forget His immense humanitarian legacy in helping people with love and humanity throughout....
You should learn about Him than to bring ridiculous comparisons..
Life is not about surpassing the legends who created a mark on human history but to draw inspiration from them, learn about their art and do things that make us unique, not copies of legends..I think so..
Michael was great, He never failed to respect His inspirations like James Brown and Stevie Wonder and others..We don't compare them.. We make them our idols and try to make a mark on our own....
That's ridiculous to say that one festival performance is better than all the hundreds of tours and concerts that Michael did throughout His life...
Watch Him dude..You gotta learn from Him...

what makes a performer (or any person) great is their impact on humanity. michael jackson brought an innovation to his era that continues to inspire people, not to be him but to, themselves, challenge limits and expectations. THAT is his legacy. analyzing their talent seems a false comparison. besides , the language and expectations and overall mentality is/was different. different times beg different questions and, perhaps, different solutions.
let our takeaway from this conversation be to ask questions, to give ourselves permission to set our imagination free and entertain ideas, the tools for which, don't yet exist, and to not be afraid to stand out, even when it's not popular. stretch.

  • @soyyvicastro
    @soyyvicastro 6 років тому +24

You are literally delusional. Michael has 45 years of career, 5 of the best selling albums of all time (including #1), he's considered the most awarded musician of all time and it's considered by Guinness the most successful entertainer of all time. He would stay still on a stage and dozen of fans would faint, literally. He has performed with a broken foot and has flew out of the stage with a jet back for Christ's sake. Literally no one to this day has topped that. You're disrespectful and totally cancelled.

I'm here to make this comment again! A latest research on Michael's ability to perform! Neurologists explain the medical science behind the anti gravity lean, which Michael did during His smooth criminal video and then performed it live for years. While its known that Michael had invented a shoe to achieve this dance step, but it's not just the shoe but a great deal of physical strength and inventiveness. That proves Michael Jackson was not just a performer but also an inventer and innovator! His 45° lean is impossible to achieve even by most trained dancers, an angle of 30 to 20 degrees with the ground is the average a human can lean upto, but an angle of 45° is unmatchable, as Michael did live. Dancers keep injuring themselves in their efforts to achieve the 45° lean, but not a success as declared by neurologists and researchers in they're recent study of the lean from the medical and physical point of view. It's a really mind-blowing! Doctors have warned that trying this might cause severe injuries. It really proves Michael's potential as a great inovator and that His core strength as a performer is unmatched! It's not an opinion, but a well established fact!! Yeah! He's the King of Pop for a reason!♥️ Chance, did you have the chance to see these performances? I'm sure, definitely not!!! So, have your research and don't again think of debunking Michael's talent as a performer.
Artists are unique in their own way, be it anyone. Comparing them is just not right, like we don't compare Newton to Gallileo, we don't compare Michael with James Brown and Stevie Wonder or other pioneers. They are our Inspiration, not a goal bar that we need to surpass. We must have the ability to establish our own lanes and our own mark. Legends have their mark, they don't need to be copies of our pioneers.. I couldn't help but had to share this wonderful research by neurologists and medical experts!
    Everyone must search for it!

Chance is basically explaining Michaels motto: "study the greats and become greater" (guess Chance himself tried to surpass Michael by using his motto lol). There's just one minor thing that needs to be said: Chance doesn't have any arguments to support his opinion on why he thinks Beyoncé's Coachella performance is the goat. It's HIS OPINION. So, it's not a fact. MJ's Motown 25 performance actually is the goat by fact. MJ made history by changing the entire music and entertainment industry forever by his 5 minute performance of Billie Jean. This single performance broke racial barriers, because it united and inspired people all over the world. It still does today, almost 40 yrs later. Can't say that about any performance by any other artist ever/yet. Yes, Beyoncé was great at Coachella, but an awesome performance doesn't make it the greatest. It's about the impact.

Lol cmon. That Beyonce performance was no different than a J LO show. And guess what: Neither of them are better than Michael Jackson in terms of pure talent, skills, soul, or historical relevance.

Could have approached this differently, felt way too focused on artists then the message he was trying to convey. Point wasn't emphasized enough.

He could have but by doing this in my opinion he makes the idea more easily understood and relatable.

He's not talking to children. No need for it to be "easily understood and relatable." These are adults who just graduated college. They don't need to hear some whack commencement address on celebrity performance. This was awful. But basic black people will think this was the greatest thing ever.

Nadine König shut up he put it "relatable terms" probably because celebrity performances are something he can relate to. And it makes it easier to get his point across. I have a teacher that was a big sports geek, he uses a lot of sports terms to explain things in his lessons not only because he loves sports but because he said it makes it easier for him to get his point across. Also because we are a school that's all about sports so we pick on what he trying to say faster.

I'm not white. Did you listen to his whack speech? It sounded basic. He didn't just use an entertainment term here and there, that's all he spoke about. Yes, there are basic black people. What? You think we are all complex intellectuals? Even yet, you think we are all smart or even kinda smart? Lots off dummies in the black race. We are the most manipulated and taken advantages of by other races, people. Why do you think that is?
